TERRIBLE office staff.. great Doctor. if I was an office manager or the doctor; I would let Leilani go right away. Especially; a stuff who sits in front desk and face of the doctor's office ; she has really bad attitude like she doesn't want to be there. If it wasn't for the doctor, we would never come to this office. Last time she gave us such a hard time about prescription. Our pharmacy didn't receive the prescription and she said it takes 72 hours . Never heard that as it should be electronically. When we checked in, she said they are running 1 hour behind. I asked " Even with appointment?" She said yes. Then few minutes later she asked about my appointment time. She realized that we were 3 minutes late to the grace period; she canceled the appointment front of us and made us wait 2.5 hours to be seen out of despite. My confusion, if they are running 1 + behind; us being 3 minutes late pass grace period; why would she cancel the appointment front of us and put us 2.5 hrs behind!!! This is absurd. We never received such a bad service from an office staff like Leilani. Unfortunately we like the doctor and we are stuck with this office. I hope the office takes an action against her. Dr. Damiani is an Awesome Caring doctor who LISTENS to You about your concerns and what Works & Doesn't Work for Your body and doesn't make you feel like you're a stupid idiot who knows nothing about medicine like 90% of the crap doctors out there do! His phone service has become greatly improved in the last year, yes, I complained to him a few times about extreme difficulties in both contacting anyone on the phone & time spent in the waiting room, he sincerely apologized for my problems in his office. I've been his patient for over 15 years so I've seen the changes in his office both bad & good, but Dr. Damiani has never changed in his caring/concern for his patients. My appointment today was at 2:15, I had to call this morning because I wasn't sure what exact time & only had to wait a few minutes to get thru, not the 45 minutes I've had to wait in the past. I arrived 20 minutes early and was taken in about 10 minutes early. All in all I signed in at 1:53 pm and was getting in my truck to go home at 3pm. read more

The office experience is terrible and pretty much what everyone says is true. BUT HE IS AN AWESOME DR. You can search the world over, but you are never going to find a Dr. who cares about his patients as much or listens as much and genuinely worries about and cares for his patients as much. Period. The reason the appointments always run late are exactly because of that care. In the morning before his office hours he is rounding on his patients at the hospital down the street, and he takes all the time he need with each patient, so he is frequently late to the office. Then he takes the time he needs with each patient in the office. I can vouch for that because I work at that hospital, but I met him as a patient in that hospital. If your appointments have to run on-time, this is not for you. If you want the best endocrinologist and/or the worlds most caring Dr., this is the only place to go. read more

Great doctor but everything else is terrible! When I was in the office there were three girls in the office but it appeared they were more interested in chatting than working. Whenever I try to call it rolls over and over to the voice prompt but there is never any opportunity to leave a message. I waited 20 minutes and never could get through. One other time they answered and hung up. There is no email by which I can contact them. When I asked about having labs done in my town which is an hour away I was given every excuse imaginable why it couldn't be done. Also the wait time is ridiculous. Sometimes as long as two hours! As much as I really like Dr. Damiani the way he allows his practice to be run is unacceptable. I'm considering another doctor who is easier to get in touch with. read more

The slowest service in the world. Everything in the office is not patient friendly . Office is super unsanitary and old. Staff is put off from everyone and argued across the room from the lady next to me rather than taking the time to explain. Waited an hour after my appointment time to see the doctor.. with two people there... after me! He's very nice and sweet but his staff sucks, flat out. Will be finding another doctor that actually sticks to the appointment time. So for reference, if your signed states that I'm 15 minutes late for my appointment I have to make another appointment, then if your doctor is 15 to 30 minutes late you should have to reschedule me for free. if i could leave no stars i would. being a person in the medical field for many years, i know better than to answer a phone and not give opportunity for the patient to answer when they say please hold. im trying to get a patient scheduled for clearance and im going to make sure to tell my patient to switch endocrinologists as this is unacceptable. and the lady who answered the phone was the office manager. you should go back to school and learn proper office etiquette!!! read more

I was referred to the Doctor through the VA choice program and my obgyn. I am pregnant and my ob wanted my Grave's disease monitored during my pregnancy as I have had recent miscarriages and he wanted to ensure my thyroid was in check to ensure the health of my baby. I arrived early, but wasn't given any paperwork until after my appointment time. I didn't see the doctor until nearly 90 minutes after my appointment time. All regular medical office annoyances and issues, but in this case, the best part of the visit. The doctor came in, didn't introduce himself or bother to acknowledge the 90 minute wait. When I explained the reason for the referral and the round about way it was associated with my ob, the doctor made a disrespectful "laugh" and shook his head saying "they should be treating you, they should be treating you". I presume he was referring to the VA and not the ob and stated they are, they referred me to you because they do not have any reasonably available appointments to monitor me during my pregnancy. He than began his interrogation. I told him I did know the names of the different doctors i have seen for the thyroid issue or the name of the doctor who diagnosed me. He got upset that I wasn't on medication for it. I told him that I wasn't and it was a decision made between me, my pcp, my psychiatrist, and the endocrinologist. I get my thyroid levels tested annually and if anything is of concern, i retest and see the endrocrongist department. He again demanded "his" name. I reminded him in a curt voice I had already told him i didn't know the names. He raised his voice and mocked me. Than told ME that if I raised my voice again "we will have a problem ". Too late, problem already had. He was upset he didn't have dr names or the blood work from years ago. He raised his voice and talked over me to advise me these where standard questions and needed for my treatment. No, they are not. If he needed blood work than he can order it. If he needed the dr names (which not sure why NEEDED or makes a difference. They moved to different facilities by now.) All questions should be directed to the VA endrocrongist department in general and if so integral in my treatment, should have been on the paperwork i filled out and requested prior to accepting the referral from the Choice Program. He is an arrogant and disrespectful person. And incompetent based on his inability to order labs or otherwise function without "names". I have seen several specialist via the Choice Program and he is the only one who needed the diagnosing dr name in order to treat me. I had called his office once I was advised an appointment was made to verify the appointment, address and to ask if I needed any bloodwork done prior to the appointment. I was advised that "if the dr needs labs he will order them AT your appointment ". I could have been advised I needed to provide labs I had related to this. The VA sent what they deemed the pertinent information, if it wasn't enough, he had over a month to request additional information and if the VA wasn't cooperating, he could have refused the referral. He is an example of government waste. He will most likely get paid tax payer dollars for rendering no medical services and being rude and disrespectful. I still need to see an endocrinologist. He though he made comments on observing I was upset, he made no effort to descalate the situation, he did the opposite. He mocked me. I never yelled at him, cursed or used a rude tone. I elevated my voice as my stress increased with his interrogation. But still it was low. I know this because I was doing body checks the entire time because having PTSD requires me to be well aware of my state to help avoid certain undesirable behaviors. read more

I wish I had a video recorder. Childish behavior might be a reasonable description, but I'm no sociologist. Then again, when the Doctor, closes your file, pushes himself away from you across the room and crosses his arms, I suspect, he is using the maximum body language of, "I'm not listening to you and I and shutting you out". That's exactly what he did. Why you might ask? Well, if you go to a doctor and ask a question, they usually seem pretty good at answering, that is the relationship they feel most comfortable with. In my case, I was asked some questions and my answers put him into a tail spin. For instance. Question by Doctor: "Why are you taking this medication?" Answer from patient: "I was prescribed this medication when I inquired about my symptoms many years ago. Ive been using it and have found a good level and method that works for me. I do XX and take XYZ XX times a week. I've been taking this medication for many years now as described" Doctor: "I can't agree with that, It's not supposed to be like that" Patient: "Doctor, I do this to avoid the issues associated with the method you are suggesting. Am I not correct in what I've said?" Doctor: "Yes but I can't agree" Patient: "But look at my blood work, you have all my data right in front of you, Am I at risk?" By this point, he was already shutting me out rather then discussing my treatment. He agreed my blood work was fine and agreed no issues but was so firm in rejecting everything I was saying, I finally asked him, to please explain something... It was a rhetorical question. In other words, I knew he couldn't answer because he was wrong and I wasn't asking him to argue, I was asking him to postulate why the point he had taken was so perfectly correct. He became highly agitated, and insisted I was wrong and he had by this time shut me down from even discussing my treatment as his position was in total opposition. Even though many other doctors whom I've used over the years were not having any issues with the protocol, Doctor Damiani literally pushed away from the table after closing my file and crossed his arms. This doctor is incompetent in so far as he has zero ability to digest data. He is going to prescribe you, if your lucky, the crap the sales guys walk in and tell him to prescribe. Forget having an intelligent discourse and using any of your own knowledge in his office. I'm not simply bad mouthing this Doctor, I'm warning you, don't expect to get a good doctor to give you good treatment if his name is Damiani You will get his way or the highway. Turns out, some guys just don't like reading after they get that diploma and leave the concept of learning behind them at graduation. The title is all they need, You are a meme. Don't expect your own understanding of your body, your condition, your treatments and any research you have done to be allowed into the conversation. I wasn't allowed to have even the slightest discussion once he found anything that wasn't automatically agreeable. I've learned you need to use your own mind to find solutions. No doctor is that smart. Once you find ways to get yourself the best treatment, you should always make it known to your doctor what is working and what isn't. Doctor Damiani has no room for intelligent patients. Go somewhere else. This place is a mill house for Fat Sick and stupid people. At least that was what I gathered from the waiting room and his ridiculous behavior. If this guy swore an oath to do no harm and protect his patients, I can attest, he gave not one iota about that as I left his office with him knowing I was going to need medications yet he allowed me to walk away. Thanks for nothing Doctor Damiani, and to think, he billed my insurance company full for that BS. In conclusion. You are far better off looking for a professional that will listen rather then close your file, push away from the table across the room and cross his arms with a scowl on his face. read more

I have been seeing Doctor Damiani for over 7 years. Dr. Damiani listens to his patients and he cares for us. Dr. Damiani knew I had a unknown hereditary condition that has plague my family for years. He pushed me to get tested and until we determined a diagnosis and now I am getting the proper treatment. He is a great doctor and I would recommend him to anyone. His staff is great too. read more
