Paid for non covered expenses prior to the work being performed, no biggie. I think I waited 5 minutes before being seen. X Rays were taken by the hygienist, who was very courteous. She the proceeded with my cleaning. I was seen by a Doctor and we interacted well. All our interactions were as expected. All in all, I think the visit went as planned. I'll be back in 6 months. I went to a dentist office, prior to being referred to them, and was told they wouldn't even clean my teeth until I had gum scaling done! This apparently happens often. This group is not like that. I see Dr Richard Szikman and absolutely adore him! I get high anxiety going to the dentist and my teeth are extremely sensitive. He ensures I experience no pain, he's gentle, he talks you through what he's doing, and his work is outstanding. As a special note, let me tell you, my son had his two front teeth knocked out (almost) on a Saturday night. I called Dr Szikman's office the following Sunday morning. Dr Michael Szikman called me immediately and we met him at his office within the hour and he cared for my son like you wouldn't believe. No assistant. Just warm and caring. Now onto to 1 star... every single time I come in here I end up with an extra bill MONTHS later for hundreds of dollars. This clinic already charges the very very top of the price spectrum for everything so when I pay $2000 for a crown (just the crown not the root canal), I don't wanna get an extra bill for $300 months later... The absolute worst part is they will tell you they accept your insurance then tell you they are out of network after the procedures are over. Very deceptive. Lastly. I went in for a regular cleaning and the hygienist told me she wanted to do a "deep clean"... this "deep clean" seemed a lot less "deep" than the regular cleanings I have gotten in the past. It took maybe 10 minutes and it didn't even include the fluoride treatment. So I think they are telling you they are doing some special treatment to charge you more (over $100 more typically) and they arnt even doing anything that "deep"... All in all I was in their office for maybe 2 hours and was charged over $2000.... Like what are y'all doing that is worth over $1000/hour Cuzz I'm about to change careers.

The practice assistants attempted to use hand mirrors and large cannon cameras to photograph the lingual side / inside of my mouth and teeth . Typically this is done with an intra oral camera or if no equipment is available the doctor performs an examination. The dentist told me I had several cavities and that my gum line is rotting . I did not tell the dentist but I am a certified dental assistant and have maintained excellent dental hygiene. I later went to another dentist who did two exams with proper equipment and told me that I have excellent dental health . I went to this practice after my dentist retired . I wanted to continue to patronize a black owned business . It won't be this one , there is no integrity here , she's not here for the wellness of her patience's . I do NOT recommend .
