I was covered 100%. They didn't try to rip me off. She was extremely knowledgeable. What a relief to have found an honest professional dental practice. I really wanted to overlook those issues and continue bringing my family here, but when there are problems almost every time we visit, it becomes too stressful. If you're a new patient, my advice is to verify that the office has confirmed they are in-network with your insurance BEFORE your appointment--even if your insurance company lists them as in-network. The office says they verify insurance the day before your visit and will contact you if they don't accept it. Naturally, you assume everything is fine if you never hear from them and no one mentions anything at check-in. However, in our experience, they sometimes verify your insurance while you're already there, only to tell you at checkout that they don't accept your insurance and that you're responsible for the full balance. In all fairness for this instance, the balance was finally written off after I complained about it. The same applies if you're having anything beyond a routine cleaning. Make sure they've verified whether the procedure is covered by your insurance BEFORE treatment begins. I repeatedly expressed my concerns and was always reassured that things would improve, but issues continued to happen. The office considers it a courtesy if they don't collect payment at checkout and offer various payment options to make your payment. I don't see that as accommodating when the situation could have been avoided with proper insurance verification beforehand. In one instance when my husband was given the "courtesy" to not pay at checkout, the moment he left his appointment, I received a text with photos of his invoice, the balance due, and a payment link. I was also told that because the insurance policy is in my name, I am responsible for his bill and I will be sent to collections if the bill is not paid, which I found frustrating. I understand mistakes happen, and I know times are difficult for many families. That's exactly why clear communication and accurate insurance verification are so important. Unfortunately, I was told I am the only one having these issues with the office, even though they kept occurring. It's disappointing because Dr. Mitchell is a great dentist. Sadly, the ongoing problems with the front office and billing have outweighed the quality of the dental care for my family. I'll be relieved once this final bill is paid and we can move on.

I was going to give it three stars…read morebecause it was an average dental cleaning but what made me take down one star is that the dental office charges every patient a fee even if you have insurance (more on that later). I called other dentists in Atlanta and there are some with high ratings and new technology that do not charge an office fee. Before going to the dental cleaning I received several messages through email, text and call asking me to confirm my appointment. I confirmed my appt via a click of a button through an email and also again through text message. I would have appreciated only being "pinged" once to confirm. Then I received a call the day before asking me to provide my dental information by noon, which I had already emailed them the day before. When I got to the office, I was seen promptly. I mentioned to one of the staff that I had my records sent over a couple of days ago. They said they couldn't find them and asked why I would need to have my records sent. I just thought it was part of the process and that the dentist would be interested in my history and prior x-rays. They told me the dentist will be doing new x-rays so not to worry about the records not being found in their inbox. The x-ray process took about 10 minutes. That's when I started noticing that some of the technology/atmosphere is a little more outdated than I am used to. Just things like the chairs, and the overall ambience, but nothing was technically wrong with it. Also worth noting that my previous dentist usually takes my blood pressure before the cleaning and provides mouthwash. There wasn't any of that here. When the x-rays were done I wasn't communicated with about what the next steps would be. I was sitting there for about five minutes and didn't really know what to expect or what/who was coming next. I was also unsure of who my hygienist would be. Also the chair was not in a comfortable position for my back, but there was no staff around to tell so I kind of propped myself up while I was waiting for the next person to come presumably. After a few minutes, the dentist came over and said that she would be doing my cleaning. The cleaning was really a no-frills cleaning. My previous dentist (in a different state) had really new technology like noninvasive tools that can sense where cavities might be forming and they also have a screen on the ceiling above the chair. The cleaning here was a bit messy. I had water dripping all the way behind my neck and when I left I had spots of toothpaste on my face. I also didn't really feel like it was rinsed enough and I felt leftover toothpaste granules. Minor note, but I wasn't given an option of what toothpaste I wanted either. When the cleaning was over I went to the front and this is probably the biggest reason why I had to give it two stars instead of three. There is a $10 charge and it wasn't explained what that charge is for. This charge is for every single patient apparently. This is definitely not OK in my book given that insurance should pay for the entire cleaning. I understand that perhaps they needed to charge for Covid protocols (just a guess). The lack of explanation about the charge at the end did not feel good as a patient. I asked them if this was a co-pay because there should not be a co-pay. They simply said that it's an office charge. I should have really probed that more but I just paid and let it go and decided I won't be back. The staff were friendly so that was positive. But I definitely think that I am looking for a higher quality dental experience. My last dentist would spend time with patients for an hour, but here I was in and out pretty quickly. Also this is minor, but this office does not give out free toothbrushes or floss, or at least I didn't get anything and it wasn't offered to me. I think better communication, a more thorough exam, interest in my dental history, and of course not having any extra charge at the end would have really made it a better experience. I wouldn't say this is a bad dental clinic by any means but I just think it is more for patients who aren't looking to establish a dental "home" but those seeking an infrequent cleaning/procedure.

Siri piped in outta nowhere from the tech's phone, and he had a quip for that too. Amy did an amazing cleaning, was direct in what I can do better and what I was doing well. I appreciated every word that came out of her mouth as well as the fun banter of new tv shows and recent trips to make me feel comfortable in the midst of a wide open mouth and dental cleaning. Paresa - bless her for dealing with me having issues with biting properly for the x-rays due to some pain. I apologized for jumping and 1/2 biting her head off as she tried to get things set, and her smile never wavered as she told me she didn't take it personally and finished her part. No one gets excited to go to the dentist. I waited longer than I should after a really bad experience with my last choice of dental offices...but this, this was a great experience despite a couple years of build up. I'm making appointments for the teenagers next and am thrilled to have found my new dental office.

The entire staff is so nice and genuine, they make going to the dentist a pleasant experience (I know, how is that possible?!). My first appointment was an initial check-up, but I had a cavity that was bothering me and they squeezed me in same day, right after my check up. I didn't have to wait weeks to be fit in, they filled the cavity right then. This is now our go-to family dentist, I cannot recommend this office enough!

I have been coming here for years, and I have not had any problems until recently. I think the…read morepractice has gotten so big, that the staff members just don't care. My most recent visit was a horrible experience for me. When checking in, I had to update my history. One question on there asked me to select issues or concerns I had more questions about, so I did. However, that was never addressed during my visit. The hygienist was initially nice, but I don't think she showed much compassion or concern. When taking my Xrays, she kept shoving the piece so far back in my throat that it was causing me to gag. I kept having to adjust it, which I could tell was irritating her. I then told her she's pushing it way too far back, and I can't help that I have gag reflexes. Then when she went to clean my teeth, she let the suction rest on my tongue, and when I tried to hold it, she said "no just let it rest there." So she starts cleaning my teeth, and water was splashing everywhere. After the water started splashing in my nose, I had had enough. I informed her that no other dental hygienist at that practice ever had water splashing on me like that. In the middle of her cleaning, the doctor walks in. He's pleasant as always, but he walks in asking her what type of chair/stool she likes better. Had a whole conversation which I feel like was not important to discuss in front of the patient. I also hate the fact that he came in the middle of cleaning instead of once it was over like he normally does. I want to ensure the hygienist did a good job. At any rate, the hygienist (Cara? Sarah?) continued cleaning and she actually scraped my gum a few times while removing plaque from my teeth. I squirmed in the chair so she could tell it hurt, but she didn't do anything about it. Lastly, she says "it looks like your fluoride is covered today." So she finished up and walked me to the front and said I was good to go. I went to the restroom, and when I got back, the receptionist said "I know she said you're good to go, but you actually owe for the fluoride. It looks like you had an $18 credit on your account but you still owe $17." I explained several times that the hygienist said it was covered, and she said "I know but she was looking at it wrong." Well that's NOT my problem. I told her that I hear what she's saying, but fluoride is optional. So I wouldn't have even gotten it. She finally said she would just "scrap the fee." I then walked out. Also, why did I even have a credit on my account? So they are overcharging people, but they never even notified me that I was being over charged. I still do not know why I had a credit on my account. So customers BEWARE! Overall horrible experience.

I recently brought my 91-year-old mother in for a severe dental emergency involving a broken bridge and two broken teeth. They fit us in immediately, treated us like family, and provided a clear, honest treatment plan. The doctors here prioritize patient safety above all else. Dr. John Bishara thoughtfully waited for hematologist clearance before doing any extractions, making the right medical decisions for her overall health and giving us immense peace of mind. Later, Dr. Milli Patel was incredibly meticulous when making the mold for her new bridge.
