Dan The Bee Man...IS YOUR MAN! We had a yellow jacket nest that had taken up residency in our kitchen wall. They were entering into the kitchen somehow. We called our usual pest company and they came and sprayed the nest - during the middle of the day. That night I got stung. It was not pleasant. We ended up with our kitchen being off limits for almost 10 days because they KEPT COMING INTO THE HOUSE! After repeated calls to the pest guys (who kept reassuring us that the spray takes time), we finally called Dan! Dan came to first give us an initial consult 5 days into our ordeal. He wasn't convinced that our problem was taken care of then, but we were all in agreement to give it a few more days. Well the few more days didn't help. And here we are...today. We called Dan back and he came with no hesitation and had an action plan already in mind! He made his first cut behind the dishwasher-because we had seen the yellow jackets flying into the house from the sides. Upon moving the dishwasher, he was greeted with about 100 dead yellow jackets. Unfortunately the nest was not there. He then examined outside where we had seen them coming in. He then made a second cut inside through our lath and plaster (about the size of a softball-maybe a bit bigger) and FOUND THE NEST. The spray had only partially damaged it and it was 'still alive and very active' and was about the size of a large honeydew. Dan removed it quickly and patched up all the holes. Dan also gave us recommendations on how to fix it going forward. He also patched up the hole outside with steel wool to prevent any more yellow jackets from coming inside! Dan gave me my life back! I had two nests on my property - 1 with bald-faced hornets and the other with aerial yellowjackets. I also have two honey bee hives on my property, which can be threatened by both of these stinging insects. I didn't want to use any poison to remove the nests and sent Dan an email (his preferred method of contact). Although he had been booking out a week AND I was outside of his normal service area, Dan made the extra effort to come out and take care of the nests on short notice. He's a super-nice guy who has deep knowledge regarding the pests he is removing. He's professional, on-time, efficient and has a genuine interest in serving people and doing what's best for the environment. For my trip, he was capturing and sending (at extra time and expense to him) the bald-faced hornets to a lab to have their venom extracted to be used to make immunotherapy treatments for people with severe sting allergies. Impressive. I also really enjoyed that Dan is a beekeeper with many hives and many years of experience. I enjoyed talking to Dan as he did his work about both his experiences as a beekeeper (with much more experience that me) and mine. He certainly has quite a bit of knowledge. To sum it up, I cannot recommend Dan more highly to come out and humanely, and without poison, remove stinging insects that have decided to make their home somewhere that is dangerous to you and/or your visitors. read more

We had yellow jacket problem at our ally , I started to panic. I have never been stung by a bee or wasp or hornet mainly because I am so careful around them. I watched a lot of national geographic as a hobby so I figured it was a nest on the ground since it was more than 10 yellow jacket flying in and out. They are pretty amazing creatures, I just don't want them living with me. Because the area is really close to our ally we need to remove. So i did my googling, first found another company who sprayed chemicals. They were going to charge almost 300 plus miles etc without removing the nest. Then I did more googling and youtube watching on how to remove yellow jacket hive or how not to remove lol. We decided that We didn't want poison nor accidents like the poor youtube posters, so I yelped around again and found Dan. My Friends offered to remove it for me for free, but if they fail and anger the wasps... it becomes my liability and insurance claim. I rather hire someone to remove it properly and get the Queen. Since they are territorial there wouldn't be any at the ally but I also suspected we had something under neath our roof line since it is the modern type and there is a gap. I keep seeing bee looking type of bugs flying in and out, I thought they were bees but asked Dan to check them out. Dan looked at it and took some photo and found out there was another nest not a bee nest but yellow jacket a different type sigh. Yes another nest right next to my roof deck sofa. My little pup always goes under , we are so lucky nothing happened to him or me. I could have endangered my friends over a BBQ because it was right next to our out door lounge sofa area. Dan quickly explained it was the size of an apple thank god I found it early. He removed both at the price of one without charging us extra. He also explained how we should set traps out next year to catch the queen etc. Dan finished removing two nest in an hr. over all he is really great and I highly recommend him. hopefully I never have to call him any time soon. If I have wasp problems again, I will call him. Now the wasps are removed I will wait for two days before I go up on my deck to garden LOL. If you're having bee problems (or in our case, yellow jacket problems), Dan is your guy! We had a yellow jacket nest in our wall. Dan assessed the best way to get at it and was able go in through a small hole in our siding behind a light fixture and remove the nest. Over the next few weeks, we were still noticing some yellow jacket activity despite the nest removal - it seems we won the award for most persistent yellow jackets. 4 emails, and Dan the Bee Man was out within a couple of days to look at the bee's nest my neighbor had pointed out a couple of times. It turned out to be yellow jackets, which are near the end of their season and will die off in a couple of weeks. He used a thermal camera to show us exactly where in the wall they were (which was super cool). He's quite knowledgeable, and told me that his course of action would be to wait them out, unless we started to hear knocking or munching noises (which would indicate they were about to bust through the wall and probably needed to be removed.) I thought it was very pleasant talking to him, he answered all of my questions, I feel like I learned a lot, and I really appreciate what turned out to be a free consultation. I first hired Dan last year because yellow jackets were nesting inside a wall and getting into the house, and I wanted a company that could remove the nest without using poison. But because I live in a very old Craftsman, the architecture apparently makes for a lot of nesting places that are hard to find, and after inspecting where the nest was from the outside (he also spotted two other nests that I hadn't seen), he said it would be really expensive if he broke into the walls from the inside to find and remove the nest. Since it was late in the season, he suggested I wait them out because they'd be gone in a month or so, and he taped over the spot in my dining room where it appeared they were getting into the house. Done and dusted in under an hour!?! After watching too many yellow jackets hang out in the eaves above my door last summer and deciding to wait them out, I was dismayed to see wasps again this year so close to an area frequented by people and pets. The DIY chemical sprays that I investigated had a lot of warnings that seemed problematic; and the wasps seemed particularly vigilant this year. He was super accommodating to my schedule, which was nice. He immediately identified the little buggers as yellow jackets, quickly explained his process, and got to work. I'm allergic and have an actual phobia of bees/wasps. I though it was very sensitive of him to spare me the scary details. About a week later, the leftover yellow jackets were still hanging around, so I asked Dan about it and he said he would come back out to check it out. Yep, another 5 star review for Dan. We discovered that bees were coming in through one of our rooms at about 10pm on a Wednesday. We called Dan the following day...and he was booked, but came over at 6pm. At first we were both sure that the bees were coming in through our attic. Dan crawled up into our hot and uncomfortable attic in full bee gear and came down drenched in sweat. Instead of being discouraged...he said, "Guess they aren't up there". He then found the source of how they were entering our house. They were coming in through a tiny hole in the closet. He spent 2.5 hours total to take care of a pretty rough problem and only charged us for 2. Dan took care of an impressive aerial yellowjacket nest in our back yard. It was the size of a basketball, about 15 feet up in a tree and only a few feet from our neighbors' bedroom window. I found Dan thanks to Yelp, and with his 5-star rating I figured I couldn't go wrong. I called at around 10:00 am on a Saturday, and he was here by 4:00pm to take care of the nest. He was here for less than an hour, and the nest & its inhabitants are history. He seemed to enjoy explaining the to us the various habits of the yellowjackets, and he even hung a trap to take care of the stragglers. He really told me everything I needed to know about our biting insects (yellowjackets) and how to proceed once they died off. Even after spending a good 45 minutes at our house, there was no charge. Dan and his wife are awesome - super friendly and knowledgable about bees and wasps! We had Dan come out for a consultation where we had a common yellowjacket infestation in our attic and top rooms. After educating us about the particular behavior of these yellowjackets, he suggested that we not perform the more expensive (and destructive) nest removal, because they are naturally dying at the end of the season and won't be an issue soon. The problem is indeed lessening now and we're happy we didn't have to cut open a wall and spend money when it wasn't needed. Problem solved. Within two days of reaching out via email, Karin (BizOps Manager) had me on the schedule for an appointment. One day later she offered an appointment a day earlier. Super. It took Dan two seconds to confirm I had a yellowjacket nest and he was able to proceed straight to removing it. The nest was in a wall in my house and was removed by cutting a hole in the inside wall of an upstairs bedroom. Dan was very quick, thorough, and tidy about it. He also used heavy duty plastic to cover the hole until I get around to patching the drywall (I was fully prepared for him to need to cut a hole - his website is clear about that and there's really no way around it). Even though he was fast, he wasn't at all rushed about answering my questions and providing me with some advice about how to avoid having more insects nest in my house in the future (this is the 3rd nest I've had). My wife found some bees or yellow jackets (we weren't sure which) nesting in our external wall in late June 2018. I emailed Dan the Bee Man a video of them going in-and-out of the hole, and they identified them as yellow jackets. Karin got us scheduled for 2 days after my initial email, a Saturday. Both Karin & Don were very responsive & professional from our initial call regarding a yellow jacket infestation on our back porch! On Wednesday Dan came exactly on the scheduled hour Karin had set for us & removed the basketball-sized nest that had been there over a 3 year period of time.
