Alecia walked in and in less than 2 hours completely rearranged the footprint of my kitchen/dining room area in a way that was functional, beautiful, and best of all affordable. She really listened to what I said wasn't working in our current set-up and helped me find solutions that worked within my budget. She looked at what I had and helped me rearrange it so it worked better and I would only have to make limited purchases. I thought that my needs were pretty specific...help with some interior remodeling and new furniture. First the Remodel - Karen's relationships with contractors and vendors is amazing. I loved every single person she put me in contact with. She was quick to tell me where it might be to my financial advantage to work directly with a vendor, and where i might make best use of her involvement. Now for the Interior Design - Holy Cow. Her process is unique, and my needs fell smack in the middle of the COVID situation. I had to put my full faith and trust in her process, which was a bit scary... but I will tell you that hands-down, it was the best, most stress free and effective interior design process i've ever had (and i've done a few houses prior to this one). She has some CRAZY ability to look at your living space and turn it into functional art and that's not all. Her ability to work with you individually and find out what you want and need is paramount to her design strategy. Kitchens,, baths, living rooms and bedrooms.......I don't think she's stoppable! It's been long over-due to write this review of our kitchen/living room remodel. However, with…read morealmost 2 years out, I think we have a good perspective now. April is probably great if you have no idea what you want for your remodel and want her to just design and do it all. However, we knew exactly what we wanted, how we wanted things designed and the specifications we wanted. April did not pay close attentions to all the details we provided her. Cabinets etc were undersized. We had to go back and forth many times. Very cheap materials and labor are used (only single coats of paint and now we have had to repaint most surfaces already with just simple user wear/tear). Cheap material was used in the pantry that we had to have her pull out right after assembly. She spend nearly all of her design hours researching a job that she really could not do. In the end, we are not very happy with most of the work quality or the experience. Next time we need to do a remodel of anything else in our house (which we are starting to plan now for our master bathroom), we will certainly go elsewhere.

Timeline disclosure - I used Robin back in 2009. When I looked for her listing to write a review…read morethen, I couldn't find it. And now I ran into it when I was looking for interior designers. I wanted a bright and bold house 5 years ago. Robin was energetic, and excited to work on picking the colors out. I told her some of my ideas for a bright pop of orange, etc. She ran with my ideas well initially. But as we got into the main living/kitchen areas, I wanted the tone to be more muted, and wanted to opt for something more pastel or neutral. At this point is where my experience with Room Fu went wrong. I was goaded with the words "I thought you wanted to be fun and bold", and ended up picking colors I would be irked by. A purple kitchen next to a golden wall, a concrete colored half wall, and an avocado green hallway. Anywhere I stood in the house, I was looking at at least five colors. We didn't enjoy it at all. There was no place to escape the loud colors and create a tranquil corner, something I had hoped the kitchen/breakfast area would be. It was an over-the-top version of what I had wanted. End of last year, we finally painted the house an all-over neutral, and MAN I was so happy. It finally stopped looking like a clown house. I've done a good bit of remodel/redecorating since then, and never once has anyone else tried to push me so far beyond my tastes. They all realize it is my home, and ultimately I have to love it, no matter whether that makes me "fun and bold" or not.
