FYI - this location only does hair!…read more they used to do nails. The owner is very lovely if you need your hair done! Also, she can recommend a woman on the peninsula who does nails, but you will have to schedule in advance . If you need some thing done sooner, you'll have to go to the nail bar in Traverse City

3-stars for the product/s used, 5 for the facility and people. This shellac sh*t sucks! This is the…read more2nd manicure that's used shellac, in-turn with the 1st shellac manicure tying as the worst I've ever had! (Late to the manicure party - particularly the gel-kind - I've still had several dozen manicures over the years. There've been issues here and there, but nothing like the outcome from the use of this shellac sh*t.) Should I get another manicure in this area I will be specific in seeking a place that does NOT use the product. My nails were done on a Wednesday afternoon (and they were super-cute!) By Saturday afternoon I was back in getting my chipped index finger fixed. Sunday my other index finger chipped. In less than a weeks time I had chips in 4 nails (not including the index fingers). One week and one day in the polish lifted and peeled on both middle fingers. (The silver lining, I suppose: I wasn't flipping you off! I was showing you my defective manicure...) I'm guessing I COULD have gone back for the other index finger to be fixed, but not having had this as my experience (with the exception of the prior months shellac sh*t manicure) I was sensitive to calling back. No reflection on the facility or the people. The facility is clean, bright, and cheery with ample parking. The people are friendly, attentive, and fun/funny. Their prices are in-line with other salons. The problem is the only option they have for manicures is with the shellac sh*t. Thus, short of their coming up with other gel offerings, I won't get another manicure with them... :( Did I mention shellac gel S*CKS?! K. It does. End of story.

Honestly, if I could give it a 3.7, that would be a little more accurate. I would say my rating is…read morestill a little up in the air. I've been here twice. My first experience was mediocre, but my second was much better...so far... My husband and I moved from Kansas to Michigan this year and I'm used to superior dip nail service. I never had probs with lifting, breaking, polish chips, or anything else - ever between fills (I went once a month because I don't have time to go more often mainly). I admit, I have high standards, however; once I find a nail professional that does a fantastic job, I stick with that person and I tip really well. In doing this, I expect my nails to look nearly perfect. I get designs from Pinterest when I want designs. My former nail lady was always able to accommodate. I wish she would move to MI. Until then, I will keep searching u til I can find quality service like what she always gave. Like I said, I've had a much better experience the second time. I booked with a tech named Tina. Although she only "dipped" my nails once, so far they look great and I've had no issues. This is week 2. When I need a fill again, if these last, I will book with her again, and if not, I will try someone else. I figure trying three times is a fair assessment of whether this is where I want to get my nails done or not. It's a 45 min drive from my house so it has to be worth the trip! The vibe is "interesting" being inside Meijer grocery store. The only real thing that matters to me is that it's clean and instruments are properly sanitized, which both appear to be from what I've seen.

All three of us were seated together , 2 out of 3 were strarted on time-, we were all pleased with our pedicures and the price was reasonable. We were pleasantly surprised that the vibe was quite nice for being inside a Meijer store. They were very busy while we were there, in my experience, is a very good sign.
