We stopped here to look at leotards and the owner was there and so helpful with finding the correct sizes. They were very patient and recommended different styles and sizes while my daughter tried them on. I can't believe some of the negative reviews that they are getting. We have been going to dance depot since my daughter was two and needed her first pair of ballet shoes. They weren't even in their new building yet. I've always been treated with kindness when shopping here. The staff is very knowledgeable and I have always had a great experience shopping here. They have a great selection. The store is clean and well organized. They know our dance studio so they know exactly what leotard or shoe the teacher wants for the class which is super helpful!!! I drive my little dancer all the way from Boca because the owners are SO KNOWLEDGEABLE and helpful. They understand the way dance wear and specialty shoes are supposed to fit. I called this store looking for a pair of pointe shoes for my daughter, the women on the phone was rude and condescending, I was asking about a certain size and fit , she kept correcting me and treating me like I was stupid. I am not a pointe shoe expert in anyway and was simply asking a question, but she kept snapping at me and correcting me. After reading some of these reviews I know now the type of service you get when you go to this store as well. I will take my business elsewhere where I am treated with respect and not made to feel like an idiot. read more

The worst I've been treated in along time. Any retail customer walking through the doors these days should at the least be welcomed with some respect. Find a different place to shop for your own peace of mind. The two women in this shop (troubled owners I would presume) were outright condesending and abusive. This store should not be recomended by anyone of sound mind. Their prices are the highest by comparision and it's just the conveinence of being so close to the childrens dance classes that brought me in. Please for the sake of your children find another place for dance clothes and tap shoes. These women don't deserve to be selling hotdogs at ballparks never mind what service they believe they are providing, it just was not worth the trip no matter how close it was. They even went so far as to treat me this way in front of my children, ages 10 and younger. read more

We shop here all the time for my girls' dance gear. They are kind and helpful every time we are here. Their things are a little more expensive than discount stores online but the kids get to try on their shoes and all before we buy them and the ladies here always make sure they are fitted properly. read more

Don't understand the previous comments, I found the ladies extremely friendly and knowledgeable. And the prices were reasonable and were near the price my girlfriend paid for shoes when she started taking Zumba 5 years ago. Tried purchasing on line and the fit wasn't right; better to shop local and get that personal service. Great selection and finally got them in a color other than standard black. I have never been anywhere with such rude staff. The shoes are extremely overpriced (ladies ballroom were minimum $70, I have purchased the same pair for $35). I went to get new ballroom shoes and was also in the market for jazz and character shoes. Before the sales lady could get to me, I overheard her informing her current customer that the staff will not under any circumstances tell you what shoe you are buying because 'you will just get it cheaper online.' Thanks, I hadn't thought of that. I came in for a service. Maybe offer your shoes at a competitive rate with glowing service and I'd be willing to shop here. Now, forget it. I'm shocked by the repetitive negative reviews of this store. My daughter and I went and yes, the prices are higher than online discount stores BUT we were in a time crunch so we shopped there. The two owners were there when we went. They were very nice and actually kept the store open after their set closing time because my daughter was not finished shopping. They have a really nice selection of leotards and although her character shoes were pricey I felt her jazz and ballet shoes were a reasonable deal. She loved her leotards they imported from Paris. They were very helpful and personable with us. I would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone looking for a local dance store. They've been in business a long time so I can't imagine they are so aggregiously rude. Shop there and you will see that it's a decent and well run establishment. read more

I have to agree with some of the other reviews I have read. My wife and daughter shop there all the time because it is the only dance store in the area. They are extremely overpriced. Almost every item my wife bought yesterday I found online at a store in Miami that ships for free half the price. I understand you need to make money but keep this up and you can't stay in business. read more

The staff here really takes time to get the right fit for every dancer, whether it's leotards, shoes, or tights. They know what each studio requires and go above and beyond to help make sure each student has what they need. The prices may be over what the big box online dancewear companies are selling things for, but you cannot try on online clothing or shoes. The people stating that they felt like they were treated badly because the owner wouldn't give them the size of a shoe they just took the time to fit make me laugh... they want to utilize the store to try on items or touch and feel the shoes and clothing and then turn around and purchase from a computer screen for less. read more

Wow! The worst I have ever been treated in a store! I went in to make an exchange - I am visiting from Philly and my daughter received a lovely leotard and ballet slippers as a gift from her great grandmother. Unfortunately, the shoes were the wrong size and the leotard was not the color her dance school requires. The minute we walked into the store and asked about an exchange, the sales woman was openly hostile to us even before she saw the items. She then insisted the shoes were dirty and worn (my daughter tried on the shoes and walked across the carpeted living room) and her rudeness to us increased simply because I explained, quite calmly, that they had never been worn. The shoes still had the original creases from the packaging they were in. She then accused us of retuning a worn leotard as well, even though the tags were on and it was clearly brand new. When my husband got upset and told her this was the worst service he had ever received (remember, we are from Philly which is a pretty tough town), she literally kicked him out of the store and threatened to call the police! My child is in 3 dance classes and when we decided to go to the store to try to exchange the items I had every intention of buying tap and jazz shoes and even a few more leotards, but I ended up leaving the store as fast as I could. I did not get a chance to see the prices (there was no time with all the accusations!) but if the store is as overpriced as everyone says, and you have no where else to go, consider discountdancesupply.com. Stay as far away from this place as you can, especially if you have little kids with you! read more
