The check-in person was super welcoming and told me about some of the other dance formats offered there. This dance studio caters to both children and adults. So you will see kids running around, which is ok, but I am not really used to. The class started on time. The instructor had great energy and encouraged us to have fun and do things our own style. I haven't been dancing in a while, so I knew it would be a good challenge for me. I really had a lot of fun. My only surprise is that the classes are only 60 mins. I think they ought to be 70 minutes to include a proper 5 min warm-up and 5-minute cool-down. There wasn't a lot of warming up in the beginning of this particular class. I've taken adult dance classes for years and I am used to something that include some warm-up movements to get the rotating joints going, like neck rolls, shoulder rolls, and hip and lower back movements. The class did include a relaxing cool down with stretching for the lower body and upper body. I plan to take more Hip-Hop style classes. They offer Cardio Hip-Hop, Beginner Hip-Hip and more advanced levels, Sensual Dance, Twerk, Ballet, Shuffle, Street Jazz and a lot more. I plan to try about 5 more formats and sign-up for one class for the summer session. I highly recommend this place!

They have a variety of choices, but I can only speak to the modern dance class. Both the beginner and advanced dance classes are well taught - starting with warm-up, then some basic across-the-floor steps or technique, and ending with some choreo. The beginner modern class is every Thursday at 7:30PM and advanced is every Thursday at 7:00PM, located in 2 separate studios. It is a little bit difficult to find, but it is located in the back of a huge bldg complex, with plenty of parking available in the lot. The beginner class is perfect for those who either have not danced before or have some modern dance experience from the past, but have not danced for a while. The advanced class is for those who have some dance experience. The teachers are wonderful and really tailor the lessons to each individual. My only gripe is the cost of the classes. $17/class if you want to take one 1.5 hour class. Or you can get the 5 class card or the 10 class card option, which is cheaper (these cards have time limits though). I had bought the 5 class card once, and am taking a break as it is too expensive to maintain.

The instructor let us know that if you take the regular classes (membership) then you do way more working out, she was just easy on us since it was a party. As far as the pole class itself, it was very, very hard. I realized that I have NO upper body strength. I mean I really don't see how strippers (oops exotic dancers) do it. If you're looking for this type of workout I would definitely visit this establishment. The instructors were very nice and professional. Plus its Black Owned and I'll definitely support that. You can actually drop in for the exotic classes on Sat. and I believe you have to see if there is room for the pole class. I believe the classes are $20. They also offer specialty classes, like "Booty Poppin and Shakin" "Video Vixen" "Lap Dance Specials" etc... Going here, I've gained a great perspective on the athleticism that you must have in order to be a stripper AND look good doing it.
