When searching for dance lessons for my wedding I came across Dance U2. After talking with Tony, I realized he was the right fit for us. Tony can teach any dance such Salsa , Bachata, Two Step, Swing, and Argentine Tango etc. so it was nice that we had a choice when picking which style we wanted to dance to. My fiancé and I had no previous experience with Salsa dancing, but Tony made it so easy for us to learn! He taught us the basic connection principles and before we knew it we were doing many different types of and dips and tricks at an advance level. You will leave Tony's dance lesson not only feeling more in-tune with your partner physically, but emotionally as well. He has taught us many valuable dance lessons and life lessons in the process. Our time with him was always enjoyable! I would also like to add that we did this during the COVID pandemic and Tony's space was always sparkling clean, hand sanitizer available at all times, and he always wore a mask. I can't believe I forgot to write a review of this guy's class. Guess I was trying to forget the awful treatment and lack of professionalism I received from the instructor. Tony was incredibly rude toward me when I attended my first dance session with him. The other students were more helpful and polite than the instructor himself. I'm not the most coordinated person. I'll admit that and appreciate any person's patience when teaching me a sport or activity that requires a decent amount of coordination. I believe I was learning Polka or foxtrot at his class, but I was struggling with getting the coordination down since I was a first-timer. Tony was going about making sure that the students were on the right track. He looked frustrated that I wasn't getting it, and finally started to berate me. He asked me: "Why don't you understand how to do it correctly? Can you not understand English?" I was stunned and furious to say the least. He wrote me off as a foreigner unable to understand English based on looks instead of being patient like a teacher should be. I'm a native English speaker and was born in the US, unlike him, but saying something hurtful so casually like that wouldn't be acceptable even if the person wasn't a native English speaker. I've heard that South America had horrendous racial tensions, so I could see that Tony brought its racism with him when he came to the United States. If you're not an Anglo or Hispanic person, and don't have any experience with dancing, then expect Tony to say something rude when you don't understand his dance lessons on your first try. I excused myself and went to cry in the bathroom for a few minutes for the poor treatment. Then discreetly left the building. Lo and behold, the man had the gall to follow me to my car! He even positioned himself so that I couldn't slam my door without hitting him. He started advertising his other classes, and gave half-hearted encouragement since I was a beginner. As far as I'm concerned, the "encouragement" was too little to late when he burned a bridge by criticizing my English listening skills. I won't try learning how to dance again thanks to this man even if it's for my own wedding. read more

Tony has been a great dance teacher. I have been taking group lessons and private lessons for salsa for one month now and I have learned a lot of new steps and the technique of how to do the steps properly. He is very detailed in explaining how to do the moves in the most efficient way, starting from the very basics. The Sunday class where he teaches salsa, swing and country two step and Argentine tango is so much fun! I also like the Wednesday Batchata and Kizomba class. One of the best parts is when we go out dancing after class as a group to practice. I feel much more confident when I go out dancing then when I did before I started. I appreciate that Tony is patient and kind with all the students, no matter their dance level. Sometimes the more difficult or advanced moves take a lot of repetition, but he never makes us feel rushed. I have learned a lot in class -- even more than just dancing! And I recommend Tony's classes to anyone with an interest in learning partner dance. read more

We found Dance U2 because we were looking for dance lessons for our wedding dance! We chose Dance U2 because of the great reviews! Tony greeted us with respect and offered several different classes of dances to teach. They ranged from salsa, bachata, two step, tango to several more! We chose salsa! My fiancé and I had no previous salsa dancing experience. Within 2-3 lessons Tony had us moving very fluid and doing advance moves. It is amazing how easy it was for Tony to make us feel comfortable while teaching us our wedding routine at the same time. Our routine consists of spins, variations of dips, and eye catching tricks with a nifty entrance! It was definitely an experience. Contacted Tony after seeing good reviews and I don't know how it's possible that this was the same Tony. Tony may be a character but my husband and I both believe he may have been under the influence when he was working with us. We were looking for one lesson to learn some fundamentals that we could use during our wedding. He asked us to text him 10 minutes before our lesson so he could show us where to go. We were 20 minutes early and texted him, didn't hear anything. Time of our appointment comes, texted him, didn't hear anything. 5 minutes past our appointment, call him, call is ignored. Text him again that if we don't hear from him by 10 minutes past our appointment we'll assume he needed to cancel. He calls us right at the 10 minute mark and tells us he's just arrived. He comes to meet us and is stumbling, sweating, and muttering as he leads us to the apartment that he's converted into a studio. The apartment is extremely hot and all of us are very sweaty. He proceeds to listen to the song we've chosen and he tried to persuade us to find another song because ours is too fast (it's You Make It Easy by Jason Aldean- not too fast). We politely decline and he then starts teaching us a choreographed dance including doing some strange "washing board?" move- very much overboard. At the end of the lesson he took out a notebook and slowly started scribbling a statement about releasing liability from COVID-19, asking both of our names and contact information and signatures. He then tells us we'll need 20 more lessons to learn our dance. We declined and he tried to persuade us to buy 10, then 5, then 1. We continue to decline and he gets more agitated that we "don't want to finish our wedding dance" and tries to get us to commit to a date for our next lesson. At this point we're really uncomfortable and rush out. I'd highly recommend looking elsewhere for private lessons for a wedding first dance- it was extremely uncomfortable though definitely a story we'll be passing down. read more

I wanted to learn Salsa and Bachata, and was able to grasp on the basics fairly quickly with Tony"s guidance and assistance. Tony is absolutely the most amazing dance instructor. We took private lessons and he choreographed our wedding dance. He went above and beyond each and every lesson.
