"Screen printing + Auburn Dog Treats" This is a surprisingly cute store in the center of downtown. We had the good fortune of talking with the owner, who explained the business for us. They specialize in all kinds of specialty printing for promotions. In the back, they have a good size printing operation, but they are expanding more into retail, promotional items, as seen at the front of the store. As you might expect from the name of the business, they have lots of items for dogs, such as specialty Auburn dog biscuits. The owner suggested we feed one to our Doberman, but she said she could not discern the difference between a regular dog biscuit and an Auburn dog biscuit. (The dog I mean, not the owner.) Be sure to say hi to the several pups in the store. One of them was the model for the store logo. To my surprise, they also had a good selection of Growlers, which for those who are not beer drinkers, are large thermoses for holding lots of beer. I'm pretty sure the beer is not included however. So overall, a fun place to visit for both humans and dogs. Be sure to try the Auburn dog treat and tell me what you think. read more

Dancing Dog is now under new ownership and management. I went in a couple of weeks ago to get advice and have a new image burned onto my screen frame for a personal project printing on wood. I was greeted with a smile even though some printing businesses only do their own screens. Kathryn replaced the image with the new art I supplied for a very reasonable charge. The screen looked great but I had trouble with the printing process and took it back. Kathryn looked it over and discovered that there was a problem with the PDF images I supplied, she fixed them, remade the image on the screen. Perfect and all smiles. I've come here for 3 separate occasions in which I needed about 30 shirts each time. The owner is super helpful and the most recent time I came in about 10 minutes before closing. I felt pretty awful about doing that, but she still helped me out, and stayed 20 minutes longer past closing. She was so nice the whole time, and always makes really great quality prints that don't wear off. I'll definitely keep coming back in the future whenever I need more prints. read more

Such a wonderful business! Found this place just wandering around beautiful downtown Auburn as I was looking for a gift for my moms birthday. Saw they did photo transfer onto a variety of shirts or other gear I was so excited to present my mom with the best present! Within 20 minutes the woman helping us had , pick the right gear, designed the shirt & the price was very reasonable! She was so kind, super helpful, and understood we didn't want to come back later, so she printed the shirt right there & we were able to take the sweatshirt home right away! Very disappointed. As a new business owner I know the value of going to other local businesses. Upon dropping off 2 shirts and a simple design, the job wasn't completed after 3 weeks. No phone calls or emails with follow up's. In the end I was told they don't do small orders, which would have been good to know prior to wasting time. Felt like the owners didn't care which shows no support or respect for other busniness owners in the community of Auburn. And that's a shame. read more

This place is amazing. My son wanted to make a special shirt for his brother (and a matching one for himself) for Christmas. He created a design and took it to Dancing Dog to be printed. The order came back very quickly and looked perfect. My son is a child who ordered two t shirts--but Rick treated him like a business owner ordering hundreds of shirts--couldn't ask for better service. We really tried to give these folks our business's screen printing orders and keep our business local but to deal with Rick is like dealing with a child. Be prepared to mold your orders according to what they are willing to do as they are not going to bend in any way to provide what it is your order needs. He's defensive if you even ask, he's EASILY confused, can't remember things, let's you know how they can't afford to do this or that and as a result are limited on graphic software, he let's you know how he's not computer or software savvy, therefore has to wait until his son can come and help him with it. Send him artwork and it's likely he will have trouble opening it, he let's you know HOW MUCH HE HAD TO DO to get something done instead of just doing it because it's his business to do so. He get's irritated and flustered when you ask a seemingly common sense question or challenge him when he plays dumb etc. Our one large order we picked up was done correctly, priced fairly but I was on pins and needles until we picked everything up. He called me numerous times to confirm things we had already discussed in detail AND there were notes already confirming what he was asking on each item to be screen printed ... They may be totally competent but his customer service methods leave me wondering if this business is competent to handle our business. Nothing will be done in a hurry at Dancing Dog Productions either. Rick, if you read this, get some customer service training. Nobody wants to hear about all the problems. They want to hear about solutions. read more
