Rick was polite, informative, and easy to have in the home but most importantly, he did a tremendous job. The price seemed fair if a bit more than what we had hoped for. However, we did not want to gamble to save a few hundred dollars with plumbing work done behind a wall. Rick gave us absolute confidence in his ability to not only get it right but as I say, do a very fine job. Rick was natural and friendly with my mother who is a senior and who actually paid for this work. We will certainly consider LP&H in the future.

Trevor came, asked a bunch of questions I had a hard time answering then inserted a camera into the drain to take a look. We live in an old old house with clay pipes that have disintegrated so we pretty much had no pipes for the sewage to drain. They started work on the Monday of the next week. Basement had to be excavated, pipes replaced, holes filled, basement cleaned up as best as the could. They were efficient, came each day 15 minutes early and worked most of the day. Trevor took care of filling in the insurance company with all the pictures and paperwork. I would have no problem calling them in again or referring them to anyone.

Thorough communications, safety precautions, friendly staff, prompt service at a reasonable price -…read moreoverall impressive service! With a team of folks working the in-take calls, I was impressed with Kim's friendliness and thorough attention to detail. She proactively told me what to expect with the service call and re the timing, and followed-up with emails that provided photos of the technicians who would be visiting (great safety precaution). Zahir and La Aung were my plumbers and I felt comforted by Zahir's friendly and thorough explanation of how they would undertake the job. He promptly provided me with a quote before starting the necessary work. The job seemed reasonably priced, particularly since it was in a very awkwardly cramped space (with a pipe leak behind the HVAC). They made no complaints at all about the awkward space and conducted their work efficiently. Payment was a breeze with their mobile tablet (that accepts credit card payments) and he had me check my satisfaction with their work before processing payment. Zahir also pointed out some redundant piping that he discovered that could be addressed prophylactically to prevent similar issues in the future and the office provided me a written quote for that work. Hoerner also agreed they would come back again (at no charge) if there were any issues with the work done today. Derek from their Heating (HVAC) team also came by to help with some questions I had about the gas lines, and even helped me restart the pilot light in my gas fireplace. Super friendly. What great service!

I like huskies (dogs), but I love Husky Heating and Air Conditioning more! Our weather has been…read moredreadfully cold, with temperatures around the -25ºC mark, with the wind chill (-13ºF). Husky replaced our HVAC several years ago, and we never had a problem with our furnace. Last week, I noticed the temperature dropped a few degrees, and it took a long time for the heat to come back up. This never happened before, even when our weather was colder. I turned the furnace on and off, and restarted the thermostat, which did the trick, but I noticed it was misbehaving again. It was -26ºC this past weekend, and I called the afterhours service department. We discussed the situation and rates, but I made a judgement call to wait until Monday for a technician to visit. We had mini electric heaters in case the temperature dropped dramatically. On Monday morning, the office called to say our regular technician who I requested was unavailable, but they would send someone else right away. The furnace decided to play nice by the time the technician arrived - don't you hate when that happens? After checking the furnace and thermostat, he wasn't able to find any issues, but he did show me how to spot an error code for future reference. We always have our HVAC maintained by Husky, and find their service is friendly and efficient. I'm just grateful a technician came out so quickly, and that our furnace is working fine now!

We called them late on Tuesday and they suggested they come and do a maintenance. They booked us for the following day. Glad we did. It turns out we had a blocked drain. Gregor cleaned it up and then then did a service on the unit. Was a very reasonable price and I feel like Husky really came through for us. No surprise there. Dmitri and his team did a great job on the original install. Highly recommend them for your air con and heating needs. They service the GTA. Note - they gave us a window for the service call and then called when they were on the way to us.

Belyea Brothers Heating and Cooling - Hello from Belyea Brothers!

    Belyea Brothers Heating and Cooling

WARNING: Do NOT use Belyea Bros…read more My recent experience with them has left me disgusted by two separate incidents of their dishonesty. (Note: all I needed was for my boiler to be replaced) 1) The Belyea Bros agent told me that my hydronic heating system was installed incorrectly and needed to be ripped out and installed correctly. For this, I was given a quote of $25,000 (compare this to the five other quotes of $8,000-$12,000 I got to replace my boiler). After having to cancel a scheduled installation by an HVAC company that turned out to be unfamiliar with hydronic in-floor heating systems, I misinterpreted this as evidence that Belyea Bros were correct, and that my system was installed incorrectly (Note: this was NOT the case. My system is installed correctly, and works properly.) So I asked for a second consult with the agent (Jamieson) from Belyea Bros, who reviewed with me the system he had detailed on his first visit, drawing exactly the same diagram (with the 5 pumps and buffer tank he claimed were necessary to preserve the life of my boiler and prevent it from "short cycling"). He wrote up an updated quote at the same price, and scheduled the work to be done on Tuesday-Wednesday of the following week. 2) On this second quote, I discovered that the detailed components that Jamieson described for me in detail and that he drew diagrams for - were not included in the work order! I was being charged for components to be installed that I was not receiving. This work order contained nothing about ripping out and replacing my current regulating system. Apparently, this was not necessary as my system IS INSTALLED CORRECTLY, AND WORKS JUST FINE! So, had I not noticed the discrepancies, Belyea Bros was about to charge me $25,000 for the simple replacement of my boiler - a job that should cost $8,000-$12,000!!! To make matters worse, when I called Jamieson after having detected these discrepancies, he pretended he had made a mistake, and offered me a $6,000 discount (so, a new price of $19,000 for a $8,000-$12,000 job!) as though he was being generous! NOTE: In the end (after five weeks without heat and hot water), I scheduled the boiler replacement to be done by a company that specialises in hydronic heating systems (at a price of $11,500). They were immediately familiar with my system (which had confused contractors more familiar with forced air heating systems). When I shared that a particular company had tried to rip me off, the contractor interrupted me, saying, "Let me guess. Was it Belyea Brothers?" Apparently my experience was not uncommon.
