I have a torn labrum and 10 years later I CAN DUMBBELL PRESS AGAIN. Dr. Dang has helped me getting back to doing the things I love and with confidence. I've dislocated my shoulder countless times after my initial one in 2013. It would ALWAYS dislocate; I'm talking about a dislocation every couple months. This would always set me back on my fitness journey because I'm forced to rest. I've gone through traditional PT with Kaiser, talked with orthopedic surgeons, and visited chiropractors many times but none have of them have changed my life the way Tony has. Tony's skill set, techniques, and methodology have been immensely eye opening and hands down the best I've ever seen. His knowledge of the how the body works and functions as a unit is something you don't see at your regular doctors office or at a "retail" hospital. I'm very picky with who I work with because most doctors in the past have always given me the same answer or tell me to do the same generic shoulder work outs to strengthen other parts of my shoulder. It wasn't until I met Tony where we discovered how underdeveloped other smaller muscles groups were near my shoulder/back. Once we started tackling that and 2-3 months later the progression and difference has been night and day. My shoulder feels WAY more stable than it has ever been in years. I can reach for my phone on my nightstand without my shoulder feeling unstable or ready to slip out. I've been able to do a dumbbell press again after yeaaaars of staying away due to my shoulder instability. Tony helped with identifying where the root cause of my problems were and in retraining my brain and body to fire the correct muscles needed for a task. I can finally play basketball with confidence and go for rebounds without worrying about my shoulder slipping out either. We just recently started working on tackling my recent knee pain and I'm already seeing results after 2 weeks. It's crazy. The root issue here is how my ankles are when I walk. This one's going to be a tough journey like my shoulder but Im going to remain patient and trust Tony as I have been and I know I will get better! Most of the results came from doing the homework he gave me and as long as you stay on it, you will see results. Tony is the real deal. He's a great, down to earth guy and very very passionate about what he does. If you're looking for a PT, Tony Dang is without a doubt the man. Thanks again for all your help Tony!

Some background: I've had 2 shoulder surgeries and have been dealing with shoulder issues since 2004. I recently had a setback where I was experiencing neck/shoulder tightness and a tingling sensation down my right arm. No amount of tiger balm or Theragun work was helping. I went to Tony for help and he immediately knew what my underlying issue was: lack of external rotation and an over-reliance on other muscles. Over the course of 6 weeks, he worked on my soft tissue and showed me some very basic external rotation shoulder exercises. All the exercises he showed me were very reasonable and helped establish a very solid foundation. We moved very slowly and I never felt like we were rushing. 6 weeks later and my pain is noticeably less severe. I will continue ramping up my exercises and hopefully come back for a check up in a month or two!

One of the most personable PTs you'll ever meet! His goal is to get you back to being healthy and moving the way you want to and are meant to. I first reached out to him after 3 months out of ACL surgery. Tony being a former athlete himself, easily related to the cause of this and helped me get cleared to start playing again. However, rather than just focusing on purely my ACL, he looked at the functionality of my entire body. Tony quickly accessed that I had some other nagging issues which I later addressed from all the injuries I have had. As an athlete, when you are young, you do not realize how important your body is and most athletes play through injuries often. The list of injuries that he has helped me with aside from my ACL are: ankle issues, hip flexor issues and shoulder issues. If you're looking for a PT that not only helps your body through the usage of soft tissue work, teaching you new exercises/movements and explains all your questions in a way that is understandable, Tony is your guy! Highly recommend!

My shoulder is so much better now! Would give Dr.Dang over 5 stars if I could! Have recommended many of my family and friends over and will continue to do so :)

I told her that CA legislation specifically denotes that healthcare providers may not charge fees for filling out forms or providing information in regards to applying for public benefit programs, which includes disability. She acted like I was stupid and kept repeating, "We're a private clinic, so we can." I asked her to clarify what the difference was whether they were private or not, because the legislation does not make any differentiation as to whether or not it applies to private clinics. It says healthcare providers, full stop. She literally just repeated the same sentence to everything I asked in a derisive voice, which doesn't answer my question whatsoever. I'm attaching screenshots of the govt. website that denotes the specific article I'm referencing. Without this information, I'd be unable to apply for disability so I was forced into paying for it, but it was really a disgusting interaction with an employee who clearly doesn't know enough to explain why they're charging when the law specifically states they should not. If there is somehow a loophole that allows them to, then the staff should be well informed and willing to explain why this is something they're able to do. If they don't know, they should be asking someone who does. Regardless, the way this looks to me is they don't even know the exact legislature and are just ripping people off for information they're legally entitled to - for free - in order to apply for public services. Had she at least been pleasant, I don't think I'd be as upset. But repeating the same sentence as if I'm an idiot doesn't answer my questions, and I heard you the first time. I'll be looking into legal counsel to verify whether or not they truly are legally allowed to charge people just because they're a "private clinic," since their uneducated and rude employees clearly cannot explain why.

I am a knowledgeable medical consumer, and I was impressed by both his long experience and manner. However, my shoulder replacement is one of his failures and I am left with 30% use of my arm. Even Dr. I said "I am sorry you were part of my learning curve." I WENT TO HIM BECAUSE OF HIS EXPERIENCE! It turns out he didn't realize the prosthesis was too large, which he only discovered during surgery number 2 to correct what he thought was a tendon rubbing against the implant. By then it was too late. I recovered from that surgery only to find that I still have poor ROM and constant pain. What still bothers me is how he could not know the implant was too large. Weren't he and his team supposed to plan out the surgery using information from the CAT scan to avoid such an occurrence? It took 11 months of repeated agonizing weeks during which I could not drive, care for myself, or even cut my own food before he decided to operate again. That was 7 months ago and I know now I will forever be in pain and have limited motion as a result of the shoulder replacement. I only discovered this when I finally sought another surgeon's input and upon viewing my x-rays, he was able to explain why I continue to have pain and poor use of my arm. Oh, and I also have tingling in my fingers since surgery #1. I can barely type. And I'm a writer. As horrible as my surgical experience was, getting though to him or to his people and going for appointments was even worse. I'd wait days for a call back, which often was simply ignored. If he hadn't given me his cell phone number I never would have gotten through. I only texted him when I was in agony and he responded "your nerves are on fire." That was November. I had the second surgery in March. So you can see how slowly things progressed. Sure he's affable. And you can't argue with his resume. But I am not one of his wins. For the rest of my life, I will be crippled due to his failure.

Given that he works with people who have broken bones and may need surgery, he really should be less self centered and more compassionate. He should also be sensitive to the fact that many of us wait patiently in his waiting room for several hours until we finally see him. During my first appointment with Dr. Alnanjjar, I initially thought I was in good hands. My view of him later changed because of his beside manner. The short of my experience is that I had a broken hand and my finger was severed. I was rushed to the emergency room. The attendant in the emergency room sewed my finger back on and put me in a temporary cast. I was then referred to Dr. Alnajjar for follow up. Dr. Alnajjar initially told me that I only had to be in a cast for 3 weeks. Accordingly we scheduled a follow up appointment 3 weeks out to get the cast removed. Two weeks later, i.e., one week before my scheduled visit to remove the cast, his office called and told me that I would have to wait another week for the cast to be removed because the doctor was going on vacation. I asked if I could see another doctor in the office. I was told that Dr. Alnanjjar was the only hand specialist in the office. I asked the staff person to please have the doctor call me. When the doctor called me back, he was very abrupt and kept talking over me. He would not let me get a word in edgewise. He told me that he does not create his patients problems. That he just fixes their problems. He even asked me if I made money this way. He was referring to the fact that I was trying to talk to him. It was clear that he was annoyed that I requested a call from him, and that he did not want to be bothered. He also mentioned the trip he planned to Panama. I simply wanted to ask him if the medical assistant in his office could remove the cast in his absence. When he finally stopped badgering me and listened to my question, and to my description of my healing process, he agreed that the cast could be removed by his medical assistant. He also agreed that I was healing well and that I did not need to wear the cast for an additional week while he was out of town. However, it must be empathized that I had to struggle to get this doctor to let me speak. Had he listened in the first instance, our call would have been much shorter. For those of you who have ever been in a cast, an extra week of wearing a cast feels like a long time. Particularly when it is not medically necessary. I was looking forward to having my cast removed after 3 weeks. I did not think I should have to wear it for another week, and continue to miss out on work, because the good doctor was going on vacation. He should have planned to have another doctor cover for him while he was out of town. The good doctor must have said something negative about me to his staff. After that phone call, his staff was very rude to me. That created more stress when I trying to heal. Also, as stated above, each time I went to his office, I had to wait over two hours to be seen. I am self employed and did not have insurance to cover an unexpected accident that would keep me out of work for 3 weeks. The good doctor could have been more sensitive to that as well. It should also be noted that after my cast was removed, I asked the doctor to take an X-ray to make sure my hand healed properly. He agreed. I believe that is something he should have thought of without suggestion from me.
