Have to update this after attending another PT establishment of the same price point. The PTs here are great and very knowledgeable, but I feel that the amenities/overall experience is not as good. Examples below. - Scheduling/Booking: At other PT establishments, I had no trouble booking online. Here, I'm unable to change my appointments online. I have to call (don't always get an answer) or text a number and coordinate with someone back and forth. Compared to online booking, this takes much longer and is overall less convenient. - Take home exercises: Here, my PT will text/airdrop me videos of my exercises and verbally give me sets and reps. After my sessions, this requires me to take notes of my own sessions and dig through my camera roll to find my exercises. At other PT establishments, my PT would update my routine online after every session. Their online platform let me see videos, and had notes regarding weights/sets/reps. Same concept, but I found that other establishments fostered a better client/patient experience by doing a bit more work in the back end. I'll reiterate that the PTs I've worked with here are excellent, their quality of care and expertise during the sessions is great. However, I do think other establishments with similar price points have shown more care for client/patient experience outside of the sessions, with easier scheduling and more efficient ways to access your care. Ultimately, this place is in a very central location for me, which beats out that of other establishments. I just hope to see some improvement in the areas not related to location and quality of care during sessions. read more

Best in LA. I've been seeing Vince for PT for a couple of months now after a debilitating neck injury. I took a leap of faith and bought a package of sessions as a last resort after seeing chiropractors and massage therapists. After the assessment, Vince told me that I had been using my neck muscles for all the wrong things and that this had been going on for a long time. He taught me how to strengthen the correct ones, starting with just being able to feel them. I did the exercises daily (with videos he sends me after sessions) and my neck is 95% better after a couple of months and now I'm excited to keep going and see what else in my body could improve. After a back injury last summer I tried a few different physical therapists but wasn't happy with the care I was receiving. Thankfully Dr. Dang was recommended to me. Tony is a great PT, and actually takes the time to listen to you and figure out the underlying root of your problem. In my case, my back issues were related to the fact that I wasn't correctly using my glutes during exercise. Other therapists only focused on the area that was hurting, but not the why or how to fix the problem. With Tony's help I've been learning how to rework my body to not be so back dominant and avoid future injury. Another thing I love about Tony is that he understands how to work with people who are more physical/athletic, which was an important factor for me in trying to find a therapist. I already know how to do basic stretches, I need someone who can provide more of a challenge and who understands that my eventual goal was to get back in the gym. Tony worked with me to make that happen, while also reining me back at the right times to make sure I didn't push myself too hard too soon. I don't live terribly close to the arts district where his studio is, but Dr. Dang makes the drive worth it. Also, the facility he works out of is great and has every piece of equipment you could ever want. There's (limited) parking, a locker room with a shower, and a water station if you bring your own bottle. It's a great space and I'm very happy with the care I've received. Tony has been a delight to work with! I had an ankle sprain that was only supposed to last for 3-4 weeks with basic RICE care, according to primary physicians and chiropractors I saw. I had to walk with crutches. When it got to about week 6 and I still had pain, doctors I saw had conflicting recommendations of continuing to rest or get surgery. I consulted with Tony who, after examination, told me I definitely didn't need surgery for my ankle sprain. After about 3 sessions, I was amazed to be fully mobile without crutches, get active in the gym, and travel confidently. I have a torn labrum and 10 years later I CAN DUMBBELL PRESS AGAIN. Dr. Dang has helped me getting back to doing the things I love and with confidence. I've dislocated my shoulder countless times after my initial one in 2013. It would ALWAYS dislocate; I'm talking about a dislocation every couple months. This would always set me back on my fitness journey because I'm forced to rest. I've gone through traditional PT with Kaiser, talked with orthopedic surgeons, and visited chiropractors many times but none have of them have changed my life the way Tony has. Some background: I've had 2 shoulder surgeries and have been dealing with shoulder issues since 2004. I recently had a setback where I was experiencing neck/shoulder tightness and a tingling sensation down my right arm. No amount of tiger balm or Theragun work was helping. I went to Tony for help and he immediately knew what my underlying issue was: lack of external rotation and an over-reliance on other muscles. Over the course of 6 weeks, he worked on my soft tissue and showed me some very basic external rotation shoulder exercises. I first reached out to him after 3 months out of ACL surgery. Tony being a former athlete himself, easily related to the cause of this and helped me get cleared to start playing again. However, rather than just focusing on purely my ACL, he looked at the functionality of my entire body. Dr. Dang id the best physical therapist I've ever seen! A couple of years ago a dear friend called me in tears because she had injured her back and couldn't lift weights anymore. She was looking for advice and comfort because I had a similar injury, but was in worse shape than I ever was (and I had surgery for my back in 2015). I thought she was headed for surgery for sure. She ended up seeing a couple of different physical therapists and finally found Dr. Dang. Much to my surprise she was back to weightlifting a few months later. So when I started getting hip pain after and during my runs a short while later, what did I do? Unfortunately, I didn't go see Dr. Dang. Instead I went to see another therapist who was closer and was in network. 6 months later I was still in therapy and my hip pain was as bad as ever and my back pain had returned. So I bit the bullet and went to see Dr. Dang. I've been seeing him since August and my experience with him has been different from every other PT I've seen, and I've seen a lot of them. He spends nearly a full hour with you and doesn't send you off to an assistant to do the exercises. Most PTs tell me I should stop running. But Dr. Dang is focused on getting me back to what I love. The biggest difference is he doesn't give up. Most other PTs try a couple of things, and when there's no improvement they seem to blame me for not getting better. Instead, Dr. Dang takes the time to make sure I'm doing the exercises correctly and targeting the right muscles. I still feel like there's a lot of improvement to be had. I went to see Dr. Dang a few weeks ago because both of my hands had been hurting. I originally went to see my GP doctor because I started getting dull pain in both my hands. I was given some ibuprofen for inflammation and sent on my way. The ibuprofen dulled my pain, but it didn't fix the issue. I went back to my GP doctor, and he just brushed me off with more ibuprofen. I was frustrated at that point because I had the nagging pain all day long. A friend recommended I see a physical therapist, so I rang up Dr. Dang. Finally, I had found someone that was taking my issue seriously and not just brushing me off. During our appointment Dr. Dang was asking me all the important question regarding possible injuries and how I normally use my hands. He was caring, patient, knowledgeable, and he didn't make me feel like he had another patient waiting in line the way a lot of doctors make you feel. Dr. Dang was clear on the type of movements I should avoid and gave me specific hand exercises for my recovery. He also instructed me on how to start strengthening my hands so that I can avoid any further injuries in the future. My hand pain has started to abate, and I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I'm super grateful to Dr. Dang for helping me out. I was starting to think that I was stuck with this pain for good, but thanks to him I know that I will be fine once I'm done with therapy. I tore my ACL and had reconstructive surgery in February of 2021 and most recently re-tore it in March of 2023. Had I gone to Dang the first time, I would not be in this position again. With his attention to detail, I immediately feel a difference in not just my knee, but my entire leg as a whole. He analyzes everything around the knee to help strengthen my quads, glutes, hamstrings, and calves. He also focuses on both right and left legs to avoid compensation. I had back surgery in 2018, and since then, I've seen several physical therapists. Most of them prescribed simple programs with basic exercises that offered short-term relief but didn't help me regain full strength. The majority of my teens were spent in body pain. All of my years as a student, sitting in front of a desk in and out of the classrooms, have dramatically affected my posture. Ever since freshman year of high school, I didn't remember a day I was not in pain - today, I am a fourth-year university student. Long story short, I was suffering with IT band syndrome which limited my running distance and left my leg with excruciating pain. I've been seeing Dr Dang on and off for the past several years and this is my first time at this location. The therapy clinic feels open and clean. The space gives a very athletic vibe which makes me feel like "I GOTTA BRING MY A GAME." I've seen Dr Dang for my ankle pain from past sports injury and now for my shoulder pain from working at the desk and nursing. I was starting to feel tingling sensation down my left shoulder/arm and just simply felt significantly weaker. I didn't know what it was from, Dr Dang did some assessments and he had me do some exercises. He said my posture, tissue, lymphatic drainage is all messed up lol... somewhere along those lines but in a more professional way ... medical jargon to try to make me feel better. Anyhow, after our therapy he worked on unblocking my lymphatic drainage (tissue around my arm- I think that's what he called it). Let's just say after 20 mins of screaming and a few days of soreness, my shoulder and arm felt normal again! What kind of vudoo medicine was that?!!! So yeah he fixed me with 1 session!! The 1:1 attention is different from other therapists. I feel like most are on their computers when I'm explaining my pain and situation. Then I go off and work with another aid and I don't see the therapist again until the end of the session and they hand me a list of exercises. With Dr Dang, I left understanding how to prevent this pain going forward and the importance of correcting my posture. I'm still doing my exercises. I haven't felt that pain come back. Let me preface this by saying I have been to MANY physical therapists, some of the top in Los Angeles and arguably the entire US. For my time and money Tony Dang is the best I have ever worked with. Before I began working with Tony I was experiencing nerve pain in my hands, wrists and arms caused by carpal tunnel (I am a musician and surfer, so basically my life was put to a halt). Working with Tony has completely reversed it and he set me up with a work out plan to maintain my health and not have the issue reoccur. Since then (and circling back to my other time spent with PTs) we have been knocking out each of my physical health issues one by one. I have had three knee surgeries and have been told by multiple doctors I would not walk again, I'm writing this after riding my bicycle two miles to Tony's workplace in the arts district, having a session, and biking to little Tokyo to have lunch. Our current goal we are working towards is for me to run a mile, which I did not believe would be possible for me. Tony's the best! I highly recommend Tony for physical therapy/recovery. He's attentive and listens to all your concerns before applying a solution. I sprained my ankle and couldn't walk nor jump for months. Every time I tried to get back into exercising, my ankle would swell and regress. I contacted Tony and at my first consultation, he identified the issues I had and provided next steps - reassuring I should be able to get back to exercising/kickboxing after his program. In each session, he records the exercises he suggests and gives you those videos - which is extremely helpful and valuable when working on the exercises at home, and you get to keep those exercises in your pocket forever. I unexpectedly tore my ACL during my flag football game. The best part of about Tony is that he understands what's it's like to tear an ACL and opt not to get surgery. This is the best one on one physical therapy care I've ever had. Most PTs only work with me for 15 min and don't pay attention during my exercises. Tony is with you from start to finish constantly correcting you. My knee is already better in such a short period of time. I'm confident I'll go back to playing at the same level with or without surgery. read more

I came to Dr. Dang after recovering from a dislocated shoulder but had not regain my full range of motion yet. After working with Dr. Dang for a couple of sessions, I already noticed an improved range of motion and decrease in pain. We focused on practical movements that would return me quicker to my recent hobbies of pickleball and indoor bouldering. I've worked out --intensely-- for couple of months and realized my right knee felt a sharp pain for couple of months but i ignored it. But it got really bad the past few months so I had to stop working out completely. Then I met Tony, and he's definitely changed my right knee. I'm still not 100% but within 2 months, I'm finally back on the treadmill and able to run. I'm still re learning on how to walk and run the proper way but my pain has decreased. I've tried physical therapy before with different doctors and no major improvement, so I was amazed at how effective and educational even my first session was with Tony! Tony does a great job of helping me identify and connect with my muscle groups and has given me dependable tools to counteract pain and stiffness. My back was an absolute mess, preventing me from walking at the worst of times and causing me horrible pain. Working with Tony not only reversed all that but also is giving me ways to deal with other areas of pain, like my knees. If you have trouble in those areas, I can't say enough good things about Tony.
