Meeting with a professional consultant in person for a free two hour appointment was life changing for me. I got to talk with someone who was sensitive and kind to my needs and gave me advice for styles and options that suited my unique wants and needs. While the quality of the hair itself is beautiful, I wasn't a fan of the piece. My biggest issue was the layering. Basically it was two layers, one long and one short. Not blended or good looking at all. Immediately, you must cut the layers and make it shorter than the length you just for because the way it's layered. I wear my natural hair underneath (not in a cap) and I had to cut the wig and then take some off my hair too because the longest layer must be cut in order to make you not look like you just for a bad haircut. Overall, my hair quality is great but I'm not totally satisfied and slightly disappointed with what I purchased. read more

Love their hair pieces ! I am European, so Asian hair pieces don't look too natural. Also the process is different for those hair pieces, making them constantly tangle in your neck, and all over, and itch. I have 5 hair pieces, of which 2 are made with European hair. My Follea hair piece is the only one that never irritates my skin anywhere, n'or hurts me anywhere. It has a perfect fit. They are so beautifully made! I wished i had never wasted money on other hair pieces, and spend my money only here. The staff were friendly. I lost hair on top of my scalp 3 years ago from radiation. I thought my life was ruined. For the first couple of years I wore hats, everyday. As my daughters wedding was approaching I knew I wanted to have hair, not a hat. I found a topper that needed to "glued" to my scalp. Now, it is very obvious that I was not the primary client of the Follea Salon, but the staff at this beautifully furnished and decorated establishment did not care. Once I made my way up the stairs to the Follea waiting room and parted with my friend as she went into her appointment, I was immediately impressed by the attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. As I came to find out later my friend was very impressed by the overall process altogether. The place is very clean and bright with beautiful model prints and canvases on the walls. It's not over the top, but is rather classy and quaint. As I said, I am not an expert in this, but the wig chosen by my friend was, in my humble opinion, superb. If I didn't know any better, I would have never guessed this was not her real hair and the stylist did an amazing job cutting and blowing out the hair for maximum effect. read more

Picking out a wig was much more complicated than I expected, especially while learning all the cancer treatment I would be receiving. Janet was fantastic! 6 years ago I had brain surgery and while I was waiting for my hair to come back I found Follea, now Daniel Alain wigs. I fell in love with the quality and realness of the wig. I loved them so much I have been wearing them ever since. Janet is extremely kind and supportive. She is very patient with all my concerns and requests. During this COVID I had to go into office and I felt confident they cleaned the room prior to me coming, wore fast masks and instead of having to go back to view other colors she was gracious and sent me one in the mail to compare. It is true, as I have seen in other posts, the hair is layered some long and short and I did need to cut some when I got mine to make it the length I wanted and style just a little to fit my face. I was fortunate to have an amazing hair dresser to assist. Overall, I am please with the quality of wigs and the maintenance as well as there customer service. I will be wearing them for ever!!!! My experience with Follea this past year has been awful. Despite COVID, I placed an order for a gripper lite unit for $4800 dollars in January 2021. I was told that the typical time for a relaxed texture unit suitable for African American women would take 8-10 weeks to make a custom unit due to manufacturing delays. It typically would take 6-8 weeks. So I placed the order agreeing to the 10 week time frame. Now I've been told that the unit I ordered in January 2021 will not be ready until May 15, 2021 because the company has decided that it needs to replenish its regular inventory and now my custom unit order that was placed 2 months ago has to sit and wait for 8 more weeks. I am now required to wait 18 weeks!!! This is absolutely unacceptable and the poorest form of customer service to a African American women with compete hair loss. It's enough to deal with this condition to also be taken advantage of by this company. I do not recommend this company for anyone. The units are over priced and the wait times are ridiculous. Follea has a hired rep named Peggy Knight. I have written to Follea without response about Peggy not upholding the 30 day return policy. I purchased a wig on feb 18th for my mother who unfortunately passed away before she could use the wig. I wrote to Peggy explaining the situation and asking if I could return the wig on March 16th. She wrote back that I was outside the 30 day window. I explained I was not and she wrote back that it was based on the date shipped which was also Feb 18th. (which did not make any sense since that was still within 30 days) Unfortunately I had to open a dispute about Ms. Knight's inability to honor her 30 day return policy. I reached out to Follea to see if I could resolve this a few days ago and have not heard from them. In addition I noticed Peggy had numerous different yelp pages littered with poor reviews one calling her "the least compassionate person ever." It surprises me Follea would allow her to represent their products. read more

This is hands down the best wig I have ever purchased. I am writing this to help other people suffering from alopecia or hair loss, because I have never been so happy with my hair in my life! It's even better than my old real hair used to be. For the first time in my life, the wind is my friend. I can walk down the street and not worry about my hair blowing off my head. The Gripper Cool that I wear has silicone strips on the inside that stick perfectly to bald heads. The lace-front hairline looks amazing. No one at all knows it's a wig. It looks completely natural. The hair itself is beautiful human hair. I got low lights put in at the salon and they cut and styled it and it looks fantastic. I would recommend buying a lighter color than usual because it's always easier to go darker than lighter if it's not perfect for you out of the box. I don't sleep in my Follea wig nor do I do sports in it because it cost over $4000. It was worth every penny, so I opt to do sports in a synthetic wig ($300) + headband. If I save up enough money, in the future I would love to own a Follea Gripper Sport wig that I would only use for sports and bedroom activity, including but not limited to sleeping :) And I would use the Follea Gripper Cool that I currently have for everyday life. I've only needed to wash my Follea wig about once a month. But again, I don't sleep or work out in it. What I like to do is wash & condition it myself, and then go into the salon once it's dried to get it styled. The blowout usually lasts a month and it looks better than when I do it myself. Somehow it's less frizzy when the salon does it. And it's cheaper if you wash and dry it yourself in advance. Finally, the two main mistakes I made in my life which I hope this review can help prevent you from making are: 1. Hanging onto those last few strands of hairs on your head will only prolong the time it takes for you to find the perfect wig. Please, save yourself the distress and hassle and just shave the rest of your hair off so you can invest in the perfect hair. Wearing a wig on a bald head is so much easier and so much more comfortable and secure than trying to wear a wig over real hair. I guess it's a process of letting go, but the faster you do it, the better life will be. 2. Don't waste time on synthetic wigs!! (Except for working out). They slide off your head, the hair clumps at the ends after just a few weeks and looks very wiggy and cheap. I was having to buy a new synthetic wig every 4-6 weeks in order for it to look pretty and new again because the hair is made of plastic. You can't style it with heat. Once it's done, it's done. The color of synthetic wigs is also very flat and usually all one color which just looks fake. Especially in photos and especially when there's a flash, forget about it! Synthetic wigs reflect light all weird in pictures. Hate it. Human hair wigs can be dyed with low lights to give them depth and a natural look, and they can be taken to the salon and styled to look like new again because they are real human hair. And they look normal in pictures and in real life. Do yourself a favor, and save up enough money for one human hair wig that can be worn over the long term instead of buying many synthetic wigs that will get ruined over time. I called the HQ's office and a lady by the name Jeanie was extremely rude on the phone. She even hung up on me!! How poorly you represent your brand with that horrible customer service...
