I've had the great pleasure of working with Jerrick from Three16 Photography for three separate…read moreoccasions. So we know it's not a fluke. His work is just that incredible. I understand that his bread and butter is for wedding photography, and those are gorgeous. However, we used Jerrick for our event photography and I have never seen anything better. Truly. Jerrick has had the difficult task of shooting our events, often with 400+ individuals. We give him the vague and important directions of: please capture the vibe of the event. Awful directions. I know that. But I care less about certain moments and certain faces, and I want photos that capture our world. Our impact. Our community. That's hard. That's not, stand here and pose here type of photography. My five-year-old with my iPhone can do that. Jerrick has to photograph a vibe. I don't know how he does it, but he does it every time. And he brings us to tears. Happy tears. I also want to note something else about Jerrick's work that is often overlooked in this industry and I think it deserves to be mentioned. All too often, when a photographer edits their photos to give a bright edit, it ends up lightening skin color as well. BUT the administrative side and studio reliability are major issues. We actually should have seen the red flags on our very first visit when we came to book our appointment. No one was inside the studio, and another family was waiting outside. We let it go at the time, but the exact same thing happened at pickup. Since I had my baby with me and wanted to avoid driving over only to wait around, I called in advance to confirm someone was there and explicitly stated I was on my way. Yet when we arrived, the studio was locked and empty. We ended up waiting for quiet awhile for someone to show up. If staff needed to step out, basic courtesy and sound business practice dictate that you inform the customer on the phone. To top it off, no itemized receipt was provided. While the photographer did a wonderful job, the repeated unreliability and lack of consideration for customers' time mean we'll probably just go somewhere else next time.
