I have very complicated TMJ jaw issues and I saw Dr. Hoffman because he came up online as someone…read morewho specializes in TMJ problems. After two visits, I would NOT recommend going here if you have complex jaw issues. My issue is that my discs are displaced and locked, not just that my muscles are sore bc of clenching and griding. Went I first saw Dr. Hoffman, he recommended botox in my masseters and temples. He also recommended a repositioning split. The bill that I was given at that appointment included both the botox and the fitting for the splint which was done at the follow up appointment two weeks later. This was well over $1k. At my follow up appointment, the fitting for the splint took only about 30 seconds which I found concerning. Then i got the price for the splint which was $4k. I did not feel comfortable paying this after a 30 second measurement, so I decided to get a second opinion before moving forward. He also told me that he has only treated this in 5% or less of his patients. Overall, I am very unhappy with my experience here. I felt pressured into spending over $1000 on something that was totally unnecessary. I wish he would have been upfront and honest about his ability to treat my issue and recommended that I go somewhere that is more specialized in TMJ problems.

When I finally went up to the front desk to reschedule, the receptionist asked for my name again and still seemed unable to locate me in the system, even though she had already checked me in earlier. There was no acknowledgment or apology for the long wait. Instead, I was offered a new appointment over a month later, at the end of May. This isn't the first issue I've had either, on a previous occasion, I was told I'd receive a call to schedule an appointment, but after waiting a full month with no follow-up, I had to reach out myself. Overall, this place has been extremely disorganized and unprofessional in my experience. I would not recommend it.

I came in for a routine cleaning and mentioned TMJ symptoms. What followed was one of the most…read moreirresponsible medical experiences I've had. Before any physical examination or proper diagnosis, a staff member came in and quoted me $1,600 for Botox injections. When I pushed back, another person came in to push the same recommendation. At no point had anyone touched or examined my jaw. When the actual specialist finally saw me, he recommended Invisalign as the only real solution at nearly $6,000. This is not standard diagnostic practice for TMJ. Even though Dr. Hoffman said he was 90% sure it would correct my TMJ. Botox and Invisalign are not minor suggestions. Botox is an injectable neurotoxin with real risks including muscle atrophy, asymmetry, difficulty chewing, and unpredictable results. Invisalign is an irreversible commitment that permanently changes your bite. Recommending both within minutes of meeting a patient, without a single hands-on evaluation, felt dangerous and negligent. I sought two independent second opinions. Both providers told me Invisalign was completely unnecessary for my condition. A dentist I recently saw also noted my masseter muscles are very small -- which makes the Botox recommendation even more alarming, as Botox is typically indicated for overdeveloped muscles. People suffering from TMJ are often in pain, vulnerable, and desperate for answers. They deserve an honest and thorough evaluation -- not an immediate $7,600 upsell of unnecessary and potentially harmful procedures. I'm grateful I trusted my gut and walked out.

Since it was my first time at this office, I was worried about the whole experience, especially knowing how brutal wisdom teeth extractions can be. However, all the staff were timely, friendly, and helpful. During the consultation, there are many options for the extractions, but Dr. Zager slowly explained each one to help me better understand what would help. Each visit was efficient and prompt. The procedure itself went smoothly and fairly quick! Dr. Zager was efficient and even made sure I felt okay post surgery when I got home. He made effort to get to know my teeth and my overall health. Before my procedure he explained how he researched about medications and foods, which could be beneficial for my stomach issues post surgery. I felt prepared going into the surgery with all the information provided during my visits. The follow up appointment was positive and quick due to how well Dr. Zager's surgery went!
