    Ora Dental South Loop's team is the best of the best in every service & department. I first found them for an implant procedure that other oral surgeons had assured me wasn't possible; Dr. Koos made it happen and my results were beautiful. I've seen Dr. Kralj for years since then, and despite moving away and changing jobs twice since becoming a patient, I always make the trip because they're worth it. Their techs are all wonderful -- they stay ahead of industry trends with the latest pain- and inconvenience-limiting tech, and just recently, went above and beyond to hand-paint a temporary crown for a better color match plus rushing my replacement appointment to finish up before an upcoming wedding. Their front desk team is unbeatable -- Ashley routinely puts in extra time and energy to go to bat for us to make sure our insurance pays out the absolute most. She even helped us resolve a billing issue with another service provider that we'd been referred out to for a root canal. The office is calm and lovely, the TVs in the exam rooms and the waiting room are usually playing HGTV -- I genuinely look forward to my visits here. I've had a LOT of dental work in my life so have many points of comparison. This office is beyond the best. I constantly recommend them to everyone I know and feel like my luck in finding this team has genuinely improved my life.

    I'm response to you, Dr. Koos, I love how you were able respond to my Yelp review but can't take the time to respond to my emails nor phone calls. And you were so quick to outline the details in this "consent form" I supposedly signed, but can't furnish it along with my medical record. There was NEVER a discussion that took place that this issue I wound up with, would've been the end result as you claim. You even had a discussion with my current orthodontist about how things could've resulted differently. But you probably don't recall that either? Hmm..? Instead of taking responsibility for your wrong doing, you keep pointing fingers at other reasons to excuse you from fault. This is completely unacceptable. It's been over a year AND I'M STILL WAITING TO RECEIVE MY MEDICAL RECORD. If that's not admitting guilt, I'm not sure what else it could be? Where do I even begin? I was referred to Dr Koos for a simple upper impacted canine extraction. The procedure should have been straight forward but unfortunately resulted in a significant defect that Dr Koos failed to acknowledge during the initial post treatment visit. Since the incident, I have spent over $7k in treatment and still have approx $26k left to go! When I woke up from the extraction, Dr Koos placed a mangled splint to support my teeth from falling out. This was the first of many issues to come. After weeks of healing I noticed a huge chunk of my gum/bone missing. He claimed this was "normal" and was healing perfect. I listened to my gut and sought out a periodontist along with a prosthodontist both of which stated something was wrong and they could not fix this without additional surgeries. I then revisited Dr Koos after I demanded a refund. (He agreed to refund me) because of the "undesirable" results. And of course at that point did he finally acknowledge the defect. This is only the beginning of the trouble I have gone through with this practice. I've still not received my refund. I also have requested help to pay (a small portion at that) for the damage Dr Koos has caused BUT he still has yet to respond. Not only that, he and his office has yet to release my medical record that I've requested on several occasions. I unfortunately have had to move forward with a lawyer but if this review can help one person-please please please do your research!!! I have been calling for 2 weeks now and have never been able to get someone on the phone. I left a voicemail and couldn't get someone on the phone. Last month I had an issue with them charging me for a visit that I never scheduled, nor was I ever at their office on that day. And I was trying to call them to question why this charge was even there and they never answered my messages or my phone calls. I had to physically go to the office to talk to them about it, and they told me to just ignore the charges, because it was a mistake on their end. That was about 3 weeks ago, And I'm still getting messages about an unpaid invoice. Also, there is pain in my tooth after a crown replacement procedure , I have been calling, to get this issue dealt with before I get the permanent crown put on, but no one is returning my calls, I don't want to pay the money to go all the way to their office just to deal with something that could be handled in a phone call. My dental treatment here has been fine so far, I am confused as to why I'm having nerve pain after a crown replacement, when I had absolutely no pain on that tooth before the crown was replaced. But I don't know why this is happening nor can I get anyone on the phone to have a conversation about it or schedule a follow-up exam. Other than that my experience with the dentist here have been good. And that's really the only reason they're getting the two and a half stars. Because the other half of me determining if a business is decent or not is their ability to conduct business. Their ability to communicate and theirs is ass.

    This is the "Don't text your Ex" of Yelp reviews…read more I'd been meaning to find another dentist for a while, but life got in the way. At my last cleaning here there was a new dentist I'd never seen before. I mentioned to him that my teeth have shifted on top and bottom as I've gotten older (perfectly straight on the top 2 years ago, but now noticeably crooked) and asked what I could do to stop that. Dr. Daftary had alway tried to push Invisalign on me, but my husband had a truly terrible experience here with Invisalign so I did NOT want to start down that path. I specifically mentioned the shifting/crowding on my bottom teeth was pushing my top teeth out of alignment. He suggested a night guard and wrote me an order for it. I was told I could pick it up in two weeks. That's when the nightmare began. Long story short, this office lied to me, ran me around, wouldn't return my calls, kept telling me "one more week, one more week" until the day I said I wanted to cancel the order for the nightguard, and threatened to do a chargeback with my credit card, when SUDDENLY I got a call late in the afternoon, the same day they told me it would be another week, saying they had it for me at the office. It took two months from the time of order for me to get the night guard. I went to pick it up and it was for my top teeth only. I admit I was not really familiar with what a nightguard is, I assumed it was like a retainer you only wear at night. Of course, the dentist did not explain anything to me at the time. That's very typical for this office. How does this help my issue with all of teeth shifting? I told Dr. Daftary I was really unhappy with the lack of communication and patient care and really suspicious about how they suddenly got the nightguard the day I said I wanted to cancel it, after telling me earlier that day it would be another week or so. She talked around in circles in her usual fashion so I just took it and left, telling her I was done with her practice. Now I've had this nightguard for less than a month. I discovered after using it for a few days that it's actually two layers, a soft inner layer and a harder outer layer. This type of nightguard is usually prescribed for people who grind their teeth at night, which I do not. It's also the most expensive type. Aha! After putting this thing in and out of my mouth for about three weeks now, the walls of the soft inner layer have folded down and stuck to each other, making scratchy lumps that scrape against my gums when I put it in. I can't wear it without the inner layer because it's too loose on my teeth. I contacted Art of Modern Dentistry about this through their website and of course, got no response. I know from past experience they don't return phone calls, so now what? I paid almost $800 for this thing (after insurance) and it's clearly a cheap piece of $hit. I'm sure that has something to do with how they magically got it in hand in mere hours after I waited for two months. Since I can't wear my useless nightguard anyway, I have since gone to a much better dentist in the area for an Invisalign consult with a retainer afterward and I will be staying with them for all of my future dentistry needs. It was 100% better at this new dentist in every way, right from my first visit. My only consolation for having wasted another several hundred dollars at Art of Modern Dentistry is that I won't ever have to go there again. AND YOU SHOULD NOT EITHER!

    *This is the first review on Google/Yelp that I have ever left* I don't care about leaving a review…read morefor a bad meal, but I do feel compelled to write when it's for the sake of one day completing my dental treatment plan with a dentist I feel comfortable with and or helping someone else do so as well. I would encourage you to seriously pay attention to the one/two star reviews that speak to not getting into a chair until 45 minutes after your appointment is scheduled while people that come in after you go in before you, being ridiculously upsold and given insanely high quotes for the treatment you actually need. I was legitimately told that I needed to extract every tooth in my mouth and get implants while being sold so hard on it during my deep cleaning that I almost left in the middle from anxiety. In all fairness I had one good experience (out of 5). You'll think you can make it work, but ultimately you will get tired of the condescending attitudes from the front desk shifting blame to you for consistently wasting your personal time that they don't value in their lobby. It will sound something like "oh we did you a favor squeezing you in" or waiting an hour because you have a new insurance card while you ultimately won't trust that they're not fully ringing up your insurance dollars to their benefit while it's in their possession. In short, you just might make it a few appointments, but ultimately you will also grow tired of these things and you will need to find a dentist you can go to long-term. My advice is just keep scrolling, save your time and find that dentist now.

I reached out online and told them how much pain I was in. They took my pain seriously, emailed me back quickly, and booked an appointment for me with short notice. I was embarrassed because I knew my teeth were in bad shape. But everyone I talked to from beginning to end was so warm and friendly that I felt comfortable right away. After Dr. Schoening examined my teeth, I was referred to an oral surgeon (who was also excellent) to deal with some teeth that couldn't be saved. And Dr. Schoening came up with a plan to get my other teeth in good shape. I had a deep cleaning, which must have been a real chore for Dr. Schoening with how bad my teeth were. But Dr. Schoening never made me feel ashamed. He made sure I was physically comfortable as he worked, and he did an excellent job on my teeth. I'm so relieved to have found such an excellent dentist, and the entire team is incredible. My teeth feel and look a lot better. I've got my next appointment scheduled in 3 months, and I plan on coming back again and again. Also, the views from the dentist chairs are fantastic!
