I have been meaning to write this for a while, but I feel compelled to after I just finished my morning walk. Dr. Friedlich performed a laminectomy/discectomy on my in January of 2025, and I am amazed. I had a bulging disc and spinal stenosis, had already gone through injections, chiropractors, physical therapy, and all of the autoimmune tests, and then I finally was approved for surgery. I am a fifty three year old, physically fit female, and for years I was in pain and suffered from sciatica. I can now confidently say that this surgery changed my life. Thank you. read more

This man is heartless. I was incredibly disappointed when he walked in as I had requested to have my appointment be with another provider. I waited three months for this appointment. He told me that because I was 65 and had osteoporosis, he couldn't do anything for me. I wanted to talk about another part of my spine but he rushed out. I was shocked and now I am depressed. He seemed good at first, my husband had a pinched nerve and after the MRI came back, we went in his office and he said the bones were fused and he doesn't know what to do! He said he would meet with a team of doctors to get their opinion and would get back to us in a week. He completely dropped my husband's case and we never heard from him again. read more

Well if the good doctor was interested in all of his patients he would keep those of us whom he's done emergency back surgery on! No just cut them close them and by the 2 visit wouldn't dump them. Then he could have known it Failed! His carding staff not only kicks you down w IEHP, they don't even call the nursing home which they know you're from.They even see you sitting stuck in a wheelchair out front of the medical building as they leave to go home an hour later. Just because you're insane in pain and can't walk. Yeah this is what I got from the doc and his caring staff. This was September/October 2016. To find out I'm not the only IEHP patient he's dumped. Dr. Friedlich is amazing! Great bed side manner and incredible surgical skills! I had nerve and cord compression which is now so much better only 2 1/2 months post surgery. He fused my entire neck and took bone from my hip to put in my neck...major surgery! The scars are healing nicely. I can't say enough about the good doctor's skills! Doctor Friedlich is very polite, professional and down to earth. He is one of the best neurosurgeons. I had a cancerous brain lesion which he surgically removed. I didnt have any problems after surgery. I was awake alert and walking hours after surgery. I healed up well. I only saw him few times for routine follow ups after surgery. An arrogant and condescending jerk. I waited over an hour and a half. He was rude and answered all of my questions with "nobody knows"! Questions such as how long of a recovery. How much pain, seemed to be beyond his ability to answer. He obviously is Not a people person! He inspired no confidence and gave me the distinct impression he was not interested in helping me! A total waste of time and left me angry and full of anxiety. His office staff seemed very nice. The doctor needs a lot of work on how to treat a patient! I would rate him lower if I could! read more

Good morning, My name is Diane Truman and I am a patient of Dr. Friedlich. I just don't know how to Thank Dr. Friedlich enough for what he did for me. I have the upmost respect for him. I live in Menifee and with my insurance it's very hard to find a great Dr. out here. I was in 2 car accidents and the numbness in both of my hands and back were unbearable. My primary Dr finally recommended him. When he explained the surgery to us, I was scared to death. He had to cut my throat to put a plate in my neck. On 11-4-2011 he did the surgery. That morning everyone came in my room and explained their part for my surgery. I was still so nervous but Dr. Friedlich stayed with me until I was ready to go forth. Feeling so scared of what could happen to me, I couldn't get it out of my mind. Anyway I got through the surgery and so glad I did. I never felt so much relief in my hands. My back is another story. Dr. Friedlich is so AWESOME!! You CAN'T see where he cut my throat. Tried to show my Drs. where he made the incision and very hard to find. He is a truly amazing man. I go once a year to have X-rays, MRI and any other test to make sure I am doing well. His staff is just as AWESOME. Very friendly, helpful, pleasant and they don't rush with you. Dr. Friedlich was so comforting and compassionate when he took an incredible amount of time explaining to me my situation concerning an upcoming back/spine surgery. I came in somewhat scared and left knowing I was in great hands and that I could look forward to a successful expierience in my laminectomy in 2 areas . I felt very confident God guided me to the correct Dr. for me. Everything was explained so clearly and pointed out on my MRI . All my concerns were addressed in a relaxed environment . I must have been there an hour and never felt rushed for a minute. Dr. Friedlich felt like a part of my family. Dr. Daniel friedlich has made a huge contribution to my ability to function, once again, within my every day life.... I had been to several doctors before him , NO ONE would hear me, understand what I was saying , or even try to figure out a way to at least ease some of my pain. He was straight forward with me, and explained my options, from the least invasive to most complicated procedures, exactly what it would entail, what each was most often used to correct or help, percentage of relief or correction with each of these procedures possible, details..... The procedure recommended for me , and that i chose, was the least invasive and would at least ALLOW ME SOME RELIEF. Immediately, immediately, after my surgery , when I got out of bed ( now that was quite painful, for couple of days ) I was able to stand up straight!!! Something I had not been able to do in years.! The numbness, drop foot, and horrific pain shooting up and down my leg were no more. I cannot even explain the relief, jubilation, and gratitude, that I experienced, Four hours! Four hrs he had spent on me, for something that most would take an hour and a half. Dr friedlich not only had his regular surgeries that day but did an emergency surgery right before me, so it was evening before he even began surgery on me. I awoke at 1:15 a.m. that morning, to the Amazing sight of Dr Friedreich in my room, waiting to check my status, pain, etc, before he went home!!!. Who does such things anymore?? Dr. Bret Abshire, who is partners with Dr Friedlich @'at Temecula Valley Neurosurgery , was my doctor for the weekend. He was there every single day, at least once, to check on me, and was in constant contact with Dr Friedrich in discussion concerning my pain, incision, etc. . He too stayed to speak with me, answered all of my questions and concerns, and never one time rushed me, spoke down to me, or made me feel like a nuisance. What a blessing to have been led to them!!!! I found the office staff too, are always a pleasure! I was and I am to this day treated with respect, understanding, and a sense of urgency;, via phone or in person. They truly understand that if you are seeking their help, you most likely are in a dire situation, with intense pain. In my case, Stacy and Nichia, who graciously, worked above and beyond patiently with me, and my horrible insurance plan. They fought with me, and for me, to get my insanely difficult insurance plan to coincide and work for me/ them, so I would not have to suffer to this degree any longer. I cannot recommend more highly, Doctor's Friedlich, and Abshire, at Temecula Valley Neurosurgery. I may not be 100 percent like I was 20 years ago, nor did they attest to making me feel as such, but...Dr . You must leave a message on their voicemail, they don't automatically answer their calls. Left a message to schedule a new patient appt, and 7 days later still no call back. Voicemail on during lunch is one thing, but I don't want to go to an office that doesn't have staff answering phones regularly anyway. And this is a perfect example why. I had an MRI performed and scheduled a consult with Dr Friedlich to read the results and discuss options of what direction I needed to take to help with this back injury. I paid a $400 cash payment for the office visit and waited to see Dr friedlich. He came in and acted as if it was an inconvenience to have to speak with me. This was the most unprofessional, rudest doctor I have ever dealt with. He said I have the report for your MRI here. I asked "ok can you let me know what it says and what do you recommend I do to fix my back", The doctor literally said I can print the report for you. He recommended I request other people to do parts of my job for me that I am unable to do because of my injured back. He offered no diagnosis or a treatment plan for me. I left his office feeling conned, as he took $400, and spend less then 10 minutes with me basically acting annoyed that he had to be there for that 10mins. If I could give him less then 1 star he would be deserving. I will now need to look for another neurosurgeon to help me address my back pain as this doctor doesn't feel the need to actually do his job. read more
