    Girl week. Horrible house. This had to be the worst rentals I have ever stayed . when you walked…read morein it Smelled mildewy. You could only use the shower. The bathtub was useless , you couldn't even turn the water on for the bathtub and if you looked at it you wouldn't want to sit in it anyway. There was a big closet in the bathroom that had brooms vacuum cleaner and other things in it with no door ,So you had to look at it. There was a dead roach underneath of the sofa ,that had been there for a while, which means no one's sweeping under there. The laundry room was down Some steps that you might break your neck on one of the girls tripped twice on the steps. All I can say is thank God that I took my asthma medicine, which I almost didn't, because the smell of the mildew made me have to use my inhaler everyday. Both of there was a hot tub in a small area with two chairs but the house says it will house seven. There's no way you can get seven chairs out there with the hot tub in that small area. Why they backyard is not being utilized? I don't know because it would have been a much bigger space. It was a girls trip. I did not do the reservation I would not have never booked that place. This was the first time I've met him. He was courteous, great with Ginger, and above all explained everything that he was checking. In all my years living here, I don't recall ever having such a detailed walk through of the apartment. He checked under every sink for small leaks, the water heater, A/C - Heating unit, etc. I am happy that Avalon is doing this preventive maintenance.     Where do I even begin. Avalon glen cove is a disgrace not only to Avalon themselves as a company…read morebut luxury apartments in general. Avalon promises many things when you first move in such as maintenance when you need them to repair any non working appliances as well as a promise to keep the complex smoke free and mess free. Well I promise to you they do not stick to their word. I moved in september 2017. Since I moved in there were a plethora of issues in my apartment that did not come to my attention until a week after I had moved in such as the dryer not drying clothes(when they came to fix it, they left a huge mess of lint from the dryer that was clogged up all over my kitchen) , fridge being at an inconstant temperature constantly ruining my produce and filling the produce drawers with water. I had placed numerous reports to Maintenance to fix my fridge and even to replace it. Every time they came it would still end up not working, may i remind you this is 6+ months of having a broken refrigerator. I personally was very unhappy and went to complain to management. I went to speak to Joanne about all my issues these past 6 months but was then bombarded by Lisa(The "Manager") as well as a maintenance member who did not let me finish my claims and basically shunned me for telling them how poorly managed Avalon Glen Cove actually is. Lisa, the manager, believes she is running this place in tip top condition and blames the issues on past management. I continued to tell her my issues and she made it seem as if she suddenly cared. It took another week but my refrigerator was finally replaced for me. When they came to replace the fridge, they also managed to scratch up the wood floors pretty good(images included: http://tinypic.com/r/35mqr60/9). After over $1,000 worth of lost produce they offered me nothing. Not even an apology was given for the horrible management on their end. I was told since Lisa couldn't do much about my ongoing issues that I would be contacted by a higher up who can assist me as well as take my advice to make the community better. No contact was received what so ever. The issues go on. When I first moved in, I was strictly told about all rules especially their no smoking rules which I respect 100% but they do not seem to. Right when I moved in, the stairwells had an overpowering smell of cigarettes as that's where people go to avoid their smoke detectors going off. I obviously reported this and was given a response that "it will be taken care of". Later that week in the stairwell was signs pointing down to the cigarette butts that says no smoking(Images included http://tinypic.com/r/2hsahqw/9 ). How much of a joke is this? 3 months after I moved in I had realized a whole 'nother issue. The elevators are BROKEN. Coming home from class, I went to the elevator to get back up to my apartment and was stuck in there for over 30 minutes until someone came to help. Over the past 6 months alone I've heard 10+ people in the elevators screaming for help as they were stuck with not a simple response from the broken, outdated, poorly maintained elevators or even management. And the list goes on, if there's a mess in the hallways, they have cleaning staff to "take care" of it. After my neighbor moved in he left a huge mess in the hallway from scraps of plastic to packing peanuts. I was forced to clean this myself as no one had taken any action to clean it. Avalon does not uphold their end of the contract which promises all these things to be handled immediately and correctly, their management is failing horribly and is it at the expense of their residents.
