Approximately six (6) weeks after my appointment, I received a statement from the practice requesting a Co-Pay. I knew that my Co-Pay was made at the reception window upon entering the office. After checking my banking statement, I confirmed that my Co-Pay was, in fact, processed the very same day of my office visit. I then called Billing and assisted them with finding my payment. Billing claimed that, due to staff shortages, they were being hampered which caused them to overlook documenting my payment. I let Billing know that once my credit card was scanned, payment was immediately made to the practice and, deducted from my VISA account. Staffing issues have zero impact on the ability of Billing for locating a patient's Co-Pay. Enuf said about the administrative and billing side of this practice..........

I had a mole under my eye that had started bleeding. Of course I googled, and everything I read said go straight to dermatologist. I found Dr. Gold and made an appointment for a skin exam. He glanced at my Mole with the naked eye from about 2 feet away and said it looked fine. Since I had read that bleeding was a problem I asked how he knew. He replied 'how do you know how a website works?' (I'm a web developer.) Meaning, I'm a professional, so don't question my judgement. He told me it wasn't a problem mole, but I could have it removed for cosmetic reasons if I ever wanted to. Long story short, about a year or so later my sister kept complaining about how disgusting it looked so I decided to get it removed. Thank goodness Dr Gold didn't take my new insurance so I went to a different professional to have it removed. She looked at it with some sort of magnify thing and seemed to have an immediate feeling that out was probably going to test positive for being a basal cell. It hadn't grown out changed much since my visit with Dr Gold. It tested positive and has been surgically removed. EVEN CRAZIER, I was telling this story to a co-worker and she was telling me this story that happened to her about 10 years ago where she went to a dermatologist and the guy had just a big know it all attitude and told her she was wasting her money to do a skin exam because she was Italian. The office is clean and nicely lit, giving it a welcome atmosphere. When making appointments via phone, the staff are always very courteous and helpful. The front desk staff are also very nice, so customer service is a strong focus for the practice I can tell and I appreciate. The actual medical staff are nice too which is important for me and my client who can be difficult to understand when it comes to his needs. One strange thing I find is the service costs can vary from office to office, for example as I understand it the Hoboken office standard visit can carry a higher cost. Why?
