My appointment was this past Sunday. I was warmly greeted by Ulissa, and the same by Maura, the nurse. Maura was a knowledgeable professional and eager to help. Liz, the nurse practitioner, answered every question with confidence and reassurance. She checked me for three symptoms and diagnosed them easily. She gave me medication and recommended a follow-up in 4 weeks. I was comfortable talking to the three women, and will certainly suggest them as a great dermatology team. read more

Dr Ravitz and other staff is very competent and kind but the wait time is ridiculous. Possibly over booking patients wait is too long.

Wasn't worth the trip. Had a previous dr leave the practice and when I called they couldn't give me info but made me come in for another appointment. Wait was over an hour. Bedside manner wasn't there and really didn't get any good answers, but sure did have to get another copay and charge for the visit. I was in the office for my annual skin cancer screening with Dr. Ravits. I patiently waited because the office was crowded. When asked I was told," there were a lot of procedures today" which is understandable, however I am a patient and deserve the same attention. It seemed to be well over booked and poorly managed, staff was friendly though. The doctor literally spent less than 10 minutes examining me, skimmed over my body blocking areas of past concern. I've had two basal cell cancers removed in the past, and much more time should have been spent on specific areas to be sure there were no changes. I was excited to get an appointment reasonably fast. I asked if the doctors do the excisions and I was told "yes." I asked if perhaps during the first visit the excision could be done, same visit, I was told yes, depending on time. My joy ends there. I literally was the last patient seen. I arrived 15 minutes early as instructed, and waited an hour to see Dr. Cardullo. She spent about 7 minutes with me, discounted 2 of the reasons I was there, did nothing for me, then said she doesn't do surgeries. I figured I should have been set up with one of their other doctors who could have removed the growth because of COURSE I thought that, but worse, I was told that their physician assistant "does our surgeries" and is sooooo booked, they open on Sundays to fit everyone in for "20 minutes apiece." Like an assembly line? It sounded frightening to me. Dr. Cardullo could care less about my issues, and I don't mean to be rude, but I thought she was about 85 years old. Dr. Ravits is brilliant, warm, pleasant, and thorough. I had a dermatological exam from another practice years ago, and they did not do a fraction of the complete examination that Dr. Ravits gives. She patiently listens to all concerns, and in addition, her staff is sweet and wonderful. I would (and have) gladly recommended her to friends, and they have similar views after exams. Unlike the complaints I've seen, I've not ever had to wait a long time. She is prompt in seeing patients, and down-to-earth, no pretenses or airs. She spotted a troublesome problem that I had not even been aware of, and it turned out to be most fortunate that she caught it so early, preventing any negative development. read more

We've used Dr. Stranger from this office and we've been very happy with her care, friendly nature and patience while explaining the skin condition and steps to take towards healing. What inspired me to leave a review was my experience yesterday. We went to an urgent care on the weekend to get care for the same child for a new skin issue. The urgent care meant well, but they didn't correctly diagnose the condition. Dr. Cardullo correctly diagnosed and treated the condition during a telehealth consult as we weren't able to come in to the office. She predicted that my child would feel better within 72 hours, but my child felt better within 12 hours, thank G-d. Thank you, Ravits dermatology! read more

I personally would never visit this establishment again. My daughter had the sniffles and my grandmother had just passed away. My daughter was kept home bc I couldn't go to work. Unfortunately, my daughter shared she didn't go to school bc she was sick. I explained she was fine , post nasal drip ,but I couldn't say why she didn't go to school. I was in the room to see the doc and recieved a strange call, while in room. Get out because someone's immune system was compromised. Do you know how many parents would lose work if we always kept our kids for sniffles ... I'm a social worker in another state ! These people made my child feel like crap ! She kept asking what she did wrong. Refund my money already ! I don't care about your diagnosis or the office. The insensitivity was enough not to ever go back. I am going to start by saying I am leaving this practice after my last visit. I had several ok experiences and she's 1 mile away. I saw Dr. Ruhl for my visits. She seemed knowledgable and competent and answered questions in a pleasant way. Then came Dr. Ravits. She decided to biopsy a spot, WITHOUT my consent. I signed no form for this and did not heal well. I ended up seeing another Dr. elsewhere to fix things. But first, I had to get my records. I called and was assured they would be ready at a certain time. No one was at the desk when I got there. I knocked and waited. Finally I walked to the desk and saw my record sitting there! I took it and left. WOW, that is absolutely unacceptable. I gave that 2nd star only because up until then, I had no problems with Dr. Ruhl or the staff. But I won't recommend. read more

my primary doctor recommended Dr. Ravitz. She performed a biopsy without telling me. I thought she was going to check a black spot that I had in my back and recommend some kind of cream that can help me with my isssue. Unfortunately that was not the case. It took a while for the biopsy to heal. Plus, now I still have the black spot on my back and also a white spot on top of it, where she performed the biopsy. I was very dissapointed with the whole procedure. When I went back to see my primary doctor and told her about my experience with Dr. Ravitz he couldn't start laughing. Terrible!! Very competent doctor; I like her and office staff a lot. But when I wait 1.5 hours to be seen, there is an issue. Overbooking tells me that you do not think my schedule is important, but yours is. Not to happy with the treatment after the fact in terms of billing. I was a cash patient and I asked for all costs upfront and paid them for it. Next thing you know I get a bill for another 55.00, and when I called to inquire, you would have thought I was talking to a bunch of thugs. Very hard tones and attitudes, especially from a woman whose name starts with an "M". I know this is Jersey, but I thought I was dealing with physician's office and not with "Vinny's Got an Attitude Pizzeria." I was transferred to multiple people, including finally, the "billing department," where they were intent on educating me on their procedures--when they could barely make an effort to read or understand what my medical record said, and what the charges were. First they told me it was an insurance deductible. Huh? I paid you cash. Then they said, oh, you got to talk to the doctor. Talk to the doctor about what? I can barely get past the front desk without an attitude. Then they said I signed some paper agreeing to extra charges. When I asked where that was...oh, they have to look for it. Really? Are you serious? I did not expect to have to deal with a bunch of thuggish people on the phone in trying to resolve something. Even now, the issue is still not resolved. It's not about the money, it's about the principle. Don't tell me everything is included when I pay you--and then have some bill sent to me after the fact. Most pleasant dermatology visit I have ever experienced. Amazing amount of follow-up by Dr. Ravits and Dr. Therushkin. This practice is not your average 2 minute visit and checkup. The staff is excellent and attentive and concerned about their patients. Wait time is minimal so they are attentive to scheduling. I have been struggling with cystic acne for over 5 years and tried tons of topical treatments and medications to get rid of it with other dermatologists but to no avail and it just kept getting worse. Best dermatologist practice around. Knowledge is second to none, never an issue with bedside manner, straight shooter - gets to the point and gets you on your way. Maybe some people have prefer to be coddled, I just want to get in, get out, and get healed quickly. I was referred by my primary Doctor to see Dr. Ravits, I called the Hackensack office to make an appointment and the person answering the phone said she would call me back in five minutes and asked for my name and phone number, as I was spelling my last name, because it is so often misspelled, the office person very rudely said, "I know how to spell!" I am still waiting for her return call!!! I am a Registered Nurse in a large metropolitan hospital and couldn't nor wouldn't speak to anyone like that, but Dr. Ravits obviously keeps this woman employed, because I have read reviews about this problem in her office, and I am still reading reviews about this person and can't believe she is still employed? Front Desk was the most rude and unhelpful secretary. Dr. Garcia refused to give me my actual prescription for my eczema after my appointment and just vaguely insisted they will send it to me later in the day. Additionally, they insisted we used their pharmacy (which was too far for me) when I wanted to go to my local pharmacy just around the corner. I've called them 4 times just so they can give me a follow up for the prescription and they kept asking me to call a different day when Dr. Garcia is there. My pharmacy has even tried to contact them for my prescription and they didn't even bother to respond to them. I wouldn't recommend going to this dermatologist at all. You would probably get better help from a Web MD search compared to these guys! read more

Dr. Ravits really knows her stuff and is very kid-friendly. I visited 3 other dermatologists with my 19 month old daughter and they couldn't rightfully diagnose and prescribe the correct creams for the fungus on her face. Dr. Ravits was able to get it tested and prescribe the right thing for her and we've seen dramatic improvement in the matter of just 1 week. She is excellent and highly recommended. read more

I have been going to this office for many years. Dr. Ravitz is as good as it gets. When she looks at something on your skin she knows exactly what it is. No unnecessary biopsies or time ever wasted. Her office is efficient and she is fast, accurate and caring. If she gives you a needle or a stitch you don't ever feel it! Plus she listens! Years ago I mentioned a lump on my neck to her and after she felt it she didn't just tell me to see a doctor immediately she actually called and made the appointment for me! If I could give 0 stars I would. I saw a doctor at the Hackensack location (won't disclose her name). Lacking bedside manner is an understatement. She didn't even introduce herself when she entered the room and I have never met the woman before. She acted uninterested and looked like she could have cared less about me and the reason I was there. I tried to ask questions, however she was already half way out the door and didn't bother to turn around or even pretend to humor me. If you are looking for a physician to treat you with respect like any human being deserves, educate you and help you with your medical condition (as a good physician would and should) and just not throw prescriptions at you, she is not your doctor. I could have saved my $50 copay and mailed it to google, as they provided more information than she did. To top it off, she hollered once she was out the door to come back in a month. I asked to meet with Dr Pagdhal, they said hold on and Ravits got on the phone...she asked why I wanted to meet with Paghdal and I said genetic hyperpigmentation. She said "There are no treatments that work for that. Lasers, cosmetics...nothing will help". I said ok - and she hung up. I have been seeing Dr. Ravits for plus 18 years. I was referred to her by an onocologist from Hackensack Hospital. The other dermatologist I was seeing scared the life out of me and made life much scarier than needed to be. She put things in perspective and life once again was beautiful. She is truly an excellent professional on top of her game. When I visit her I know I get the best care possible from her and the kind and friendly staff. Its my opinion she is my favorite doc . I'm writing this on a Saturday because I am still upset about this doctor visit. I will also cancel my follow up and go elswhere. I arrived 20 minutes early to my 11:30 appointment. I wasn't seen until 12:30. Thats basically an hour and half just to be seen. No one kept me updated. I had to ask if Ms. Ravits was behind since I went during my lunch hour. I get in the room and Ms. Ravits first words to me were that I should never schedule an appointment during my work day. I told her to remove the skin tags and review the sun spots on my face. She literally rushes a needle in my face and her associate is telling me to look at her as my eye are watering from the injection ahe then gets upset because I couldn't open my eyes for the before picture as the Dr. Ravits was numbing my face at the same time. I would of thrown a fit if I wasn't in shock thinking back on how unprofessional and disgusting this appointment went. Im then told she removes only 2 skin tags at a time when I ask why she can't do all 3 of them. A total scam to drag out more money as my fiance had 9 removed at once. She merely sprays the sunspot once with frozen nitrogen with the bandaids for the skin tags blocking her from spraying the spot and only sprayed one of the 2 spots and ignored every comment I made to address the other. I'm a 30 year old home owner and military veteran not a child. I was prepared for my appointment and she blames me for having to rush. Which I nicely asked her to please not to rush and she still did. The appointment to remove skin tags should of taken 5 minutes. She blamed because she was behind. The women were all cold and I felt as though they didn't even like me before they opened the door. Total house of horrors experience. Pathetic excuse for humans let alone a doctor's facility. First off let me say I was recommended to see Dr. Ravitz by another doctor who I have seen for over 15 years and has been wonderful. With that said I will not go back. Dr. Ravitz interrogates you and so does her nurses about what you are washing with and what products you use. I understand they have to ask questions but there's a polite way to do so. I'm an educated professional and I don't appreciate feeling like I'm being interrogated. I have skin darkening on my neck and arms and of course none of this was resolved in the 9 months I saw Dr. Ravitz. I had already had the darkening biopsied by the paramus dermatology group and she was insisting it needed to be biopsied again. I told her absolutely not as everytime it needs to be stitched closed and leaves a scar. Paramus sent over their results too so she had their reports. Strike one. She's only there two days a week from about 9-2. Riiighhhtt bc no one works. So basically if you're not retired or a stay at home mom good luck getting an appointment. You can take the day off like I did to find the waiting room full and have to wait an hour to see her. Strike two. I was given an examination and Dr. Ravitz looked me over in a very uncomfortable manner. She wanted to see my backside to see if there was other patches of darkening but instead of asking me politely she just looked all over and I felt embarrassed. A visit to this practice is an unpleasant experience. The staff is lifeless and seem uninterested in patients. I made an appointment specifically in reference to a refill for an rx I needed and was assigned Dr. Garcia over the phone; I didn't pick her. When I arrived at reception, the person barely looked up from his computer as he was typing. He took my insurance card and waited 30 mins, not something I love to do because the point of an appointment is that we all lead busy lives and I don't want to be waiting. This is a common practice in medicine but I still don't like it. So I was called inside and waited in an exam room and in floats the apparent doctor without even introducing herself with an assistant of sorts and starts talking. I find myself answering questions to someone whose position I'm not even sure of. It was only that I saw her name on a folder that I knew it was her. Don't know even get me started on the assistant. Why am I talking to 2 people instead of 1? What happened to privacy? Not to mention the assistant didn't introduce herself either. At the end of the day did I get my prescription? You know the reason I came in and was assigned this doctor? No. She doesn't happen to prescribe that medication. Don't you think that would have been important to tell me when you assigned me this doctor? Instead, a need to make yet another appointment with another doctor in this dreadful practice. Save yourself the trouble and find another office that doesn't act like they're doing you a favor. read more

First of all I have to mention that I am not kind of person who writes reviews. I had my first appointment in 9/14. I was given the latest appointment at 3:15 as I was told by receptionist that I will be the last patient and when I asked her if I can come in later she said there is no latest appointment than 3:15 as after that office closes. So I arrived there on time and when I asked receptionist is there anyone in front of me she said 'yes there are two people in front of you.' I was so surprised that I was told the wrong info from the beginning. At least she could have said that they have a later appointment some other day. Anyway when dr. Margaret came to see me she was very fast and inpatient after my each question she was ready to leave the room. And so instead of me having a full physical exam by dr. Margaret, she just asked me a few question and left the room. I didn't have any chances to ask her any question. Totally my wait time was an about 1 hour and duration of the appointment 5 min. This is the most terrible experience I've ever had among doctors. read more

I have twice visited Dr. Ravits, in Hackensack, this month, and feel fortunate to have discovered this gem of a doctor. Dr. Ravits is a highly qualified and experienced dermatologist, who is clear in her diagnosis and efficient with her treatment and follow up. She and her staff members are very professional, conscientious and helpful. Dr. Ravits is a serious personality with a caring and considerate heart. She will take the time to personally look in on her waiting room, to be sure nobody is waiting too long. She will offer her direct phone line to contact her if there might be a follow up question. She will also price treatment very fairly, especially considering her level of expertise. I appreciate all of this. I also appreciate her cozy and comfortable office, which immediately puts you at ease, with its personal touches. All in all, I would recommend Dr. Ravits to anyone, including my husband, who will see her next month. read more
