Staff is extremely rude. Dr. Samadi has been seeing my brother and I for over 5 years now. He has operated on my brother several times and at our last visit he told my brother his ear was good. Today my brother has horrible pains, and my mom took him to the doctors office so they can recommend medicine to give him or if the doctor had a minute to check was going on. Instead the ladies in the front rudely said "We don't take patients without appointments take him to his primary doctor" who knows nothing about his ear or surgery. The reason for the lowest rating for this doctor is for the hidden fees involved that no one explains. For starters, when I handed the receptionist my credit card for my co-pay she said, "Oh you don't have cash or check? If not, there's a surcharge for using a credit card for your co-pay." I've never heard of that in a doctor's office, only in cheap convenience stores. Their appointment reminder email should have included a note to please bring cash or check or incur a surcharge fee for credit cards. Secondly--and this is the real kicker--I was charged more than a few hundred OVER my co-pay for services not covered by my very good insurance coverage. Be wary if the doctor looks in your ears and--WITHOUT asking for permission or letting you know that this will be billed as 'surgery' for doing this--removes leftover Q-Tip cotton from your ear. I was also charged over a thousand dollars (partially covered by insurance) with 'surgery' for putting a scope up my nose. Which I guess??! could be understandable, but Dr. Samadi didn't say one word about this type of service typically falling outside of insurance coverage. These charges are really quite crooked. I've see specialists and have never charged extra to diagnose the problem I made the appointment for (and if it's typically not covered, I am explicitly told this). I see a neurologist and he never charges me extra for reflex tests. I went to this doctor for a problem tasting and was then charged a fee to be told not to smoke (I'm not kidding, this was billed as a fee and on the EOB, it was billed as taking 8-10 minutes). Also, they sent this overcharge bill to the WRONG ADDRESS, and when I didn't pay that first and only bill, they put me into collections--which tells me they swindle people a lot and are quick to have a collections agency take the matter over. It's a shame because honestly, my interaction with the doctor was fine and professional, and all of his staff were just as pleasant and professional as he was. Dr. Samadi fixed my daughters tongue tie, she wasn't eating was only 2 months old and everywhere I went wanted $800 and I didn't have that they worked with my insurance. They helped me it was a bit of a drive from where I live but the staff was very kind to me and my baby, only reason I gave it a four was the doctor was a tad bit brash and told my two year old what to do and was a bit rude to her which I didn't like. But professional he did his job and it helped a lot. read more

We took our daughter to Dr. Samadi because our 2-year old daughter had persistent fluid in her ears at her 2-year checkup and out of an abundance of caution her pediatrician recommended seeking the services of a ENT. Unlike some of the other reviews, we found the office environment efficient and professional. However, the advice and recommendations provided by Doctor Samadi were irresponsible and likely put my daughter at undue risks. After examining my daughter, he concluded that the fluid in her ears had been there for a long time, and in his estimation was likely to cause hearing damage and slow her speech development. These are scary things to hear as a parent. He recommended implanting ear tubes and having her adenoids removed. He said he does over 1,000 of these surgeries a year which was just one of many red flags for me. The cost was going to be well over $15k and there were multiple risks. Because we couldn't bear the thought of sedating our toddler and having her wheeled away from us for surgery, we asked the doctor for a list of natural alternatives to pursue in lieu of the surgery. In his words, "this is a structural issue with the Eustachian tube, none of the holistic options will work, the fluid is thick like peanut butter". Though the doctor seemed knowledgeable, the entire operation seemed a little too slick. I couldn't shake the thought that if he actually did complete 1,000 of these surgeries a year, he would literally need to recommend it to every prospective patient he saw in order to hit that #. We told him that we'd sleep on it and get back to him. That same day we took my daughter to a holistic ENT. He examined her and recommended a holistic nasal spray. 10 days after beginning the nasal spray we took her back to our pediatrician and guess what - no fluid! It infuriates me that Dr. Samadi insisted that natural alternatives couldn't work instead wanted to put her through the risk that surgery represents. At best, he's not up to speed with recent breakthroughs in natural alternatives. At worst, he's prioritizing his financial gains over the needs of the kids that he sees. Either way, I'd recommend you find a different ENT for your child. read more

The staff manager was very rude and canceled my appointment on spot because i had to call my insurance company since they couldn't figure it out. To all my NJ friends who have children. I never post anything like this but I'm so angry that I want to get the word out. If your child ever needs an ENT DO NOT use Dr. Samadi in Paramus. The office staff is terrible and they will nickel and dime you for everything. If you pay anything with a credit card, they will even charge you a fee for that. They will also not follow proper protocol post operatively to keep the money your insurance company pays them for the first post op appointment. So when you go to the first post op appointment that THEY schedule, they will charge you and expect a copay bc its out of the post op window. As per my insurance company, they billed it as a regular office visit, not post operative visit. Not only that, I had to give them $350 prior to My daughter's surgery and they claimed I never gave it to them! I had to give them credit card statements to prove to them that I gave them the money with the transaction #. Then they were like "ok we found the money" I told Rachel, the billing manager, why I'm not paying the $25 and her response is "we will just send you to collections" and they hung up on me! I'm not done with them yet. I made my insurance company aware of what was happening and they were shocked. My daughters chart is now in utilization review. I plan on making calls to the, BBB, office of professional discipline, and the Hackensack medical board since he has privileges there. read more

My mother, uncle and my aunt had all gone to see this doctor in separate appointments and for each patient he simple recommended surgery in the end which is just ridiculous. It reflects the level of uncertainty when it comes to trusting this doctor for any sort of judgement on your case. The front desk itself wasn't very professional either in dealing with patients in an organized manner. I honestly wouldn't even leave 1 star after hearing of all their experiences. This place is the absolute worst. The office manager is a pig. They are eager to get you to do surgery, they will literally schedule your surgery within days to preempt you from getting a second opinion. It seems like this office recommends the same procedures for every kid, which is also a bit suspicious. You go in for ear tubes and they say you also need to remove adenoids. Thankfully my baby's pediatrician didn't agree with removing adenoids, and now that i have taken my baby to a different doctor , he said he cant even understand why that was recommended in the 1st first place.After surgery, good luck getting a follow up appointment. The office manager literally told me i should find another doctor because i ask too many questions and she can't help me, what!! Well i took her advice and found another doctor, and his staff is absolutely amazing, my baby enjoyed the visit very much and the staff was more than happy to answer all of my questions. Even 1 star is being too kind for this extremely unprofessional and crooked practice. I am a mother of 3, a consummate professional that has a background ranging went from ABC, Goldman Sachs to the startup world and never ever have I experienced such rude and unethical staff and workplace behavior. My 12 month old has been suffering with a recurring illness that needed immediate attention. I call Dr Samadi's office to FIRST inquire if they take my insurance and was very clear and repeatedly told Rachel the office manager that took my call that I would not come if my insurance was not accepted. She told me yes immediately and i again asked about my specific plan since it's new and she put me on a long hold and came back and again confirmed that yes they accept my insurance. So I went ahead and took the earliest appt available and rearranged my entire schedule and secured paid help for my oldest two children so they create any sort of disturbance at the drs office. On my way over just 15 minutes before my appt my referring Dr's office called me to say they don't accept my insurance and rejected the referral. Confused and upset I went inside since I was already there at that point. I was visible upset with tears in my eyes and I was greeted by Rachel the office manager that was waiting for me to tell me I had to pay $250 and that she never told me my insurance was accepted. LIES LIES LIES that wasnt even the worst. I called her out on lying to me and she said I never told her what my insurance was. I have 3 kids I'm at the doctor practically every week for something, I sure know what my insurance plan is! Due to my daughter's bad state I still offered to stay and offered to pay $150. She then in the most malicious way says to me "What do you think this is a bodega? Go to ER if you can't afford to pay us $250. I asked to speak to dr Samadi and she refused to allow me to speak with him. She then tells me to pay $250 cash and I can speak with the dr but also will have to wait 2.5 hours bc they are backed up. Rachel I know you are reading this and I know you didn't want me to speak with Dr Samadi because the reason we were in the this horrible situation was due to your providing me with false information. Dr. Samadi was a God sent gift to me. I have a13 year old and a 9 year, both sleep like angels thanks to Dr. Samadi. He performed surgery on both of them when they were toddlers. They both had sleep apnea and the the surgery was done when they 2 and 3 years of age. My nights are peaceful thanks yo him. My kids will have a much better and healthier life because of him. The billing manager, Rachel, was extremely inept, rude, and disgusting. She billed the insurance incorrectly and then yelled at me, basically called me a liar, and threatened to send my case to a collection agency for money which I did not owe (even my insurance said I did not owe a penny). Stay away from this office! I took my daughter to get her nose cauterized. A nurse came into the examination room and took my daughter to another room, and told me to wait in the examination room. When my daughter came back she told me they did an ear test. The nurse came in again and took my daughter again, and when my daughter returned she said they did a different ear test. When the doctor came in he told me her hearing is good. I told him I'm here to get her nose cauterized. He proceeded to look in her nose with a flashlight, then told her not to blow her nose, put Vaseline in the tip of her nose and gave me a piece of paper with a different over the counter nasal sprays she could use. Now fast forward to the bill I received in the mail. He charged me for an ear test an audio test and a test for an endoscopy (tube up the nose) which wasn't done! Not only did he charge me, but he submitted that to the insurance company! read more

It's a shame, because Dr. Samadi himself was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. He isn't overly fluffy, but he doesnt need to be. The issue that overshadows even himself as a doctor is the horrific office staff. I booked an apt. Online via zocdoc to only go into the office and be told that my appointment wasn't in the books bc their system isn't "working with that app." Then why are you listed on there? Seems pretty cut-and-dry right? I then waited for about an hour while my child was home with a babysitter just to be seen by the doctor. I was referred by the doctor to get a CAT scan and was told by his office that I would hear from the hospital within 2 weeks to schedule the appointment once the hospital cleared my insurance. Nearly two weeks later I called the hospital only to find out that they never even received a prescription from the office. Here I am sitting worried about the idea of this test in the first place and these people never even sent a prescription. Good thing I took matters into my own hands and followed up with the hospital otherwise I would still be sitting here waiting to do the CAT scan. I had to go back and forth with their office numerous times in a day to even have them send it over. They never wound up sending it and I had to go to the office to pick it up in order for the hospital to do the test. When I called the following week for results I was told the doctor would call me that day. Needless to say, I am still waiting for that call. It is unfortunate that his staff is so unprofessional and unorganized. From all of the reviews I've read it seems to be a major issue that hopefully he can address in the near future. We had our daughters surgery performed by Dr samadi. The best dr to be found, when he first met our child he immediately found out the issue and suggested surgery and we did the needful as suggested and no regrets my child went thru the tonsillitis and adenoids removal surgery and she sleeps like a princess now soundly. a million thanks to Dr Samadi for the good work such a professional. Now the 1 star I gave was for the office manager she was on a war path for sure... !!! guys beware as she was so so so rude, her behavior is so abrupt, she started shouting near my 5 year old child my child was horrified she was so not professional... Its impossible to deal with her. I read a lot of reviews about her behavior with patients but i wanted to give a try as the Dr is great but who ever visits this office save yourself from the eye of office manager thats what she called her self... !! she can't be as bad as she can be... we were so disappointed. I have been referred to Dr Samadi by my kid's PCP. First day was okay , the staff and the doctor were okay . The only complaint is that he told me that my daughter had allergies , but explained none to me . I asked and was answered briefly . I don't know but I felt unwanted there . We were rescheduled after a month , for a sleep study . After that was done I was trying to reschedule my daughters appointment so Dr Samadi can give us a clear answer on my daughters condition , it all began from there . It's been 3 weeks and they always tell me that they didn't receive the test results for sleep study , and we're gonna have to reschedule , which is fine , I understand ! But I what I don't understand is , how can the staff be so RUDE! I called this morning because I was scheduled for 1:45!! They tell me they don't have the results yet , I said okay but the Dr needs to see her anyways ! The receptionist (ESTER ) was kind enough to laugh at my suggestion and said that i would have to call them myself and call Dr Samadi back to be able to come and see him . I said I would do that but he has to SEE HER !!! After I for frustrated I decided to ask for the supervisor ! "The supervisor" is on the phone , answering very unpleasantly , and she seemed so annoyed with me , "DO YOU WANT US TO CALL THE HOSPITAL ANS GET THE RESULTS"? I said to her well first off "Hi" She didn't reply to that ! Which is fine , that was my way of knowing if she was as unhelpful , unprofessional, and arrogant , as ESTER. She called the hospital she said and they don't pick up , she said she'll try them later.( I doubt she called ! ) She apologized ! After I told her that I WILL TAKE MY KID TO ANOTHER ENT! All i wanted is for Dr Samadi to see my daughter regardless of the SS results , he's the "kid friendly" , ENT after all , and we're entitled every right to see him anytime we feel the need to . I guess they didn't want us there , and they really did a great job at making us stay away for good . I will go to another ENT and hopefully will be treated as a patient and a parent who want their kid to be okay . A parent's frustration is enough to make you loose your mind and you expect the doctor to make you feel at ease and assure you everything will be okay with your child . Against my better judgment after having read all of the reviews I had decided that perhaps my experience would different. Oh how wrong I was. I showed up 15 minutes early for my appointment to allow time for paperwork fast forward to an hour and 15 minutes later; there I am, still waiting to see the doctor. I walk up to the receptionist (who was very nice to me) and she said that they would be calling me in soon. The only reason why I didn't leave is because I really needed to see the doctor. A few minutes later I'm called into the back and put in an exam room. After twenty minutes of sitting there. I had more than enough. I leave the room and walk to the reception area and ask if I'm next. A different woman tells me no, that there were 5 people in front of me. At that time I asked for my check back (thank God that I didn't put my deductible on my credit card) and that I would be leaving. When it came to giving me my money back the first receptionist said that she would set me up with preliminary testing (that I probably could done much earlier). So I'm whisked away to take my exams (which took a good 20 minutes) and am escorted back to the exam room. Fifteen minutes later the doctor came in. I must say that he knows his stuff. I was very impressed that he was familiar with my issue as few doctors I have been to are. He took his time, answered my questions and then told me that I should come back and see another doctor. I make my appointment and come back 3 weeks later to see the other doctor. I show up for my appointment, wait an hour and 15 minutes and the receptionist spots the doctor (who you could tell was on his way out the back door) and tells him that he has a patient waiting. I see them conversing so I get up and walk to the counter, he sees me and tells me that he cannot see me as he has an important engagement. The receptionist tells him that I had been waiting an hour and I reminded her that it was an hour and 15 minutes. Long story short he tells me that his wife has oil on the stove as she was preparing a dinner and that I should reschedule for next week at which time I asked for my paperwork so that I could go to another doctor as I would never return back. He says that he wasn't aware of my appointment (yeah right) because had he been, he would have had someone call me to cancel/reschedule. He was polite as was I but it was just too much. That being said; take heed to the reviews. Going there is nothing short of a nightmare and there's no guarantee that you're going to see the doctor. A shame. read more

Absolutely awful. Stay away!!! I have never put a review up befroe but I am so disgusted by Dr Samadi that I had to warm others to stay away. If I could give him 0 stars I would. When my son was 1yr old he was having constant ear infections so his PCP referred us to Dr Samadi. After the visit which was not horrible he recommend to put tubes in his ears and remove his adenoids. Everything went fine. We went to the normal every 6 month check ups waiting forever in the process to see the doctor. When he hit the 2 year mark having the tubes in his ears Dr Samadi told me lets give it 6 more months and see if they come out and if not they will have to be removed. Ok fine. The next appt came and just happened to be when there was 18inches of snow. I had to reschedule for 2-3 weeks later. When we went to this appt Dr Samadi advise me that 1 tube fell out and the other one was embedded in his ear drum and needs to come out immediately cause he was getting some hearing loss. I of course booked the surgery for the next available spot which was 2 weeks later which would have been this coming Friday. On Saturday I received a letter in from the surgical center advising me that the day of the surgery I would have to pay them close to $1900.00. I freaked out and called 1st thing on Monday morning to try to set up some kind of arrangements. I called 2 times and no one could even be bothered to call me back. Later that aftn I received a call from Dr Samadis office thinking it was about payment arrangements but no it was to advise me that in addition to the surgical center I would have to pay Dr Samadi a little over $1300.00 the day of the surgery. I started to get very upset and again asked for payment arrangements which they advise me that since my deductible for my insurance is so high they cannot do anything for me. The I start to get upset which the women on the phone had absolutely no compassion for. She basically told me if if was not paid my 3.5yr old son could not have the surgery. Luckily my husband was at his PCP getting his pre op done. She looked into his ear and said that the tube infact was not completely embedded in his ear that she could see it. I know she is not a ENT but she is a doctor and can clearly see that the tube was not embedded. I called this am and cancelled the surgery. I am absolutely disgusted btu the way I was treated and the lies that came from them. I am going to another Ent who will be able to help my child without ripping people off. read more

Dr Samadi was amazing! My son had been having dizzy spells every day for over a week. I called several ENT's on our list and Dr. Samadi was the only doctor who would see my son the day he got out of the hospital. He was very nice to my son, he explained every test he was running and why, he made my son feel comfortable. He treated us very well during a really scary time. He discovered the dizzy spells were not related to my sons ears and referred us onto a neurologist. From the moment we walked in the door we were greeted, taken back by a very nice nurse, the woman who did my sons hearing test was an absolute angel. Every person who we came in contact with there was so nice. I just want to thank you Dr. Samadi for taking my son at the last minute, making time to see him and answering all the questions I had. You are a wonderful doctor and should we ever need an ENT we will surely be back. Thank you to all the nurses and front desk for being so kind to me as well! I highly recommend Dr. Samadi and his staff. He even made my son laugh when we were about to leave telling us a joke. What a wonderful experience! Thank you! read more

After encountering one of the rudest front desk managers I have ever met, I then sat with my teen in one of several treatment rooms at this office for well over an hour and a half , - to then ONLY see an assistant to the doctor who removed a tiny bit of ear wax from my teen daughters ear to proceed with checking them and then checked her tonsils due to a very minor concern which was the reason we were there in the first place. Dr. S. then comes in after his assistant leaves and is with us for maybe a total of 15 minutes during which time he greets my daughter and I stating that he would be putting a skinny tube up my daughters nose to check for obstruction? - WHAT.....(perplexing to say the least)? .....We were there for her tonsils!! While typing away, adding to what his assistant had written Dr. S. begins asking questions about MY health at my daughters visit? WE WERE THERE TO CHECK HER TONSILS .....I responded to him never thinking .... never imagining that MY concerns about MY health issues would end up in HER report as if my daughter was the one having them!! I brought this up upon pick up of final report to the rude front desk and then to the equally rude office manager that the front desk had now handed my concern over to. Office manager then arrogantly responds to me stating that the doctor would call me that evening to address report issues......all for naught, nothing took place or has taken place ; Dr. S. has yet to call even after another attempt made by me to rectify the issue. A definite "twilight zone experience!" I have since had an appointment to visit a new doctor to take care of my daughter and have cancelled the appointment I had made for myself (regarding my issues that ended up in HER report) as well. My daughter is now under the care of new Doc who without my attaching Dr. S's name to my experience- was able to finished my recount of what had happened by asking me "let me guess......are we talking about Dr. S. here?". .SCARY! The new Doc knew and knows about this sort of thing happening to others at the hands of Dr. S .....it is not an isolated incident!!!! Was unaware of the countless bad reviews. Wish I would have known!!! It bothers me that my daughter now has a medical report that has recorded issues that belong to her mom as well as some other bogus remarks which Dr. S. and his office staff seem to not even care to rectify.... read more

Staff without consultation with a doctor put me on bunch absolutely unnecessary tests. When doctor saw me roughly 5 min find out that my problem is nothing to do with ear, but simply mosquito bite. Fantastic, knowledgeable, thorough and careful doctor. I came to Dr. Samadi for a second opinion and was so happy I did. He took his time explaining and discussing options, offered his professional and personal (I asked) opinion, and was supportive of the decisions I made. My son had a tongue tie and I debated on whether to get it snipped right away, or wait. Dr. Samadi was very caring after the procedure and even called us later that evening at home just to check on my son. I would recommend him to anyone. He did not specify the cause of anxiety in my throat, my son and appointed immediately antibiotics that our pediatrician then canceled. And then Dr. Samadi billed us $ 1,000. After reading about Dr. Samadi's impressive education credentials, I was hopeful about our first visit. My toddler had had numerous ear infections and had several courses of antibiotics so my husband and I were concerned parents with a lot of questions. My first impression of his office was not a positive one. The office staff was not particularly friendly and I was surprised when they asked my husband for my license (because I was the primary insurance carrier...but he has his own insurance card and it is a family plan...I was asked to go get my license in the car (what if I had not been there). After this, we went to pay the copay with our credit card and we were told there would be a $10.00 service fee. I was completely flabbergasted by this policy. We were told that this policy was told to patients when they call to set-up an appointment ( not something I remember hearing, and regardless of whether it was told to us, it is still a not a classy move for a doctor/management to make on their patients). Then we met Dr. Samadi. He was not overly warm. He told us that our son had a lot of fluid and he was concerned about hearing loss. My husband made a comment about wanting to get to the route of the problem for my son. Dr. Samadi, in a very cold condescending tone, replied, "Take him out of daycare...daycare is winning." Who says that? We carefully chose our daycare and believe that there are numerous benefits to him being in that type of setting. We also understood that with daycare he would be more susceptible to illness, but without question my son's ENT issues stemmed far beyond daycare. The doctor can have his own personal opinion, but to say what he said (to patients who may have no other option) was insensitive. During a follow-up visit, we waited well OVER an hour to be seen by the doctor (and I was with my toddler who was very good, but started to lose his patience quickly after 45 minutes of waiting). Again, office staff was not friendly and this time even more rude! Bottom line...Dr. Samadi has good credentials and does seem knowledgeable, but bedside manner and office staff was a deal breaker!!!! read more
