We had an amazing experience with Daniel Stednitz team. We own an old house that still had the original cast iron main sewer line. We came back from vacation in September and we were immediately dealing with a kitchen and 2 bathrooms flooding. We called Dan based on a neighbor's referral and they came out quickly. They were on our roof where access to the clean out was and jetted the line. It was an emergency and they pulled out all the stops. The price was incredibly fair, not just for the urgency, but also for the service. We talked about relocating the mainline in the future and went about our lives. Well, we went out of town again for Thanksgiving and our old house burped again and we had a less catastrophic back up, but again, needed assistance. Daniel and his team to the rescue. He immediately jetted the line again and assessed the longterm solution after putting a scope through the pipes. Did I mention this is an old house and all the plumbing is underneath the house with less than 2 feet of clearance? The remedy was to dig out the original cast iron and replace with new pipe. If you saw the gross pipe they dug out, you'd be surprised that we didn't have massive leaks or more issues. Some of the pipe only had an inch diameter for sewage to pass. The team minimized the inconvenience, my water was disconnected only when absolutely necessary. On a multiple day project, we were only completely shut down for a few hours. I had the nicest and most professional group of guys working on this grimy and literally backtracking job. They were under the house for days digging out old pipe in tight corners. I felt safe in the house alone and felt comfortable leaving to run errands that could not be postponed. I know I won't see them for awhile because the job is done to perfection. But if I do need to call or someone asks for a referral, this is the team. read more

I recently had some major work done on my house to repair drainpipes and unclog/reline the sewer line. Daniel was able to quickly provide an estimate which avoided tearing up the street. The team arrived each day on-time, and the work was completed on-time with minimal disruption. I have not had any drain problems since. At no additional cost, he included some necessary line work which had been missed on the estimate, and he even fixed my toilet. They rebuilt the inside of the tank, no more water leaking through the gasket.. but in three tries were incapable of getting the tank on straight and knocked a chip out of the tank. Also disappointed with the attitude... both from the young guys doing the work and from Daniel. Yes, the workers who built my condo may have not put the toilet on straight but, they were able to get the tank on without it listing to one side about an inch and having the tank fit against the wall so the lid won't stay in place. At the second visit the jammed the tank lid on, tight against the wall, I couldn't remove it, imagine if the toilet had begun to over flow... took two of them to lift the lid off, guy tells me "see, it comes off" The last visit, the young guy says, "I hope we are done here". If he had done it right, he could have been done the first time, can I have the tip I gave them back before I noticed how crocked the tank was and that the top didn't fit on? I know, I should have looked at the work more carefully. At the time I was happy to have the toilet not wasting water but, months of the scraping sound of the tank lid as it moves around wondering if I should remove it so a guest doesn't chip or damage it, considering finding a plumber who who can straighten out what Stednitz didn't want to bother to do... I'm less satisfied. I'm glad I didn't pay for them to reset the toilet and this was a trial run for a new water heater, new faucets for both bathrooms and eventually, a new sink and counter top... And, kicking myself, I knew it was too small of a job for them, I sent a lot of texts before we set up the appointment, next time I will know, some plumbers don't feel a small job is worth doing or, worth doing right or maybe that a senior woman, doesn't deserve having the work done right. read more

Needed a washing machine standpipe replaced, son meet Daniel at a plumbing supply store looking for the part to do it ourself, called Daniel a couple days later as he was booked for the rest of the week, set up an appointment, Daniel arrived right on time, took a look at the old rotting standpipe, gave us a quote to replace it with pvc pipe, did the work, was in and out in under 30 minutes. They are only after your money. We had a problem with one of our drains backing up into the bathtub and causing the entire house to smell like garbage. Daniel took a look at it and suggested jetting the pipe. He promised that would get rid of the problem for a long time and $700 later our drain was "cleared" from whatever was causing that horrible smell. Less than 2 weeks later the smell came back and when we called they sent another guy to come look at it and he said to just "run some soapy water" down the drain. But nope. The smell didn't go away, in fact it just got stronger and more awful. I called again and this time they sent 2 guys who proposed we spend another $800 in efforts to find out what was causing the smell, even though Daniel had "guaranteed" his work for 60 days. We are extremely unhappy with this company and would not recommend them to anyone. read more

Daniel was good at explaining our options and helping with any last-minute details. His crew was at our house for about a week doing a big job, but we never had to move out even for a night; they made sure we could use a shower and a toilet every evening before they left. My office is located in a business park and my neighbor and I share a common drain for our kitchen sink. Both kitchen sinks were running slow, and unknown to me my neighbor called the landlord and they recommended Daniel Stednitz Plumbing. The plumbers came out and worked on my neighbors sink but could not resolve the problem so they went in our unit and worked on our sink. They said they could not fix the problem but charged $405.00 for their services because they worked for 3 hours on the job. They wrote on the service order they recommended hydro-jetting for an additional $545.00 This all happened on a Friday and they came back on a Monday to check on the drain but it cleared up over the weekend. My neighbor presented me with a copy of the bill and asked if I would pay for half of the bill. I told them that I thought the bill was very high but agreed to pay for half of the bill. I own an apartment building and never pay more than $125.00 to have a mainline cleaned out but these guys want to charge $130.00 per hour for their service even if not successful. I spoke to the owner and he did not want to adjust the bill so we are paying our half but will never use them again nor will our neighbor. Be careful when using these guys. read more

Yesterday was the second time we called Daniel Stednitz Plumbing for an emergency. The first time, at the end of last year, a pipe broke off the main line going to our house, flooding our master bedroom. Daniel came out immediately, diagnosed the problem and had excellent options for us, minimized the disaster that was already in motion. What can I say...these guys are on top of it..from response time...to how fast the work gets done...Daniel came to my house to inspect a leak in my bathroom ...he found the problem...told me how much...which was a reasonable price...and I was like ooook...let's do it...he had one of his helpers with him...and they knocked it out in 35 mins...he told me it was gonna take an hour...in and out.
