The result was perfection : he instantly bonded with her and gained her confidence. He introduced her to a range of properties, quickly assessed her preferences and completed the search in two visits. My wife and I met him, when we acted as a sounding board for her on the final tour. She and we found Donald to be highly professional, knowledgable, thorough, personable and patient. His recommendations were totally on target. He also assisted in expediting the rigorous leasing process. We would unequivocally recommend as your real estate agent of choice in Brooklyn, as well has extending that recommendation throughout the City.

He is, without a doubt, the most patient, knowledgeable, and detail-oriented realtor I've ever worked with (and just a lovely person to boot). Roman took the time to truly understand what we were looking for and worked tirelessly to ensure that every option aligned with our needs. He made us feel comfortable and confident at every step - always listening, answering questions with care, and offering practical advice when viewing apartments. When we finally found *our* apartment, he was with us every step of the way, helping us assemble an outstanding team of professionals who made the process seamless. He expertly managed the complex coop application, ensuring that we felt completely organized and prepared at each stage. Having him in our corner when we encountered roadblocks or issues, made the overwhelming moments feel far more manageable. We are incredibly grateful for his guidance in helping us find our forever home and for the team he built around us. I wholeheartedly recommend Roman to anyone searching for an apartment or home (and have already done so multiple times). Do yourself a favor--work with Roman!

She was…read moreamazing at both - for the sale she handled all the staging personally and had a great eye for small changes we could make that had a huge impact on the outcome. She also did a ton of marketing/networking with buyers brokers and hosted an incredible open house with record attendance (in a pretty mediocre market). On the purchase side she was very knowledgeable about the local market including renovation options/costs/vendors. She is well connected in the pre-market space and was never pushy but brought us interesting ideas along with getting us in quickly to see things we had found. She navigated a very drawn out purchase and was an excellent advocate with good instincts about when she should handle something vs the attorneys. We're a year past closing and she's still checking in, offering help with things that are dragging out, and is an phenomenal resource for any number of trades specialists.

She helped us explore new neighborhoods that weren't on our radar and landed us an awesome condo in Clinton Hill, and when we needed to size up for a growing family she immediately thought outside of the box for us and found our dream home in Bedstuy. She is also very honest and always has the backup data and experience to support why something is priced the way it is, and as new buyers and sellers we needed the expertise!

I woked with Michael Zats to sell my apartment in Brooklyn Heights. He was, in all respects, the…read morebest broker I have ever worked with. The apartment was listed for sale in November, 2024. Several other brokers said it would be difficult, perhaps impossible, to sell then and suggested I wait until Spring. Zats had a photographer taking pictures the day after I signed the selling agreement and held an open house about 7 days later. He held two other open houses and I had multiple bids in 18 days. I especially appreciated that he called me on almost every one of those 18 days to update me on what had happened that day with my apartment. Zats had a strategy for selling the apartment, he executed that strategy and effctively communicated what he was doing to me. And key to this very successful sale is that he worked extremely hard.

We were setting up an apartment viewing and then he randomly just stopped answering the day it was supposed to be. I emailed, called, and texted him with no response. Finally called again a few hours before the showing and he tells me they have someone else signing the lease. It takes a matter of seconds to email me back to let me know, but instead I have to hunt you down, and somehow you think that you deserve a FIFTEEN PERCENT BROKER FEE FOR THE ANNUAL RENT??? Actually unreal. What an embarrassment to the Brooklyn Heights Real Estate name. Not interested in any other listings they may have had for me instead now. The agent that we worked with Suzanne was completely unhelpful and wasted our time. First, when we…read morewent to visit the location, I (a person of color) asked questions, but Suzanne responded to partner (a white person), never making eye contact with me. We're one of many couples who have less than stellar credit, but a fantastic income, references, etc and we were upfront about it. Even after she saw that we could clearly afford the apartment (I make 80X the rent) and we had an amazing reference from our landlord, Suzanne intensely scrutinized our application asking for documentation which was not required (like retirement savings account info). She then asked us for a guarantor. I managed to secure a guarantor (who was also Black), whose credit score is 700+ and whose income is on par with my own, and we were told that they still don't meet the threshold. When I asked the credit score threshold that they were seeking, I did not get a response. Instead I was asked if I wanted her to submit the application. THEN at the very last minute, Suzanne informed me that the rent was actually $700 more than listed on Nooklyn's website but that we would receive 2 months free. When asked where I could find this info on the website or in writing I did not receive a response. I truly believe that this bait and switch was an attempt to get us to withdraw our application and regardless, the apartment was not worth the $4395 net price they would appear on the lease. Still we were willing to consider paying since we'd given Nooklyn $1000 deposit and had gone through the trouble of finding a guarantor. Obviously, we did not get the apartment, but I do not even believe that Suzanne submitted our documentation to the landlord. As soon as she saw our credit score she seemed disinterested and attempted to discourage us from applying. Usually, a realtor would attempt to show you other apartment options, but for Suzanne we were just a credit score. A note of advice: if Nooklyn is unable to accommodate individuals with less than stellar credit regardless of income, savings and other factors just be upfront rather than wasting the potential tenants time. Or perhaps they just cannot accommodate people of color with credit issues.

We were stunned and utterly exhausted after the experience, and even if we liked the apartment, would not have continued with an application where we'd be forced to interact with him again. Yikes.
