Fast, easy, reliable! Hate when I have to call Daniel, but everytime I do he's gotten me out of trouble.

Daniel is helpful, kind and awesome at his craft. We have old doors in our home and were locked out of our master bedroom; Daniel showed up within minutes to help us out. He figured out the problem, got the door open, and he'll be installing new locks so it doesn't happen again. He not only has been great to us, but he was very patient with our yippy (but harmless) terrier. TL DR: 3 words - honest, reliable, and efficient. What more can you ask for in a locksmith? I called Daniel because I had a file cabinet gifted to me that needed to be unlocked. He gave me a fair quote and arrived on time. What I thought was going to be a 5 min quick pick job ended up requiring more tools and close to 45 min. When he arrived he realized there was a broken key that was lodged inside the lock. After some tense moments of struggle where it seemed like the key was stuck forever, he was somehow able to pop it out - using these bendy tools that looked like nail cutters and ear picks (but more high tech). Once the broken key was out he was able to unlock it, but then the real fun began - the cabinet wouldn't open! He tried every angle and the damn cabinet drawer would not budge. After more tense moments of struggle and thinking he would have to give up and this huge cabinet would go to waste, he realized the lock mechanism in the cabinet was stuck. Once he pried that open, the cabinet door popped out! What a relief! I really appreciated his determination to help and even though this was a more complicated job, he did not charge me extra (but I gave him a small tip anyway). He even offered to make a new key for the cabinet lock. If I ever need a locksmith again in the future I know who to call. read more

I rarely write reviews but my experience with Daniel's Lock and Key compelled me to do so today. This is a detailed description of my experience. I searched for locksmiths within my local area on Yelp. I started at the top with #1 and made my way down the list. What I needed was to have a cylinder lock removed from my storage unit which I had lost the keys for. What these companies were wanting to charge me was absolutely ridiculous- $90 all the way up to $175. I was told that it was the hardest lock to remove by a couple of companies. At least three companies didn't know what a cylinder lock was and I had to send them pictures. A couple of companies asked me what I had already been quoted. Excuse me? That's none of your damn business. Just give me your quote fair and square. Don't play these games and attempt to get the most money you can. Quote me a fair and just rate for the service that I am needing. A few of the people I spoke with were rude, laughing at me or hanging up on me when I said that their rate was too expensive. One guy said "good luck, you're not gonna find anyone who will cut that lock for you for less than $100" before hanging up. One guy was noisily chewing his food while speaking with me. There were a few people that I couldn't understand at all. After calling more than 12 locksmiths, over an hour on the phone, I was annoyed and frustrated and close to giving in to paying whatever ridiculous amount I had to pay to get the job done. I decided I'd make one more call, which happened to be Daniel, and I'm so glad that I did. Wow! What a difference! He answered right away and was pleasant and attentive. I told him what I needed done. Without hesitation, he gave me a very fair and reasonable quote. He knew exactly what a cylinder lock was and he was able to meet with me the next morning at the exact time I needed. The next morning, I pulled up to the storage facility and he was already waiting for me and was wearing a mask which I very much appreciated. He removed the lock in about 3 minutes, I paid him, he thanked me for my business and was on his way. He was professional, friendly, on time, and charged a very fair rate. I was so impressed with how completely different he carried himself and operated his business in comparison to everyone else. He's a hard working, honest man who deserves your business.
