Based on my prior experience with Lomita Lock & Key (they copied a key to a cylinder storage lock for me), I decided to call them to rekey several Kwikset type locks, allowing me to only carry one house key. They made an appointment for later that afternoon. They had a prior job that ran long, but they gave a very accurate ETA for their arrival and their timeline to complete the work. They arrived and were able to quickly rekey the three locks. I tested while they were there and all of the locks worked perfectly with the key. I paid by check. *** $10 minimum on credit card transactions *** On a normal Thursday morning my car key suddenly snapped in half. I panicked a bit and discovered this place through a Yelp search. Luckily my broken key was still able to start my car and I got to Lomita Locks & Keys at 3 PM. There wasn't a designated parking lot so I just parked on the driveway entrance. Owner Ray was very friendly and asked whether I would like to repair or replace the key. I decided to repair my key because (1) it was cheaper to fix my key and (2) Ray said he can fix it in 20 minutes. Ray kept his promise and replaced my key with a new plastic cover in 20 minutes. He even said my battery was running low and replace with a new one too. Total was approximately $100 ($90 key fob replacement + $10 battery replacement). Overall I was extremely satisfied with the service and would highly recommend this lock & key shop! read more

For some time I've needed three different keys to be duplicated. Yet I don't care much for those copy it yourself kiosk machines I see at the supermarkets. Mainly because they seem to charge more than an actual locksmith shop would. Glad I came here! Not only was a copy just a few dollars and cents, but the person working here also straightened out one of the ones I brought in, since it was slightly bent. He also advised me not to use the old one anymore. Because even though he straightened it, it won't be long before it actually breaks off into the lock. Which of course, would make the lock a little too effective. By even keeping me out. All in all, good experience. Only issue it that the parking lot here is a bit narrow. And it's only one way in and out. So unless you have a car smaller than a Camry, you may find yourself having to back out onto the main street. By the way. Mo is an amazing guy who went out of his way to help me out with my issue. I contacted him on Yelp with a bunch of other locksmiths asking for a key replacement. While others continued to either give me high ball prices. He understood the value of the work that needed to be done and was able to go above and beyond. First he remembered the conversation that we had on Yelp about having a key being made, and me forgetting that it was on backorder. Second, he had a key that he believed MIGHT work with my car and went through the process of cutting, programming and making sure that it worked wonders.
