Met colleagues and I are in town for a conference and stopped by this little bakery to appease our sweet tooth. I ordered a sable cookie and a Carmel "D" Light dome (Carmel mousse cake) and I was pleasantly surprised! Though I wasn't a huge fan of the cookie (not a knock against the bakery, I'm just not a huge crunchy or more firm cookie fan) I was blown away by how good the Carmel cake was!! It was rich and creamy but not overly sweet; perfection in a dome. Plus there are sooo many options to choose from, anything could satisfy your taste buds. I have been here for 29 years and never stopped here. Finally popped in late on a Saturday and were greeted by friendly helpful staff, clean bakery then walked away with a box of reasonable priced sweet treats. The lemon and red velvet cake were sweet and delicious. The dark and white chocolate shortbread cookies, were thin and good. I liked the texture of a thinner shortbread. The chocolate and vanilla eclair were decadent, with the chocolate having the slight edge. read more

Like some others commented, this French pastry shop was an unexpected discovery for me today. I went to the Chinese restaurant a few stores away from it to pick up my to-go order late afternoon, I wanted to see what other businesses were in the same shopping center. Then this shop popped up in my search so without a reservation, I wasted no time to go and investigate it. Its humble existence was something I quickly noticed. It may not be super charming at a first glance but I paid a close attention to every bit of it from interior decoration to the display of sweets and I certainly came to appreciate that I was directed to this quaint shop by accident. The man behind the counter was nice and took the time to answer my questions. He said, "It depends on what you like and are looking for" when I told him I was having a hard time picking just one item. Then "Coffee Pecan Torte" caught my attention as the tag/name said "new item" so I went with it. According to the man, all the small (one person serving) cakes have larger versions of them so if you want to buy a whole (large) cake for l(et's say) a birthday party, you can do so. OK, so the Coffee Pecan torte? 'Twas very delightful! A good amount of sweetness, light, a bit fluffy are what I can say about this new item. And $5.50 is a good price for it as well. read more

What a treat! I'm from out of town and needed to find a last second gift to bring my family. Thankfully, I found Daniel's of Paris on Yelp. I'm so grateful I came to this shop. I bought the perfect Chocolate Mousse Cake. Jim helped me with my purchase. He was kind and easy to talk to. He shared his background and top selling pastries from the shop. Don't be dissuaded by the florescent lighting here, the sweets are delicious. The cake's ganache topping was drool worthy. I'd eat an entire cake of that alone. The mousse worked incredibly with the ganache. Notes of dark and creamy chocolate filled our mouths. The cake part could've been more moist for me, but overall, it was yummy. The decoration of the pasties are the best part. Our cake had an adorable chocolate Eiffel Tower on top. All the pasties had that beautiful Parisian detailing to it. Haven't been here for years and we were driving by, and my husband wanted a napoleon pastry. Walked in and a woman asked if we were there to pick up an order. We said no, and then she made a comment about how they're busy and we'll need to wait, then she turned around and went to the back. There was an older man and he was kind of on shock and didn't help us right away. We were the only customers there. Obviously we interrupted something and made the woman upset by coming in. Rude. I remember a nice French woman, when I was there years ago and remember the quality of the pastries. The shop looks very dated and dirty, with dirty and worn wallpaper, cake notebooks, etc. The items we got were not that great and rather plain and didn't taste fresh. Nothing like I remember or like Detour Bakery or Paris Baguette. Won't be back. read more

Well hot dang! Walked into the bakery and that first whiff of sweet heaven touched my soul like the first sip of my morning coffee. We gorged ourselves with Korean BBQ and decided we needed a sweet. Heheh, and then we found Daniel's of Paris. It is a quaint spot, but so many goodies inside! I forgot to take a picture of the displays because I was too busy drooling and deciding what i would get. My friends got the carrot cake tarte and chocolate mousse tarte. I got an Almondine, Paris Brest, and chocolate mousse tarte. Ohhh, they were DI.VINE. I loved that the filling was not too sweet - it was that perfect taste of sweet but just a little to sate your palate. I am so happy we found this place - we will definitely return! read more

Love this place! We stumbled upon it last night after picking up dinner in the neighborhood. We got a nice sample of things including the Opera cake (loved it!), cream puff (FYI - the cream puff is on the crumbly side but the cream used was amazing, not too sweet), mousse cake (for texture people, the cake is on the crumblier side, but I loved it) and a peach melba cake (this cake was really moist). It's impossible to give Daniel's a 5 star rating because it should be 10 stars. I've had a lot of great pastries at many places but Daniel's of Paris tops them all. The flavors are perfect, the ingredients are superb & yet not too rich. I ordered 4 pastries & each one is unique & exquisite. If you aren't sure if you should try them, you will not be disappointed. Find this store accidently, the service was good. The guy and lady behind the counter were very kind. We got several items because we couldn't decide what to get and i wished we had gotten more things!!!! All of them were delicious. The creme on the eclair and scone wasn't too sweet and very light. I have FINALLY found the best European-style pastry store in a Denver metro area. Not sure if it's a good or bad thing as now I have a strong urge to go there more than I should... I don't even know where to start as Daniel's of Paris has so many delicious items on their menu. Good thing my friends suggested a pastry named Swan, and it was such a special and beautiful treat. All the chocolate mousse pastries were mouthwatering and not too sweet and you could tell they are using high quality ingredients in everything they make. Even simple cookies melt in your mouth and, honestly, the best ones I've had in a while. I was truly wowed by every single items I've tried so far! I am so glad my friends recommended it as I would have never tried or found it on my own (it doesn't look like anything special from the outside and it is sharing a parking lot with lots of other random businesses). It is a to go only place! They do have some gluten free options as well (haven't tried them yet but the selection looked pretty good). I'm not sure if a tuile is considered a cookie or something else, but the plain tuiles at Daniel's of Paris are one of my favorite desserts. The tuile is lite in flavor so it isn't all sugary, which is my personal preference when it comes to sweets. It's a real challenge for me to pass this shop and no buy the tuile. read more

Years ago I discovered they make a delicious baguette but only on Saturday so they are my go to for a weekend baguette. Zut alors! How have I been on Yelp this long and never mentioned the popular pâtisserie (conveniently located very close by me) known as Daniel's of Paris? I must rectify this, tout de suite - so here's a look at the sweet, and occasionally savory, items you can expect to find. As soon as you enter the bakery's cozy quarters, the range of cakes and pastries confronting you will be the source of much conversation (nay, commotion), I'm sure. But shhhhh, I said SHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! I didn't mean to be uncouth just then, but merely wanted to highlight a very worthy addition to your food bucket list - the Chantal. Available as either a full cake or a smaller torte, the flavors of chocolate, hazelnut, and Amaretto meaningfully make their voices heard no matter which option you end up selecting. Élodie is a woman's name (especially popular among Wallons (French Belgians)) meaning roughly "wealth from afar" - and just a nibble of this raspberry/Grand Marnier/chocolate sensation is certain to put you in a very decadent mood. The Paris-Brest pastry is named for a bicycle race extending all the way to France's far northwest, and indeed, this praline-cream "sandwich" is wheely good. (I promise, that seemingly bad pun will make a lot more sense when you see it). On my most recent visit to Daniel's, I was captivated by the Togolais, which is a bit hard to describe academically - I suppose "shortbready, chocolatey, coconutty thing" will have to suffice for the purposes of this review. I'm sure you'll be able to come up with a much more sensible summary on your first bite. Hmm, perhaps I need to wake up a bit. Luckily, at Daniel's I can buy a slice or two of Gâteau Opéra (coffee-soaked almond cake) to perk me right up. But I've spent so much time rhapsodizing about sweet treats that I can't forget to give just a hint of space to solutions of a more savory sort. Did you know they made quiches? Yep! Whether your tastes lean more towards classic cheese, vivacious vegetables, or stunning seafood (remember to pre-order this last one) you'll find that Daniel's excels in eggy excellence. Lighter appetites can of course be satiated by mouthwatering ham- or spinach-stuffed croissants. And if you just need "un petit morceau" to tide you over, one of their quickbreads is sure to hit the spot. read more

I love this place! As far as French bakeries go, this quaint little shop surpasses all of them! I bought a bag of the croissants and they were the flakiest and most buttery croissants I've had. The freshness of the croissant was very distinct from the regular store bought or pre-baked and warmed up from other franchise coffee shops. We also had the Swan and it was both delicious and visually stunning. The dough was soft and airy and the cream was sweet and smooth. Will be returning very soon! read more

I really wanted to like them because they are close to our house plus it says Paris Bakery in the name. I decided to give them a shot with a mixed pastry box for my wife's birthday - someone who adores French food and has spent several years living there as well. Unfortunately the experience was totally lack luster and disappointing. I'm truly not convinced the products were freshly baked that day and each item we tried was stale & just sad. We ordered almond croissant, financier, madelaines, palmiers (there were not terrible - but certainly not worth the trip), chocolate mousse, regular croissants & grand marnier Choux. I'm sorry, everything looked beautiful but I didn't enjoy any of it...and I ordered 6 things. I thought being a French bakery, the treats would be less sugary than the typical American overloaded crap, but everything was too sweet and too rich. I got a delivery through Uber eats, feeling sorry for myself after having 2 fillings done and wanting something soft and sweet to eat. And apparently wanting to sabotage my new teeth. I like to try a variety of things so I usually halve everything with my hubby. In this case I ordered a few things geared towards him (coffee) and a few things for both of us. Originally I ordered a raspberry torte, coffee torte, cream horn, chocolate eclair, mocha square and a ganache covered chocolate dome. Someone from the store was quick to call me and let me know they were out of chocolate eclairs and the mocha square. Instead I got a chocolate horn (same filling as the eclair) and a chocolate square. In short (of my already long review) Raspberry torte - dry cake and frosting too sweet. Coffee torte - very rich and very sweet. Chocolate dome - Ganache was too rich and too much of it for the filling. Chocolate square - pretty much the same as the dome but with more cake. Balanced better than the dome. Horns - all sugar and pastry. Nothing I ordered left me feeling like I wanted to finish it, or go back to try anything else. read more

Such amazing desserts! They were actually closed on my last visit but inside working when I slowly creeped by the store front to drive by to see their hours. The lady inside waved me in and let me pick some tasty treats to make a friends birthday extra special with fresh macaroons and my office staff who also gets amazing treats when I have a chance to stop in. read more
