Coffee Pecan torte (close up): I was pretty pleased with it!
    Rika M.

Like some others commented, this French pastry shop was an unexpected discovery for me today. I went to the Chinese restaurant a few stores away from it to pick up my to-go order late afternoon, I wanted to see what other businesses were in the same shopping center. Then this shop popped up in my search so without a reservation, I wasted no time to go and investigate it. Its humble existence was something I quickly noticed. It may not be super charming at a first glance but I paid a close attention to every bit of it from interior decoration to the display of sweets and I certainly came to appreciate that I was directed to this quaint shop by accident. The man behind the counter was nice and took the time to answer my questions. He said, "It depends on what you like and are looking for" when I told him I was having a hard time picking just one item. Then "Coffee Pecan Torte" caught my attention as the tag/name said "new item" so I went with it. According to the man, all the small (one person serving) cakes have larger versions of them so if you want to buy a whole (large) cake for l(et's say) a birthday party, you can do so. OK, so the Coffee Pecan torte? 'Twas very delightful! A good amount of sweetness, light, a bit fluffy are what I can say about this new item. And $5.50 is a good price for it as well.

What a treat! I'm from out of town and needed to find a last second gift to bring my family. Thankfully, I found Daniel's of Paris on Yelp. I'm so grateful I came to this shop. I bought the perfect Chocolate Mousse Cake. Jim helped me with my purchase. He was kind and easy to talk to. He shared his background and top selling pastries from the shop. Don't be dissuaded by the florescent lighting here, the sweets are delicious. The cake's ganache topping was drool worthy. I'd eat an entire cake of that alone. The mousse worked incredibly with the ganache. Notes of dark and creamy chocolate filled our mouths. The cake part could've been more moist for me, but overall, it was yummy. The decoration of the pasties are the best part. Our cake had an adorable chocolate Eiffel Tower on top. All the pasties had that beautiful Parisian detailing to it. Hoping to come back one day and try more.

    Napoleon (Mille-Feuille)

I was recommended this bakery by a friend. I went during lunch on a Tuesday and tried one of their popular items "Napoleon". The Napoleon was not fresh- when I took a bite it was still defrosting. $3.75 for a frozen Napoleon, pass.

Find this store accidently, the service was good. The guy and lady behind the counter were very kind. We got several items because we couldn't decide what to get and i wished we had gotten more things!!!! All of them were delicious. The creme on the eclair and scone wasn't too sweet and very light. I could probably eat 10 of those if i let myself.... you must come to this place.

I have FINALLY found the best European-style pastry store in a Denver metro area. Not sure if it's a good or bad thing as now I have a strong urge to go there more than I should... I don't even know where to start as Daniel's of Paris has so many delicious items on their menu. Good thing my friends suggested a pastry named Swan, and it was such a special and beautiful treat. All the chocolate mousse pastries were mouthwatering and not too sweet and you could tell they are using high quality ingredients in everything they make. Even simple cookies melt in your mouth and, honestly, the best ones I've had in a while. I was truly wowed by every single items I've tried so far! I am so glad my friends recommended it as I would have never tried or found it on my own (it doesn't look like anything special from the outside and it is sharing a parking lot with lots of other random businesses). It is a to go only place! They do have some gluten free options as well (haven't tried them yet but the selection looked pretty good). I definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a special sweet treat :)

The ube latte was perfectly sweet with a strong ube flavor. The crème brûlée cruffin had a top that was so crispy from the toasted sugar that I couldn't cut into it, and the bottom was just stuffed full of cream. It was super messy to eat and impossible to share- next time I am getting my own. We also had the pandan coconut cupcake, which was good but not as exciting as the cruffin. The pandan and coconut were both equally strong flavors- I liked it better than my husband did. The Thai tea cake in a cup was also excellent, but outshone by the cruffin. They were out of a few other things we wanted to try by 11am on a Saturday, so get there early if you want something specific. The gentleman running the counter was very friendly and efficient, even when they were busy. Seriously, get the crème brûlée cruffin. I know I will be back for it.

Cute locally owned Viet-French bakery on Colfax. You'll love the dessert and coffee options here,…read morebut will be even more enamored by their community-oriented mindset and kind staff. There's a free parking lot behind the store, where you can even take advantage of the back entrance. The store isn't meant to be industrial chic or hipster, offering up a few communal picnic tables against faded white walls. What decor is present is probably artwork from a local artist on sale. Other packaged goods from other small businesses are also on offer. This means your eyes will immediately be drawn to their display cases of gorgeous pastries and the kitchen churning them out behind a glass divider. For the traditionalist, you can get a standard variety of croissants and muffins. But be a little adventurous. You might have seen their ultra buttery Ube and Pandan scones around town for sale at other businesses, and if you're a fan of those Southeast Asian flavors, be sure to try out one of their delectable cupcakes, cakes, or tarts. They're rich yet not too sweet (IYKYK) and pack a visual and gustatory punch. I pretty much never leave without getting one of their Strawberry Croissants too, a perfectly sized sweet treat of flaky pastry with light cream and fresh strawberries. Of their drinks and sandwiches, I'm a big fan of their Vietnamese Egg Coffee, but the Ube Latte was a bit too sweet for me. Just know you will be wired for the rest of the day unless you're a heavy daily coffee drinker! The banh mi's are certainly loaded and taste fresh, but they're less traditional than something you'll find on Federal and the chicken was overly black peppered for my taste.

We've dined inside before, but yesterday we stopped in to pick up pastries and were reminded why this is one of our favorite bakeries in Denver. We grabbed an éclair, a blueberry muffin, and two ham and Swiss croissants. Every single thing was outstanding. The croissants are incredibly flaky and buttery with the perfect ratio of ham and Swiss, the blueberry muffin was moist without being overly sweet, and the éclair disappeared embarrassingly fast. We always have every intention of taking pictures... and then we take one bite and completely forget. That's probably the best compliment we can give. We loved sitting inside, which is intimate, cozy but still roomy. We are looking forward to sitting outside in their patio space. Staff are also exceptional!

The place was modest and quirky, with a random small chandelier adorning this bakery. Families, groups of friends, and cyclists were in the mix of patrons on a Saturday morning. All servers were very friendly, helpful with dish descriptions, and fast! The ham and cheese croissant and a shared cinnamon bun was in the cards. The pastry was flakey, buttery, and very tasty. The sesame, roasted onion and garlic sprinkled on top of the pastry was delightful. The warm cheese and ham inside were also good. The cinnamon bun was a nice mix of croissant and cinnamon bun; also flaky and buttery. I am guessing flakey, soft, and buttery is their signature! One minor thing, that coffee was not good, but the food made up for it. Overall, this was a very nice place that got us interested in all the pastries with that buttery flavor. For sure a recommend for visitors and locals.

Such a home-y vibe!…read more It's inside of a church! I was driving a friend from Centennial to Aurora and this place was perfectly on the way. Literally nothing much else around AT ALL. It was a SINGLE pin on my google map - no pins near it at all! I must have pinned this at some point as "a place to go to sometime when in the area" but I really can't remember pinning it and am not sure why I would pin a coffee shop located in a church! However! This is the second coffee shop that I've seen in Denver while driving by - like located as part of a massive church, so it was interesting to actually be checking it out. It was a weekday and there was a vast parking lot and there were like 4 cars. LOTS of parking! Once inside, I immediately relaxed! Didn't even know I was tense! There was so much to look at and it smelled so good inside. Couldn't quite put my finger on it. Something baked tho. My eyes wandered everywhere over the various retail areas, the furniture - couches to patio furniture, the people behind the counter, the various large chalkboards, menus, etc. Lots to look at. I wound up getting a spicy chai! I never order chai! I must have been under some strange spell from being immersed in the warm comforting baked goods aroma! The spicy chai had KICK! It was so good that I ordered a second one to go! My friend ordered that ham+cheese biscuit which looked amazing, with those cheese legs dripping! Whoa! It was such a nice coffee + conversation vibe. I would totally go again if I am ever in that area again! Oh! The 2 behind the counter were very friendly and knowledgeable about their vast variety of menu and drink items!
