I was very impressed with Danish Care. My friend liked being there which speaks volumes and it didn't stink

Initially I had no idea what to expect. I'm a veteran so there were different agencies I had to deal with. It went very easy. After 10 days in the hospital from a 5 hour spinal surgery, I was transferred to the facility in Atascadero. I was treated well, respectfully and professionally . Everyone from the staff, the CNA's to the janitors were friendly and courteous. Mary was such a sweetheart helping me navigate the paperwork and was there checking on me. I wish I could have remembered more names but Scott was on the spot with my pain meds and even remembered when I forgot to request them and reminded me when the next disbursement was because it can be confusing. The 2 others that went out of their way to make my stay as pleasant as possible was Lauren (I hope I spelled it right) and Jessica. Kimberly in records was so easy to work with. In fact, I asked for a copy of something to be sent to my email and I think it was in my email before I got back to my room. That's unheard of these days. As far as Jessica and Lauren, they had me smiling and comfortable. They were just so attentive, professional and just so kind to me and I saw them treat others the same way. They truly take their job seriously. When It was time for me to go, I didn't get to thank them enough. I'm sorry if I didn't recognize everyone but those I mentioned made my stay very comfortable. I mentioned that I had spinal surgery and I was initially in incredible pain but I had the best care and it was a nice place to recover. I wish I could have thanked them all and remembered all of their names. Bravo. If anyone is apprehensive, please relax and be assured, it's a decent, clean, and safe place to be if you have to be in a skilled nursing facility. read more

My elderly Mother had been there many times over the years,30 day stays to get her strong enough to come home after having a fall at home or after getting very sick due to her lung issues.The staff at Danish Care not only helped my Mom get healthier and stronger,they brought her joy and made her smile. The last few years my Mom's health was getting much worse,severe lung problems plus losing mobility due to neck and back injuries she suffered on the job when she was much younger.She had trouble breathing and was in constant pain but over the years her stays at Danish Care would be about a month each time,she would come home happy and grateful for the care she got from all of the staff. Earlier this December my Mom was transferred to Danish Care from Twin Cities hospital,her lungs were so weak she could barely talk but i got to visit her and see her alive one last time.The staff were doing everything they could for her but days later my Mom died peacefully in her sleep.For privacy reasons i do not want to use names but the night nurse who called me about my Mom's passing is amazing.He is great at his job,very professional and compassionate.He called me right away,i live very close to the care center so i got to go in and say goodbye to my Mom.She had already died but i got to say goodbye and i am thankful for that. To the staff at Danish Care,i am eternally thankful for the care and kindness you provide.On behalf of my Mom and all the people you have helped over the years,i say thank you. read more

The people there are the most caring wonderful people. From management to maintenance I have been met with courtesy and compassion. I have been here four times in the last tw5o years and will not go anywhere else. These people treat me like family. I love all of them. read more

My wife just spent 2 weeks in Danish and I was with her most of every day. We can both testify that without exception every staff we encountered was professional, cheerful, polite, knowledgeable, etc., etc. There was not one staff we had an issue with. Now, I know Danish is owned by Compass as well as Vineyards health care center, but there is absolutely no comparison between the two. I did a review of Vineyards and had to give them one star in order to enter my evaluation. Were it not for that I would have given them a 3-star negative rating. My grandma stayed here while she was recovering from an injury and she was denied a shower on multiple occasions, caught covid from the staff (and wasn't told that she tested positive), and no one helped brush her teeth. The only time she brushed her teeth was during a physical therapy exercise. The staff at Danish Care Center shows extreme incompetence and their work amounts to elder abuse. read more

My grandma stayed here and the workers gave her covid. They didn't tell her she tested positive for covid and wouldn't let us visit her. She said she had no one to talk to for months. They didn't give her a bath or shower or even body wipes the whole stay. She wasn't able to brush her teeth except when her physical therapist came and helped her. This place is an excellent facility. My mother in law is here and they have taken great care of her.

My husband was in this care facility for over 3 years. The staff are compassionate and dedicated. The care he received was over the top and I always knew he was in good hands. They became my second family . I will be forever grateful. read more

Danish Care Center is the utopia of care centers in my opinion. From the moment my Mother and I approached the white fence, waterfall pots, and elegant entrance we knew this was home. We were escorted to my Mom's room and immediately greeted with staff including the administrator who stopped in himself to greet us. The nurse on duty carried a heavy extra chair in for me and asked if I wanted a guest tray for dinner. My answer was, "Yes please." The food is delicious included are fresh fruits and vegetables daily along with the specialty cakes, pies, and cookies. The staff is the kindest, most patient I have seen with great integrity. My Mom has been there 9 months and she tells me, "Never has anyone said an unkind word." The staff is sweet, funny, and full of energy. I love them! Activities are great also! Activity staff gather up the residents to make sure all are included in culinary, bingo, music, exercise, and much more. The physical therapy director is a person of vast integrity. He and his staff are top in their field! My Mom was greeted the Saturday day after we arrived by the kindest most knowledgable physical therapist. He still acknowledges my Mom's accomplishments whenever we see him. The small dining room has tablecloths and cloth napkins as well as warm moist towels before meals. Residents are treated in a 5 star restaurant fashion. Thank you Danish Care Center for all you do for my Mom!!!! read more
