Wow! My friend and I were on our way to Beaufort when we passed Dank Burrito. The place was full of people so we decided the next day we needed to check it out. I'm so glad we did. My friend ordered the jerk chicken burrito. She couldn't tell me enough that it was the best burrito she ever had. I ordered two tacos. I had a tough time deciding which ones to get because they all sounded so good. They lady taking my order told me I could order two different tacos. Yea!I had one mahi taco and one buffalo chicken. Oh my word!! Delicious. They give you your order with wonderfully seasoned tortilla chips that you can take right over to their salsa bar. I chose the jalapeno cucumber salsa. Hot and awesome! The staff was absolutely amazing! They were all helpful, friendly, and made sure we were satisfied. I would be tempted to drive here from Raleigh weekly! Good food but the wait and timing of bringing our food out was less than ideal. Holy crap, this place was awesome. My husband and I have seen the food truck near our place in Emerald Isle several times but always when we were headed somewhere else or we just weren't hungry. We decided to check it out last Saturday and we both really enjoyed it. He got the blackened shrimp burrito and I got the mahi bowl. There's plenty of variety but it's not overwhelming. Portion sizes are good - you probably won't have leftovers but you're going to get full. After grabbing our order and heading back to the truck, I actually went back to put an order in for chips & queso, but they had sold out of chips. I know what I'm getting next time! It was a little more than what we would normally spend on lunch, but we did both get seafood - and the quality was top notch. Definitely worth it. The service and workers were nice. The owner I believe gave me free nachos with my order. The free self service where they had different salsa were nice. Hoping that the tacos my husband and i got were good we were both excited to try it out. Saw the Yelp review and thought to myself that this must be great. I had Jerk chicken taco and Mahi Mahi taco. The Jerk chicken taco had a too any flavors that weren't great as a combo. The Mahi Mahi has fried chicken and it tasted odd. Flavor and food wise, sadly they need to work on it. Due only to my love of Circa 81, I have given this place three shots. It's just not working for me. I'm a fan of Chipotle and Moe's, so fine with the setup, DB just doesn't hit the mark. The third strike was after eating a burrito and letting the counter staff know in my way out that there was a lot of uncooked rice in dinner. Truly a unique, tasty, creative, and fun approach to casual Mexican food. As a California native, I have frequented many many many Mexican food spots and this joint was indeed a memorable dining experience. I appreciate the bold combinations of classically Asian flavors and ingredients and fusing them into a Mexican dish. I had a burrito bowl with grilled Mahi, banh mi pickled veggies, Thai chili sauce, on a bed of black beans...surprisingly tasty. I also had the Cajun fried Mahi bowl with chipotle aioli which was outstanding. Their salsa bar is wonderful and they have a vast array of hot sauces for those wanting a true butt burn! I had the pleasure of stopping by the seafood festival and came across there food truck. They had a smaller menu so I decided to try the jerk chicken soft tacos. The price was 8 dollars for 2 medium sized tacos the price was a little steep for two tacos. The taco was delicious the jerk marinade and seasoning gets complimented well with the sweet mango salsa. I like there theme and design of the truck its really a tease for stoners. I will have to definitely go back to there restaurant to try there other items. There sauces are really good but I would suggest to try the taco without it first so you can taste what they are trying to combine as a taco. My husband and I really wanted to check out Dank Burrito after seeing the reviews on Yelp. We really enjoy authentic tacos packed with flavor and Dank Burrito seemed like it may be up our alley. We tried the Jerk Chicken bowl and burrito. The Jerk Chicken was tasty with a good amount of spice. It wasn't overly spicy but if you aren't into a little spice, you may want to stick to their plain Jane options. We enjoyed the guac and pico. The overall aesthetic of the restaurant was cool. This has been the best burrito shack I have ever been to. Two of us got the carne asada burrito. The meat had a good flavor with some spice to it. Another of us got the Cajun fresh catch burrito which was shrimp. He downed it before o could even think about taking a picture of it. Where do I even begin? I remember when Dank Burrito started out as a food truck! There aren't many around this area, actually no more that I know of besides a coffee truck. Any who, once I tried the carne asada Burrito I was hooked! I literally became a Dank stalker! I would drive 30+ minutes just to satisfy my craving! They've since opened a restaurant in Morehead City and will soon open one in Beaufort! Now I can have all the burritos I want whenever I want oh and they also have AMAZING mac and cheese! I too was dying to try this place, but live about 30 min. away. So, next time we were in Morehead City, we gladly stopped by. The food was very good, but not great, and it was far more expensive than anticipated. We had three entrees, two tree huggers and blackened chicken, (taco, burrito, and bowl), plus a soda and a beer. We had a coupon for one taco. The total was $27. Kinda shocking. There's a chalkboard menu, but it didn't list prices. Loved the salsa bar, but not enough chips came with our meals. We probably could have asked for more, but didn't. The chips are very good. Service was very good, but note you order at the counter, get your own soda, and sit down at a table with the # given to you at the counter. Someone brings you your meals. Someone else checked on us a few minutes later. It's not fine dining. It looks like an old...Taco Bell type place, redone. We knew this, but still found it far more causal than anticipated. My spouse and I are in our very early 50's. We were the oldest people there by far. It's a hip place, I guess. This wouldn't stop us from going again, but it was different. It was also very busy at 3 pm on a Saturday. I just didn't see the value for the cost. We could have spent about the same at any of the great restaurants in the area, and received sit down service and just as good, probably better food. We'd have to be in the mood for thus type of food to go back, or with much younger people. We do applaud their achievements. read more

Best burritos in the area!! They make everything fresh at the store, and their flavor combinations are awesome and tasty. The staff is always great, fun, and helpful. Dank is excellent without taking itself too seriously, the signs in the place are funny while being functional. They also have a cool sticker wall, with stickers from all over. I must say, as someone who has visited their food truck a few times at festivals I was seriously disappointed with the brick and mortar location. If you're going to have a name like "Dank Burrito" then you'd better have some burritos that live up to the hype and these most certainly did not. Normally, I've ordered things like Fried Seafood Tacos which they excel at, but that doesn't seem to be what they serve in the restaurant. It doesn't quite seem to me that they understand the nuances between Tacos and Burritos. In their tacos they seem to understand flavors and textural contrasts and can produce crisp, clean flavors. Their burritos just seem to be gloppy messes in need of editing. Very underwhelming, maybe I'll hit up their food truck again but I won't be back to the restaurant. read more
