I walked in there the first time not knowing how to order...the menu was written on a large black board in a lot of pretty colors and I just stared at it for a while and didn't even really read anything. But I saw Cajun fried mahi and just ordered that in a bowl and it was absolutely amazing. The cashier asked if we wanted a side of guac, I said sure, glad I did.. it was gooood. The Morehead City location brought us the catch of the day burrito which was Mahi Mahi and a prime rib steak and cheese burrito. They came with chips and salsa and we added queso to the order. After hearing a lot of good things about Dank Burrito I went there with my son, his wife, and daughter. We all enjoyed our lunch. The restaurant is a fast food taco and burrito place in what appeared to have previously been a Hardee's or something similar. I had the Asian pulled pork taco, which was delicious, and the cheesestake burrito, which was good, but not as good as the Asian pulled pork. The other options all sound good, and worth trying. I would return to Dank Burrito without any question, but if I want good Mexican food I'd probably go to La Cieva in Atlantic Beach. read more

All I can say is WOW! First of all, this is such a cool concept for a chain. Not only do they have burritos, but creme brulee too?! I was in heaven. I got the Mahi Mahi Tacos and my boyfriend got the Jerk Chicken Burrito. We couldn't eat it fast enough! Their guac is great as well. Creme brulee was on point! This might not matter to some, but I think packaging plays a huge role when I get food from restaurants. The bags that the chips were in had the logo on them and looked super cool. Be prepared for long lines at lunch but the line moves quickly. There is a good chance that you will have to wash off a dirty table to have somewhere to sit. The food is pretty good; think Chipotle with seafood options. Most prices are under $10. Morehead City is, as I have said in other reviews about restaurants in the area, not the most adventurous town when it comes to food; it is dominated by chain restaurants and places that are more concerned with saving a buck by using frozen ingredients or food from a can. I can honestly say that I never expected to see a food truck here, much less have the food truck survive more than a few weeks before the novelty of if wore off and the majority of locals returned to the fast food and established local joints that they were accustomed to. But the Dank Burrito truck has proven me wrong and I am more that happy to admit that. The food here is fantastic, the burritos constantly rotate so you could potentially have a new one ever time you visit. All the meat (mahi mahi, carne asade, jerk chicken, shrimp) is expertly cooked and season and their inventive slaws incorporate ingredients that you may not even be familiar with (kimchi being a prime example). The truck is impossible to miss with its bright color scheme so being on the lookout the next time you drive through town for the urban inspired designed truck and its long line of hungry and excited customers. The food is great, the menu is inspired and the service is friendly and quick. I have not had a bad meal from any food truck I've eaten at yet and Dank Burrito continues that streak! I first heard of Dank Burrito last Christmas from my mother in law. I thought it an odd name for a food truck - and was honestly surprised there is a food truck in Carteret County - but liked their page on Facebook and filed it in the back of my mind as a thing to try sometime. That "sometime" was this past Wednesday. I noticed the truck in the K-Mart parking lot and, on impulse, pulled up to it. As I walked up to order, I was caught with some indecisiveness - did I want to try the Citrus Fish or the Prime Rib Cheesesteak? Did they have the Nutella Crepes I had seen mentioned on Facebook, or some other special? Again on impulse, I ordered the Prime Rib Cheesesteak as a burrito after considering a pair of tacos or a bowl. Burrito was the only way to go for the first time at Dank Burrito. They prepared it pretty quickly and off I went with a pretty sizable burrito. That first bite...my dashcam can confirm I said, "Oh my God." It was unlike any burrito I had ever had. Any burrito prior to this one was a pale imitation compared to the deliciousness of that first bite. Cheese melded with steak, garlic, and mushroom to form nirvana in my mouth. As I continued to consume this bounty of delectableness peppers and rice were added to the melody. It was also wrapped exceptionally; rather than ending up with a lapful of disappointment or a soggy mess in a wrapper it held itself together quite well down to the last bite. I highly recommend Dank Burrito and will be returning this week with my husband. Hopefully next time I will remember to order dessert as well! read more

Awesome little spot on the main drag to Atlantic Beach. We got the cheesesteak burrito (huge and worth every penny), two tacos with jerk chicken and pork belly (both yum yum yum) and a kid's cheese quesadilla. Very similar concept to Kokyu for those from the Triangle area. Bring some quarters for the old school arcade tabletop! Only thing I'd change is having the option for a single taco add on. My kid would have really liked some of the "adult" taco options but no way she could eat two tacos without popping lol read more

My husband and I finally were able to check it out for lunch and we both were so glad that we did. My husband told me he's never seen someone so excited to try out a food truck but after eating his burrito, we both agree all the hype was right. I had the jerk chicken and he tried today's special ... Prime rib. It was basically a cheesesteak rolled up into a burrito. Both were amazing and we are already talking about what we want to try next. However, if you see the prime rib as the special...definitely give it a whirl!!! stopped on for lunch today and was instantly impressed when I bit into my burrito. as an avid burrito eater, one of my qualms is that places don't evenly distribute the ingredients and you wind up with a hefty bite of just beans or rice....my super dank cajun fried mahi burrito had a perfect distribution of ingredients, allowing every single bite to be filled with flavors of the good stuff! Had lunch today. From a Carolina boy who eats tacos 3 to 4x per week, had to try it. I had the pork belly tacos and wife had teriyaki shrimp salad. Tacos were tasty. Next time I'll try the asada. The bar with different dips from salsa verde to cucumber jalapeno to spicy pico was great option. Drove back to the island and found out the food truck was right here!
