This one man, one truck operation serves up Southern fried goodness and deli classics with a heaping helping of charm. Reubens sit next to fried pork chop sandwiches on the menu of this bright red truck and both are quality lunches for sure. I got the fried pork chop sandwich and after a bit of a wait I was presented with a golden fried, thinly cut piece of pork on top of an artisan roll served with lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle and a huge pile of fries ( I had asked for onion rings but he discovered he was out of them and promised to have them the next time I came). The sandwich was fantastic; crunchy with good flavor. My one comment is that an aoili or other sauce would have made it perfect. Fries were good too. I also tried some of my friends Reuben and it was juicy and full of the corned beef and sauerkraut goodness that all Reubens must have. Southern Thyme Grill is a great addition to the growing fleet of food trucks on the NC coast and one that I will be visiting again. Finding the truck is a bit of a challenge since the schedule is not currently on there website, but their Facebook page is fairly regularly updated, but when you do find it, you will be glad that you did!

We were looking for something quick, but the menu looked so good that we couldn't wait to try it. Thankfully, it lived up to the hype! The gentleman at the register was incredibly kind and patient as we asked questions and figured out what everyone wanted. Our group ordered a variety of items, including mahi tacos, burritos, fries, queso, chips, guacamole, and pico. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The fries were honestly some of the best I've ever had, and the chips were perfectly seasoned. For dessert, I purchased a platter of their homemade Rice Krispie treats, and they were the perfect sweet ending to a fantastic meal. The restaurant was very clean, and I loved the flexibility of the menu. Being able to turn almost anything into a burrito, bowl, or taco made it easy for everyone in our group to find something they loved. Great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. There was a line, but it moved quickly. We got the 3 dozens for $12 deal - cinnamon sugar, chocolate drizzle and blueberry drizzle with sprinkles (they are FREE and adds that extra touch for the kids!). My husband and oldest love the chocolate drizzle most and my middle child ate basically all of the cinnamon sugar mini donuts, which were also my fave. The blueberry drizzle was also amazing, and my little 1 year old licked off most, if not all, of the sprinkles. Definitely trying the strawberry drizzle, powdered and iced coffees next time! There are so many different toppings and flavors to choose from! We also got 2 lemonades and my kids thoroughly enjoyed them. We can't wait to enjoy these treats again whenever Two Crazy Donuts is back in Jacksonville.

It was confusing at first, because this lady was standing still, facing the front of the window where you order. I thought she was in the middle of ordering food so I waited behind her. It took a few minutes to realize this lady was actually working with the food truck and taking the food orders. She also was not very friendly when I asked her a question about the food. Anyway, back to the positive notes, the food! The menu was limited to tacos, fries and drinks (soda, sparkling water). I tried the fries and fried catfish tacos (2 tacos), which came with a crema sauce, coleslaw, lightly seasoned tortilla chips. There was a bottle of salsa, assuming homemade. The salsa was delicious. The catfish tasted so fresh, was tender, and was lightly fried. The thinly cut fries were great, reminded me of McDonald's fries. Everyone was at the Salty Turtle, ordering beer and drooling over the menu from afar as Peter went to close up the truck. I walked over and chatted with Peter; he could not have been more kind to us. He opened the window back up and took 17 orders. They cooked us some fantastic food, and then Peter came over as we were eating to make sure we were all enjoying it. Thank you, Peter! Food-wise, the favorites from our group were the gyro which was just perfect; the chicken souvlaki and the spanakopita were all amazing. And the baklava - remember the baklava!
