If I could give this place one star, I definitely would. We got to New Orleans late so our food options due to COVID 19 were limited. My boyfriend ordered the shrimp plate and I got the catfish plate. The food was disgusting! The catfish, shrimp, and fries were drenched in old cooking oil. There was zero flavor other than the flavor of 3 day old cooking oil. I didn't eat mine so I went to sleep hungry, a complete waste of almost $16 a plate!!!! read more

Danny & Clyde's is a great late night spot. The food is good, but don't try to order for pickup. This is essentially a gas station with a kitchen, so you're not calling in a phone order. My coworkers and myself have ordered here on more than one occasion. Each and every time, we say we won't do it again in regards to the quality of the food being served. Granted, we waited a few weeks before giving it another shot. EPIC FAIL. We Ordered 2 Shrimp on Bun Combos and a Roast Beef(Thank God for the Gravy, they forgot to dress it). This was my second visit to Danny and Clydes and it's a must go to for my husband whenever we visit New Orleans. This time was no different from the other time that we went. Although I was initially weirded out by the fact that the food is sold and made it a convenience store, the aroma of the food tickled my nostrils and had my taste buds jump it in anticipation. After ordering our food on the computer screens located in front of the counter we waited approximately 10 to 15 minutes for our orders of po'boys I got a shrimp Po boy and my husband at the catfish Po boy. Both the sandwiches were huge and definitely worth the seven dollars apiece we paid for them. The catfish was fried perfectly was flaky and very flavorful. I'm not much of a shrimp fan however I made sure I ate every single piece there was to eat it was actually disappointed when there were none left. read more

This is one location of several of Danny & Clyde's chains that are both gas stations and NOLA food stores offering po boys, muffalettas, hamburgers, and other assorted fare. The po boys are certainly not the best and the seafood is usually much better than the roast beef. They also offer wheat po boy bread and offer some optional muffeletta choices like turkey and seafood. They have some changing daily specials so you can get a very cheap po boy and it will be difficult to find a seafood po boy as cheap as one of their specials. The other great draw of this place is that it is open 24/7. They have a nice little self-service computer terminal with a touch screen where you get to put your order in so that any mistakes can be avoided. This really isn't an enjoyable atmosphere to sit and eat but they do have some tables available. read more

Danny and Clyde's is a Gas station/ Deli. After Katrina, they were one of the only places open for a while. This is how I fell in love with their French fry po-boys, shrimp poboys, and muffalettas. I am not a big fan of the roast beef so I cannot recommend that. It is sliced lunch meat with super dark brown gravy. Very salty. This is not a healthy eating establishment. The food is meant to fill your belly and taste good. It does both of these with gusto. There is little very little pretense and there is no real service to speak of. In reality, this whole process can be completed with no conversation at all. You walk to the deli counter, use a touch screen to order, get your ticket, go to the counter and pay, watch them cook and a few minutes later, your food is ready. There are a few places inside to sit and eat; at lunch time it can get a little crowded. It is usually a little warm inside and there is often food and napkins scattered on the floor. This doesn't diminish the quality of the food and only serves to enhance the experience. It is south Louisiana comfort food made fresh and fast. If you are in a hurry, stop in and grab a bite to eat. I recommend the half- mufaletta with a diet Dr Pepper! read more

I loved my surf n turf poboy ! If you place your order by phone, you have to go straight to the gas station cashier to pay when you get there- which I didn't know. It was my first time going there, so I was waiting for servers on the restaurant side to assist me for a while. My guy enjoyed his shrimp poboy. My surf n turf was delicious. And it is not very sloppy like some roast beef Poboys can be in south Louisiana- which could be a good thing for some people, or a bad thing for others, but I thought it was perfect. Here at Best Buy, we will never order from this place again. Myself and three of my coworkers ordered three po-boys and all three were not properly made. After calling to tell them of the error they told us to bring the food in. I brought the food in and Dana, proceeded to use her fingers to go through the food to show me that it was made correctly. I let her know that it was not properly made and I would like her to remake our sandwiches. She refused to remake them and also said she could not refund me because I used Uber eats. I ordered a hot dog poboy and got an 8 inch piece of French bread w 1 recooked and burned dog w 1 tablespoon of cheese at the end of the bread. My husband and I hate paying over $10 for a poboy so we make the trip out to Danny and Clyde's. These guys do the trick for less and throw in a free water. The computer ordering system is a little annoying, but it's also kinda fun to be able to add gravy etc. to your shrimp poboy if wanted. Though your po boys are a far cry from the best in the world, they are still delicious, and miles above most gas station fare. You walk up to one of two kiosks with touch screens and choose your order...roast beef poboys, thin fried catfish, cheeseburgers, and red beans & rice to name just a few of my favorites....and take the print out slip to the cashier and pay then wait for your number to be called and your hunger to be satiated. It's not cheap, but it's not expensive. It's the price you pay for convenience at your fingertips. Prices keep going up in this place. And lord....it takes them 32 minutes....I timed them, to get an order of small REd Beans. The Red Beans however are REALLY Good....but they raised the price to about 2.00 and it takes a HALF HOUR to get my order. Their sandwiches are WAY overpriced. I can get a po-boy for a dollar or two more with REAL shrimp or real roastbeef at a sit down rest. But hey...they are always busy here so I guess people pay the price.
