Went to Danny Boy's on the off season so their menu was a little small. We had a regular dinner salad with the shrimp appetizer served all together. The salads were big and the shrimp were numerous. The drinks were good and stout. It was all very good. read more

Weeekend of Halloween and was told they had good food. We had a table of 7 the staff was good. One of our group had the been stroganoff looked delicious. I had the rib eye was seasoned perfectly and love the rock salt herbs and spices. Was an extremely busy and staff was helpful and attentive. They made sure our beverage was topped off. Pre-round, post-round, there's Danny Boy. We've enjoyed breakfast sandwiches when we arrive and tasty late lunches after the round. I haven't yet been there late enough for the full dinner experience. And there are drinks. Tacos, burgers sandwiches are all terrific. Last visit I had a giant tower of tater tot's with breakfast meats and fried eggs that I brought to go out on the course. We had dinner here before playing Scarecrow the next day. So disappointing! I had short ribs that were floating in fat with hardly any meat and mashed potatoes that were inedible. Husband had prime rib which was also awful. If you stay here, eat at the buffet in The Barn for $35. Not much better, but prices are. Or just get a burger in Danny boy'. Get the clam chowder! Food and drinks are good and staff is fun. However the Bloody Mary was terrible! They premix it and it had sooooo much horseradish. Clam chowder, steak, duck, cheese curds, and avocado toast were all great! We went a few times durning their opening weekend, they were a little under staffed with servers and the kitchen missed a few menu details on 2-3 of our items which is why I give 4 stars instead of 5. read more

This is our second meal here at Danny Boy and both have been phenomenal. Last night our family, six of us, came in for dinner. To start, the salads were good size, their side salad is almost dinner salad size. Each salad came with its own side of warm bread which was also delicious. We ordered a few bowls of the clam chowder, it was also very high quality, very chunky and full of good stuff. My father in law ordered the fish and chips, was very happy with it. My mother in law and brother in law ordered the burgers, very good burgers, beautiful presentation. My sister in law and I ordered the steaks, excellent demi glaze, steaks were cooked as requested, the veggies and garlic mashed potatoes were delicious. My wife had the dinner clam chowder and salad, excellent choices. We came in the following morning for the breakfast buffet, after staying at the Inn @ Gamble Sands. Even though we were the only people there, the presented an amazing buffet of fresh fruit, eggs, potatoes, sausage and bacon along with biscuits and gravy. The breakfast was memorable and delicious. The drinks were also very good. Last night I had a Manhatten, very well done. This morning we had Bloody Mary's and Mimosas, also very well done. The upshot - we were delighted to be here. We will be back. We highly recommend that you try it out! read more

My friend and I stayed two nights and ate every meal here and it was just great across the board. Breakfasts were hearty and satisfying. For lunch the rib eye tacos appetizer can simply not be beaten. The steak was peppery and smokey and exploded with flavor. Both of us knew we were getting it again on day two. I had dinner salads both nights once with salmon and once with steak and both were excellent. Bourbon cocktail "grain elevator" was a winner. Highly recommend! read more

Service for dinner was great, but the food and bar both were an extreme dissapointment after traveling so far for a weekend getaway at the course. Restaurant could not keep up with the high end expectations of this course. Our Dinner compared to several cheaper chain restaurants but with an upscale price. Breakfast was also served cold and was very bland. Either charge less to match the quality of food or match the food to the quality of the Golf Course. Save alot by eating elsewhere and just come play the spectacular course. read more

Lovely golf course, resort restaurant four miles off the highway. Views are spectacular and the new restaurant and accompanying resort are new. Family of six enjoyed salads, soups, burgers, fish and chips and steaks. Great food, beautiful presentation and large servings. Very easy to divide burgers and their signature salad. Such a nice relaxing place to dine! A friend and I were outside waiting for our husbands to finish a golf tournament. I ordered the fish and chips and she had the french dip. Both were great! The service was great. The only thing to mention is that there were a lot of wasps flying around! I wouldn't recommend sitting on the benches under the pergola. View was beautiful. Very hit or miss with our group of four for dinner Friday night. We started with the crab dip appetizer. It had a strong seafood odor. Had one bite and that was enough. Two of the guys bought mixed drinks- they came in the smallest cocktail glasses, about 3 or 4 sips for $7.50 each. My husband was very happy with his filet mignon dinner. It was cooked exactly to his liking, but was expensive at $45. Our other two friends got different steak dinners, one cooked perfect, the other way over cooked. Since we had waited over an hour for our food he just ate it. He was hungry lol! My French dip was a big disappointment. Tons of meat and cheese, but the meat was dried out and tasted slightly off. As for the steak dinners one guy didn't get a salad, two guys didn't get the bread that we thought the menu said was included. They brought salads and entrees at the same time. As another reviewer mentioned the salads are very big and come on large dinner plates. This left very little room at our table and some of the plates were hanging off the edge. The next morning all three guys had breakfast at the buffet. Everyone agreed it was very good, much better than dinner. We have eaten at this restaurant a few times now. In conclusion I would just say if you want to get something to eat before you golf, make sure you have at least an hour as they are very slow in the kitchen. read more

Food was very good, but have had as good or better elsewhere. What prompts this mediocre review is the service. We were there two weeks ago for my birthday, got our wine in a timely manner but waited over an hour for our starter, followed very soon by the meal so they were literally on top of one another. I called this morning, SEVEN times to see if there was anything available for Mother's Day weekend and the phone rang and rang, no answer. I finally called the Package Reservation desk and was transferred in house and at least got a message line that time, but the call was never returned. We had tried online earlier and got no confirmation so felt I needed to call and confirm or cancel or I would have never called that many times. They evidently aren't doing online reservations any longer but have not removed that feature from their site. I finally called the Package Reservation desk again and she was very helpful; drove over to the restaurant and did everything she could to assist me. It seems they just aren't answering their phone because they are booked up. I understand if there are no reservations available, but at least tell me! You may not need me today, but I am more local and you are probably going to need business when it isn't a holiday and people are not coming in after a golf game. read more

My group of guys (10) went for our annual (sometimes semi-annual) round of golf. We absolute love the course. The restaurant is another matter. After the round we sat down for lunch. It was not busy, yet the service was dreadful. It took over an hour for the food to arrive and when it did the fries with the burgers were cold (burgers were great). Generally, the food is very good bar food. Not sure we will take the time to eat after our next round at one of our favorite courses. read more
