We came for an early early dinner (kids!) so we could walk in and there were open tables but by the time we left, the place was full! As the name of the restaurant says it's a bakery as well. They showcase the different breads in their bread bar. More about that later. Let me warn you... the portions are large! I got the spinach lasagna ($23.50) which came with a salad and the bread bar. When I got the salad I was shocked to see a huge, almost entree sized salad. The lasagna had ricotta, spinach layers smothered in Alfredo sauce. It was delish but I think they can go a lot less on the sauce. It was buttery, almost too buttery as well. But it was dang good! So that bread bar... if you love bread like I do, you'll be in carb heaven. They feature different kinds of bread baked that day- there was the usual French bread but they had flavors like rosemary, garlic, black pepper and the most unusual - curry cranberry. Don't be afraid to try the different flavors. The cranberry curry ended up being my favorite. Behind the bar is where you can find the different kinds of butter and olive oil. If you want balsamic vinegar, you'll need to ask your server. Sadly I gorged on the bread and couldn't eat my meal. My daughter ordered the HALF order of Seafood Louie ($20.80). When it came to the table, we burst out laughing because the thing was full entree sized where we come from. It was chock full of fried calamari, huge grilled prawns, little bay shrimp and an egg. She had a hard time finding a starting place to take the first bite without it spilling over. She really like the thousand island dressing too. My suggestion is to get it on the side to add as you work your way down. Mussels & Clams ($15.50) was also a hit- big and plump and the broth went perfectly with bread. The kids buttered noodles ($5.75) were good but it was kind of swimming in butter. They could've used half the amount. But the noodles were nice and al dente. Service was great and very accommodating- a big shout out to Jesus! FYI, a tip of 18% is automatically added to the bill with option to add. If we're ever back in Omak, we're definitely returning! Actually we did come back the next morning to buy the bread but unfortunately we were there before they opened.

Not a bad place to enjoy sandwiches for lunch. Good service…read moreA bit pricey but fair selection of different sandwiches

As a native of Southern California, I humbly concede that I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to…read moreMexican food. Weather enjoying a Carne Asada burrito at one of the fast food stands that ends in -erto's, enjoying a meal at long, gone places like Acapulco, or bellying up to some swanky new wave fusion place with rainbow colored tortilla chips and "salsa flights," I've tried them all. So when I say that El Torito bar and Grill is a good Mexican food restaurant, that should mean something. Moreover, is someone who has visited 49 of the 50 states by car, with a family of five in tow, we've definitely stopped at our fair share of Mexican food restaurants... Some of them were amazing, and some of them were no Bueno. But this place is an honest to goodness, authentic Mexican food restaurant. Your first clue: the rice and beans. I know, they come with everything... But if you don't know how to make real rice and beans, the rest of it really doesn't matter. This place knows what's up. The burritos, Carne Asada, fajitas, combination plates with things like enchiladas and chile rellenos-- everything here is delicious. Modestly priced, but for the only game in town place, it's a pretty good deal at 20 or 30 bucks a head. Service has always been very good, and the shot of tequila when they bring the bill out is always a nice touch, especially as you're about to include the propina. :) The vibe inside is laid-back, with casual visitors, families, and groups like us... People visiting from out of town who are here to enjoy some local fishing, and the welcoming comfort of local business. Just a few steps from our favorite hotel in town, we will always plan to enjoy at least one evening meal here together when we visit Omak.

I waited a few minutes and then finally walked to the bar and asked if I could order food to go. She said yes went and got her order pad and came back. I told her I would need a menu. I ordered a full Caesar Salad, an order of fish and chips and 2 desserts as I was taking home to share. The salad was the SMALLEST full Caesar Salad I had ever seen. It was not a side salad it was suppose to be an entree salad and it was maybe literally 1 cup of salad. I was asked what kind of dressing and I said ??Caesar?? I assumed because it was to go the dressing would be on the side. And yes there was a sside of dressing but there was no need for it because the salad was already dressed and I'm assuming that it had been done hours before because the lettuce was soggy so no need for the extra dressing. Now for the fish and chips! Burnt is the only way to describe. I'm thinking both the sweet potato fries and the fish went straight from the fryer into the to go box because the fries that were under the burnt fish were swimming in grease. The condiment container inside this box were 2 bites of warm cabbage that I believe was a mild attempt at coleslaw. For dessert we had the lemon curd cake and the carrot cake, they were good but probably because they are not made in house. I did call and voice my disapproval which is something I normally wouldn't do but I felt for the $$$ I spent and the lack of food (especially the salad) I couldn't let this one slide. My phone was pretty much met with a "so what" attitude and I was, in not so blunt words, looking for a free meal!! No, I was actually just looking for a meal and not an appetizer. I was also told they pre-portion all their food. I've never heard of anyplace that pre-portions salad! Maybe salad toppings but not really lettuce. I was told I could bring it back and maybe I would have but it was dark, 32°, the roads were icy and risking my life because they can't get it right was not in my plans. I will never eat here again and will not recommend this to anyone. If your staying at 12 Tribes Casino Hotel in Omak just be aware there are wayyyyy better places to eat in the Omak/Okanogan area that serve size appropriate for an entree, not burnt and swimming in grease and have top notch customer service!!!

The menu has something for everyone and is really good quality food. See photos attached. Very good sweet potato fries! Don't let this being in the casino scare you off. Does it have a faint smoke smell? Yes. But it also has great tables, a nice bar, honestly lovely ambience. There is a stage for when they have live music. Entertainment schedule is on the casino website I believe. Our server was very kind and attentive and we got to know her story during our visit. I really hope this spot gets the love it deserves because I love this for Omak and for the community. I will definitely be back!
