First it started 30 minutes before my appt where I was told Heather got bit by a dog so she would not be able to make it. I was then scheduled with Bianca (the only reason this place is getting 3 stars) who did an amazing job and knows how to keep a positive atmosphere. She took her time which for me is everything because it proves she truly does take her work serious. She did BEAUTIFUL highlights on me, constantly checking on the bleach, and knowing what i wanted during consultation. Danny was rude towards the end at check-out ,as most of my tip went to Bianca of course as she spent over 7 hours on my hair. Danny charged me 330 dollars (not complaining, i knew the price before i walked in the door) for a 5 minute haircut which does not compare to 7 hours, then you wanna be rude because of the $110 tip difference between you and your employee? After hearing how Danny canceled an appointment because of a sudden " family death " which later popped out with instagram posts on vacation, he is the type to steal the tip. As I was leaving I told him " Bye, have a good night." this man looked me dead in the eye as I walked out. I am not upset nor mad, just glad that I know I will never step foot in this salon again. 2 other male hairdressers made sneaky comments about my sister thinking I couldnt hear them. I mean honestly their work is beautiful, they have hands full of skills... but the attitudes, side comments, going nonverbal, its not for me. Customer service is everything to me. Review of Danny Jaleca Salon - A Complete Disaster I did extensive research before choosing Danny Jaleca Salon. Time and time again, it came up as a top-rated salon, so I decided to finally spend the money in hopes of getting quality service. I've been to multiple salons in Miami and have yet to find one that delivers, but based on everything I read, I was hopeful this would be different. I had been texting with Heather before my appointment, explaining that I had bad experiences in the past. I even sent her pictures of my own hair--both before and after other salons had messed it up--so she could see exactly what I wanted and what I didn't want. Every single photo I sent was of me, not some random inspiration picture from the internet. Heather assured me that she was a master balayage specialist and could easily give me the look I wanted. She quoted me a price, and I scheduled my appointment with confidence. From the start, things were off. My appointment was at 1:30 PM, yet at 1:35 PM, Heather was standing right in front of me, taking endless pictures of her previous client's bleach-blonde hair instead of acknowledging me. She didn't greet me, didn't apologize for running late--nothing. It was so bad that the owner had to remind her that I was her client and that I was ready. That should have been my first red flag. Once we finally got started, Heather told me my hair was so dark on top that there was "nothing she could do." She didn't suggest lightening it, blending it, or adjusting the technique--just that we would "keep coloring it." What I ended up with was a completely black top with no blend whatsoever. She dragged the color down too far, making everything even darker than before. I asked for a balayage/ombre look, where the top would be slightly darker and the bottom would have lighter, fun pieces. Instead, I now have a harsh, unnatural black top with zero highlights--it's the exact opposite of what I asked for. Even worse, Heather never checked on me while the color was processing. At one point, I overheard people in the back talking about baklava, and sure enough, she was back there eating instead of making sure my color was turning out right. I actually had to ask the receptionist to go remind her that the timer had gone off! Not only did she fail to check the single-process color, but she also never once checked the bleach for the highlights. After washing my hair and attempting to blow-dry it, I noticed right away that my hair was all-over black. I told her I was uncomfortable with the result, and she casually said she could wash it again and use a different toner. At this point, I had zero trust in her skills and didn't want her touching my hair again. When I pointed out that there were no highlights and that my hair was even darker than before, she insisted that it looked like what I wanted. I showed her the pictures again and said, "I don't know what you see, but there are no highlights. My hair is darker. This is not what I asked for." To make matters worse, Heather later messaged me saying I seemed unsure of what I wanted. That is absolutely false. I was extremely clear, provided multiple pictures, and was explicit about what I did and did not want. She claimed she could deliver exactly what I asked for, but she did the opposite. When it came time to pay, I told her I was not happy and didn't think I should have to pay for something so poorly done. However, I didn't want to cause a scene, so I paid--but I did not tip. On top of this horrible experience, I had to pay nearly $40 in parking fees because of how long I was there, only to walk out with a disaster on my head. The Aftermath - Silence, Avoidance, and Zero Accountability I immediately tried to contact the owner, Danny, for a refund. I called multiple times and was told that he was on vacation in Las Vegas but would get back to me afterward. He never did. Heather also assured me she would make sure he reached out to me, yet she has now completely stopped responding as well. To make things even worse, the salon is blatantly avoiding my calls. I have called four different times during business hours, and every time, the call goes straight to voicemail. They clearly have caller ID and are deliberately ignoring me instead of addressing the issue. Final Thoughts - Demand for a Refund At this point, I demand a refund. I now have to spend even more money on a color correction to fix this disaster, which is completely unfair. As a teacher, I can't afford to waste money on something that didn't just miss the mark--it ruined my hair. If Heather or Danny actually care about their customers, they need to do the right thing and refund me for this botched job. If I don't receive a refund, I will continue to share my experience everywhere I can--with everyone I know and across every platform--because people deserve to know what kind of service they're actually getting at this salon. I already left a review on my amazing experience at the salon itself, but this review is about the hair care product line that Danny Jelaca created, ORGANIC CEUTICAL. I am VERY picky with the products that I use for my hair. I don't like products with a lot of scents, leave my hair feeling like I even have any product in my hair, as well as a line that needs me to use 5+ products each time. I do not have the time nor patience for that! I am so used to purchasing "salon created product lines" that always cost a fortune and never live up to the hype. Danny suggested 4 products, a shampoo, conditioner, a treatment mask, and a leave-in conditioner/heat protectant because I flat iron A LOT! The first time I washed my hair after it was originally done, OMG my hair felt AMAZING!!! No offensive scents, and my hair literally feels like silk. It feels like I have zero product in my hair and made it look incredible. Bottom line, if he or any stylist there recommends his products, BUY THEM!!! When visiting a salon, you are entrusting your hair--a symbol of personal confidence--with your stylist. I trusted that Mayra was knowledgeable enough to understand color, recognize the original color and state of my hair and know how to make my hair look exactly like the photos that I showed her at the beginning of our appointment. My trust was broken not once but twice, leaving me in tears both times I left the salon. The highlights were different shades of orange and completely unblended throughout the layers. Not to mention, the guy who gave me my $80 blowout failed to understand that I have naturally curly hair and tried to blowdry it straight with his fingers, leaving it a frizzy mess by the time I reached my car in the lot from the salon door. The second visit which was supposed to be to fix the disaster made of my hair color, I could tell something was wrong when I was bent backwards over the sink for 50 minutes as Mayra ran back & forth mixing toner after toner & rubbing it thru my head. She dried a few face framing pieces and this time I had ends a lovely shade of sky blue alternating with copper lowlights! I couldn't hold back my tears & walked out. Never in my life have I felt so disappointed and straight up embarrassed for people to see my hair as I did both times I left Danny Jeleca Salon. 8 hours of my life + $420 wasted, not to mention the additional time and money it will take to fix this. I don't know that you are going to find another stylist that is this earnest in trying to find out what you are looking for while at the same time saving you from yourself when that is what is called for (which she's had to do with me more than once). The new salon is right out of a movie. Bright and white - it is Peak Miami. The whole staff is sharp yet still endearing. At first glance the location might scare some not wanting to deal with the South Beach hassles but the salon is actually just 30 seconds away from the MacArthur causeway bridge. I came into this experience very hopeful, but it was terrible from start to finish. I had appointments for a color and eyebrow wax. As an aside, I had a haircut appt scheduled first with Danny and he cancelled. Before I arrived, the receptionist called to let me know that the woman who would be waxing my brows closed her book and wouldn't be able to come in. Right before I was about to leave, the receptionist called again and said she was coming in for me. Like many, my hair needed a Covid overhaul. I had about an inch of root and asked for my color to be restored to my natural color. My hair is now black... not even close to my natural brown. My blowout by a junior stylist was fine. It fell flat as soon as I walked outside, but at least he was nice unlike some of the other staff. When I went to check out, my check seemed much higher than expected. When I inquired, I was told that the colorist gave me another service than what I scheduled. No problem if that's what is best, but it was about $100 difference and not even a mention to me. Long story short, my eyebrows had many hairs not removed, trim job cut too much on left brow, and right brow waxed too much in the middle, my hair is now black (not my natural brown), my white dress was destroyed by whomever washed my hair because they got water down my back the entire time. The best part is - they video you and their work numerous times and don't ask for your consent. I knew something was up when the colorist was speaking another language to the receptionist and she started moving around me with her iPhone. Not cool. Find another salon. I am now updating/adding to this review to let everyone know about the lack of professionalism. I made it known that I did not want to be filmed/photographed and employees at the salon continue to post videos and pictures of me without my consent. The images are inaccurate as they make my hair appear much lighter. Anyone can use a filter and lighting to alter pictures today. The owner reached out two me twice by phone and twice by text, likely because they would like my negative review removed. I told him that I couldn't speak because I was on a work call and he reached out three additional times in the same day. Attached are photos... Instagram vs Reality The best part is... Danny called me and told me he had a death in the family and was "up north", which is why he wasn't in the salon last week. Amazingly, he posted pictures and videos from Aspen all week and then made the recent post below confirming that he was in fact in Aspen and not at a funeral. It takes a special type of person to make up lies about a death. FYI - If you need a great colorist to clean up the mess of Danny Jelaca's Salon, Erica Quince is your girl! The experince that I received was horrible due to the fault of the receptionist. I booked a service that was supposed to cost $ 200, in the end they told me to pay $ 280, assuring me that I misunderstood something on the phone. The receptionist and the owner were rude to me even I asked them to check the cameras and listen what exactly receptionist told me by phone. At the end I paid $200 as it supposed to be. Awful. I've had to wait over an hour on multiple visits. Most of the staff quit after the owner Danny received a complaint from his#1 client Ivana Trump who was appalled that the staff was using the restrooms in the salon. The next day he put up a notice informing the staff that they had to use the marina restrooms a 1/2 mile away! I went to Aldo (terrific hairdresser!) all last winter but he and many others left after Ivana's tantrum. Danny never once said hello to me and I was there once a week- I live right next door. This place is amazing! The price & time is worth what you get for service. I'm a new mom & had to bring my 4 month old with me... literally just moved to Miami & haven't found a nanny so he had to come with me. My hair had not been touched up in over a year PLUS postpartum dryness & hair loss is real ladies. As a new mom I needed to get my hair done for my sanity & confidence. I had Dari as my stylist & he was amazing! I was at the salon for 6 hours... with a baby. I was so nervous to bring him & super stressed, but everyone there was so nice & helpful with him + so supportive. Some of the workers & hair stylist offered to hold him (when he got fussy after nursing) while I got my hair done. I brought a bouncer for him to hangout in & he just stared at all the people! So cute. Dari took time with my appointment & did not rush. He also worked around me holding my baby in my lap! I have never left a hair appointment so happy with the results. Whatever he put in my hair didn't make it dry & the blonde is so natural looking (which I asked for). The price came out to around $600. I know that seems like a lot, but 1. I hadn't had my hair done in over a year, 2. My hair was super dry & now my hair is super smooth & soft, 3. It came out to exactly what I wanted. I will 100% be going back. The photos I posted were taken the following morning with bed head! I wish I could post a Before photo, but I was so insecure and HATED my hair (I wore it up all the time & cried about how horrible is was) so I never took photos of myself. Now I love my hair! Nice haircut with Danny, though wildly expensive. That would have been okay. But the three times I went there he was over 2 hours late each time. For the first two I arrived as scheduled only to be told to come back in 2 hours, citing a "surprise inspection" for the delay. This last time I got a very nice phone call from the receptionist about an hour before the appointment letting me know in advance Danny would be a half hour late. That would have been fine. But when I arrived at the time I was given I was told he would not be available for 3 more hours. And guess what? Same reason. Sandra introduced me to Mayra who did my color. She was so sweet and really listened to what I wanted. She worked quickly and got my hair to the exact dark blonde i wanted! I loved that she didn't tell me you need this or you need that. She listened to me and asked questions.. which means a lot to me! Once my color was finished I saw Davian. He cut my hair and I was so scared of losing my length but he took off only what was damaged and you can't even tell it's shorter! My hair has a much better shape and looks healthier. He had my hair straight and asked if he could do a beach wave! I love it!!!
