No one at all who works here speaks English so that should be noted if you have zero Spanish vocabulary. I was initially quoted $50 and was charged $85. Let me start my saying that I found this place with Groupon. I have been suffering from frizzy hair and was on the lookout for a Botox or keratin hair treatment. This one looked the most promising ! I booked a few weeks before hand because a Botox treatment takes a couple hours. I LOVE My hair now ! :) They did the Botox treatment soo nicely and I even got a haircut. The service was on point and the owner Monica was so friendly ! Lovely woman. You can tell she cares about her salon and customers. Dores did my treatment And haircut. I highly recommend this hidden gem on 8th street! They do 30 $ any length blow dry also Monday- Wednesday. That definitely is a good deal. 5/5 Doris 1/5 whoever did my hair last time even though I specifically asked for Doris. My first time here, Doris did a wonderful job. She took her time, was attentive, and gentle as I have thin hair and made sure it was the way I like. My second time here, I called to make an appointment specifically asking for Doris to do my hair. When I walked it she was doing color for two girls there and she had me do my hair with some other stylist (pretty with long black hair). She was nice and got the style right but wooooww she was so rough that I got neck pain from her pulling my hair and not to mention she broke all the hair on the top of my head. She also styled it to the other side so I couldn't see the breakage till after I left the salon at home. I ended up going to Sephora the very next day in tears to buy the olaplex line to fix it. Also, the other thing I noticed is that no one uses heat protectants!!!! Like whattt you all are stylists you should know to put something in hair before applying harsh heat. Next time I come I will not allow anyone to do my hair except Doris. And will not go for any substitutions in stylists ever again. The experience at the salon itself was great. I don't know much about hair and styling but saw some post on Instagram and I asked for beach waves. The stylist took their time and the hair looked cute in the salon. But two hours later it literally looked I never got a blow out at all. I've gotten blowouts before that have lasted three days so I'm pretty bummed that this lasted two hours. Previous times, stylists have used hair spray after each curl. This didn't happen today, just a spray at the end. I'm assuming this is one of the reasons why the curls disappeared so quickly. read more

I found this place on a whim and I'm so happy I did. I had the Botox hair treatment with Mariangela. She was super attentive and sweet. She explained the process step by step and what to expect after the treatment. It took over 2 hours but the end result was amazing. I would definitely recommend not having this treatment on a day you have plans since you can't wash your hair for a couple of days. That was the tough part but after the first wash at home, my hair felt soft and healthy and no frizz! The only negative to this salon was the parking which was in the back of the strip mall. This place is dishonest and I won't be going back. I had been going the past few weeks every Wednesday or Tuesday since they advertise all over to have $30 blow dry any length. I went today Wednesday and was charged $35 suddenly when their ads say $30 and I went just last week. I contacted them after and they said the price went up. They could have had a regular customer but I don't like to feel cheated or tricked so I won't be going back. I booked a blow dry, they warned me bookings sometimes have to wait 15 minute which is fine. I arrived they had me wait at least 10 minutes then sat me to wash my hair and a lady complained about something (it felt like she came with someone and they promised to fit her in) so they left me in the chair for another 20 minutes. Then washed my hair and I had to wait another 10 minutes for someone to finish another customer. All in all I arrived 5 minutes before my 12 pm appointment. They didn't start blowdrying me until 12:45pm. Needless to say I was beyond late to my event. It's a shame because I blow dry my hair regularly at blo bar in Merrick but this was a little closer to me and blo was booked that day. This is a little gem right on 8th street! I went in to get my hair colored specifically with Stephanie, who btw is AMAZING, so I didn't know much about this little place except that she worked there. Upon my arrival we spoke about the look I was going for plus showed her pictures and she explained exactly how she was going to get me there. She's very knowledgeable and passionate at what she does so I felt very comfortable. Stephanie did an awesome job at achieving the exact look I wanted. The color came out subtle and light exactly how I wanted it, very natural looking. After the color process was done, one of the other girls came over to blow dry my hair. Wish I would have gotten her name (she's young, Dominican, and has dark short hair) because she was extremely nice and welcoming. First things first she asked me how I wanted my blow dry to come out. Which was nice because usually when people blow dry my hair they assume I want it a certain way, and unfortunately when it comes to hair there's no "one size/type fits all". I'm not sure if she was the owner but she seemed Columbian if I'm not mistaken, any ways not the point; she was very judgmental and rude you could tell just by how she looked at you. Also, I went to pay and they were just standing there gossiping. The lady that did my hair Leidy was very sweet and nice, but I have never had a wash, blow dry, and beach waves done in the span of 30 minutes and they definitely made that happened; sadly. This review is long but please read. I'm so disappointed, I've been coming to this salon regularly for about a year and a half. I've done my hair with Leidy, Monica, and another lady with blonde hair that I don't remember her name. They are amazing ALWAYS offer you champagne, coffee or water! Recently I went to get layers and curtain bangs I called to make an appointment and asked for Leidy they told me she is not in but will accommodate me with another lady so I agreed. Dorys was my stylist I showed up she claimed my haircut was not written down for my appt that it was just a blow dry which I explained over the phone what I needed to get done since they always ask you what service you are looking for. so I know that was false. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and I explained it to her she agreed. she rushed through my service since she had her next appt there and told me she will get started on the other client and then come finish me off. She did not offer me anything to drink (the least of my worries) My haircut has zero layers not one single layer it seemed like she only trimmed my ends very unevenly. My "curtain bangs" was two small strands that was cut straight. I called and spoke to Dorys herself to let them know my disappointment and that I would like Leidy to fix it she said Leidy doesn't work there anymore that she can provide me with her new work info. It's a shame that she didn't apologize or try to refund me or anything. Definitely lost a loyal customer. I recommend the other stylist but not Dory. Sorry not sorry. read more

Edwin was amazing! He did my hair and make up perfectly. I typically wear very minimal make up and he was able to find the perfect balance between natural and glam for me. I showed him my dress and then gave him free reign on both hair and make up and it paid off. I went to an outdoor wedding so by the end of the ceremony, the humidity had done a number on my hair. Edwin thought ahead and styled my hair so it still looked perfectly styled despite many of the curls falling out. My curls ALWAYS fall out so it was so awesome to have a great looking second hair style to fall back on. I definitely recommend his services. read more
