Danny's Seafood is such a terrific addition added to my hometown of Palacios, Tx. They serve fresh seafood with a fantastic view of the marina. Dinning there feels like you're at a family member's backyard enjoying your meal together. They also have an authentic Vietnamese cuisine that is absolutely delicious. Their appetizers, egg rolls, shrimp wraps and calamari is made to crunchy perfection. They will make seasonal pho which is warm and comforting during winter. My favorite seafood there is crawfish, when it's in season, and oysters; I like them either fried or raw on the half shell. Each dish is made with so much love and served with a smile. The owners always make their rounds to greet their guests and ask how their meal was and if there is anything they can improve on. It's a rare practice but much appreciated to small town patrons. I'll start off with tonight wasn't their best night. Typically this restaurant is a banger but our shrimp and fish were overcooked tonight. Overall the flavor was there and the food was very fresh. The servers were nice and everything came out promptly even with a bunch of families dining. We usually come here for the views and since the weather is nice this week we sat on the patio. Danny's Seafood House is located near the water. They have indoor and outdoor seating. This was our first time eating here and we had a really great experience. The service and hospitality was superb. The staff was super friendly and the food came out pretty fast. We had ordered multiple butterfly shrimp plates, a cheese burger, and a trio plate. Everything came out hot and delicious. I really loved the fried shrimp and enjoyed the special dipping sauce and fries. The fried oysters were good too but I did not like the fried fish. All fried items were super crispy and crunchy. The fried fish fillet was too thin so when it was battered and fried, it dried out the fish and it was very tough to eat. The texture was like a crispy fish jerky. The corn and fries that came with the plate were good. Overall, we will definitely come back to visit and recommend this place! :) read more

This restaurant is located on the water and has a great outside patio to sit at and enjoy the view! Plus there are fans so it's not too hot even on a summer night. The service was fine, I was a little surprised when the hostess handed us our own menus and told us to pick where we wanted to sit, but this place is so laid back. The food was good, not the best seafood ever, but fair for the price. Seasoned fries were good Garlic Parmigiana wings are horrible. It's garlic salt (very salty!!) powder and no parmigiana. Service is so-so. Every time we tried get out waitresses attention she acted like she couldn't hear us, hand to literally wave our arms at her. I ordered a dozen oysters (to go lol) which they managed well, and damn, what oysters they were. There's something special about middle-coast seafood; the oysters and shrimp have a distinct sweetness. I ate 8 of the huge oysters and fried the remaining four the next afternoon for a poboy, they were great. (Visitors may be thrown off by the size, but we do everything bigger in tx, blah blah blah. ) I also had 3lbs of VERY good house seasoned crawfish. It was awesome, had a definite Viet-Cajun flair, and I'd recommend to anyone. Not too spicy, but pleasantly so. I have the heads and shells hanging out in the freezer to make stock. The service was excellent, but the food was mediocre at best. My husband ordered the fried catfish and it was way over cooked and hard. I got fish tacos, which had absolutely no flavor. And the tea was old. There were some little kids running in and out and in and out and the owner/manager did nothing. I just picked up the egg roll appetizer and butterfly shrimp plate to go. I'm spoiled living here in Palacios when it comes to shrimp. These are good! There's outside seating on the water. We ate there at 12 on a Saturday and were served right away. We chose to sit outside since the weather was amazing this November afternoon. The oysters were fresh and large. We ordered a butterfly shrimp plate with fries, an oyster poboy (fried medium), and the grilled ginger shrimp plate with fried rice. Flavors were spot on!! Food was served promptly and was piping hot. Also got cold beer for an appetizer . Service was very tentative. If we are in the area again, we will definitely eat here. After being seated we waited an exceptionally long time for wait staff to recognize us. When we finally were asked what we would like to drink or order, she asked for a Dr. Pepper, (sorry ma'am we're out of Dr.Pepper?), He asked for a Coors Light, (sorry sir we are out of Coors Light?) At this point I intervened in disappointment and asked about the chalk board dinner specials specifically the "seafood platter thing" that everyone was interested in and, our young man waiter responded, by now embarrassed, Im sorry sir we are out of the crab cakes that are a part of the platter??? We got up and left, having now invested nearly 30-minutes there and getting nothing, we went to PMR, always reliable! Coors light and Dr. Pepper....Really! This place is just amazing! I don't think I could think of anything bad to say, Bad? that's not in their dictionary lol. The vibe here is the best. They have a live band playing and people are dancing and having a good time. The food was magnificent! Chefs kiss for me, Muah! The workers are super friendly and the owners... They treated us like crap and didn't say anything to us other than to have a seat where we would like. My husband and I were passing through Palacios on a Saturday a few weeks ago and were looking for a restaurant to stop for a late lunch. Being as it is a beach town, we assumed there would be several restaurants with fresh seafood. That town was so dead; we didn't see anyone walking around 'downtown' and saw very few restaurants only one was a seafood restaurant, Danny's. it was on the water with an outside patio but it was a bit too hot for us that day and we opted to sit inside. It wasn't much cooler inside, but we were starving, and as I mentioned, there weren't but a couple of restaurants we saw; two were Mexican but we wanted seafood. Danny's had the worst seafood we've ever had, and it's a real dump. There was no salt and pepper on the table, we had to ask for it. I ordered grilled shrimp and fried rice. They were very small and had very little taste. The fried rice also had very little taste. I had been given a plastic spoon and fork. I asked for a knife and was given a real knife. My husband ordered the seafood plate, which normally is a large dinner. it was very sparse. The crab leg he said tasted spoiled so he didn't eat it. I don't recall what else was on his plate but it was all very sparse and tasteless. When we left the cashier (owner?) asked how everything was. My husband lied and said it was good. I didn't say anything. As we got back into our car, we both said we were still hungry. That was $60 wasted. read more

We were greeted at the door and made to fill very welcome. We spoke with the owner and found out they have been open just short of one year. We had 5 people in our party and everyone got something different; the opinions on the food were unanimous that the food was delicious, the customer service was outstanding and the atmosphere was great.
