It's small independent neighborhood automotive repair shops like this that I prefer to do business with. For someone who doesn't know about cars, I feel like this is a good place to tell everyone that you should definitely get a 2nd opinion before having anything besides oil done on your car here. I don't know enough to know what my car needs, but I think it's just a safe way to go for these kinds of things. The staff is super helpful, and the service was great! Can't complain there! There's really not much else to say! Easy to get in, easy to get out, and I didn't feel like they were too pushy on trying to upsell me on things. They were just doin' their jobs, so kudos to them. Especially with the groupon, the value proposition is pretty high. I think the only way to do it cheaper is to do it yourself, which I neither have the time nor skills for!

After using an online coupon, it came out to $80 using synthetic blend oil 4-5 quarts. LIFE HACK: get the online coupons and change filters and wipers yourself.

They bring me oil colors so I can see the difference between my dirty colors and the new vibrant colors I should have. So of course I want my car to run great so im saying yes to every new filter and yes to every new fluid but Im not a mechanic so im trusting them like I've trusted my last oil change place. There is a good energy here and I hope they are doing everything they say they are doing because this is my only vehicle and Im a single mom with 2 teenagers. Between the 3 of us we are constantly going to and from everywhere. So far im happy with the service but I still have 3 guys under my hood. The real test will be how well we do until our next inspection. Based off my experience so far I will be back =). FYI: I was a committed customer to Valvoline Express off of Dyer and Main in Santa Ana but they did something I didnt like during my last oil change. So the last time I was there left a great review but before I drove off the guy brings me a list of all the things they did to my car and the only thing I recognized was Replaced windshield wiper. I knew for a fact they replaced them. They guy apologized and replaced them but now how do I know what else "they forgot" to do?

SMH…read more --- Been meaning to write this review for weeks, but the final straw came today when I found out yet again that the clowns working at this Oil Stop are either a.) incompetent or b.) did the equivalent of spitting in my food for an oil change establishment. 1. I sat through this oil change asking only for 1 thing upon pulling in- please check/fill the air in the tires because I have an alert on the dash that they're low. Literally was told I was all set and go to drive away, only to find the tires were still low and hadn't been touched. 2. The day after my oil change, I hear a grinding of sorts. Upon investigation, find that the plastic piece of the undercarriage was hanging down, not secured in place, and now torn up from the pavement from driving on it. (Mind you, they needed to remove this piece to change the oil.) My boyfriend takes it back, to be told it was "already like that" and when bf asks why they didn't mention it to me if it was already damaged, their response was "well, she's a woman". Unbelievable because shouldn't I be warned of a potential danger? 3. After they secured the damaged piece back, I am now getting an error on dash stating the front camera is blocked. Upon investigation, there is a clear finger print of OIL smeared over said camera. 4. I take the car for a minor repair to my normal place and they inform me the oil dipstick is BROKEN. Now, either these guys did this when they changed the oil, or again failed to tell me it was broken...in either case, they are trash. The funny thing is that the only thing they did to try and rectify anything was to give a 10% discount on my next oil change smh. DON'T TAKE YOUR CAR HERE. THEY'LL COST YOU MONEY AND ADD A HEADACHE ON TOP OF IT.

I had taken in my 2014 Lexus ES350 for a simple drain and fill. For context the vehicle has 130k miles and has had this service done 2 times and this was third. Vehicle has been maintained very well right. I had noticed the process was absurdly fast. I asked if he did all leveling procedures and ensure it was done the proper way. He assured me he tried and he's done this before by skipping these steps and it would make no difference. Keep in mind ive done this 2 other times and it can only be considered done with proper leveling. Anyways, I immediately notice super harsh shifting, erratic gear selecting, and a terrible jerk in the transmission. I had again called him and asked if he did the leveling procedure and if it was done correctly his response disregarded the need for a proper level because "this was his way of doing it". So I brought it to him to drive the vehicle, he had stated in verbatim "man these cars are terrible " "the transmission are known to go out by 60k & 80k miles" "yours is most likely on its way out". "It's the clutches not the fluid" "I am fairly experienced with this car and the and U660E. What he stated was absurd but there is always a possibility. So I took the car to the dealer for a mature vehicle inspection FROM LEXUS. my report had said the transmission was overfilled and would be 390$ to completely redo the service. I finally took action and had called to drain the excess fluid with a diagnostic tool and proper leveling procedure BUT BEFORE I NEEDED TO CONFIRM. I called the guy and asked if the leveling procedure was done and he said yes but it's not necessary. I finally got over the lying and mentioned I'd taken it to the dealer and they had mentioned it being overfilled and I said I don't want a fight I just need to know my next steps on how to solve this issue and I need honesty to correct whatever had been done. He finally admitted to having skipped the leveling procedure. Here is a picture of the amount of excess fluid. Absolutely terrible lack of honesty and complete carelessness in his service as a simple but tedious step which could have been avoided caused me to waste time and have to replace the fluid.

The last time I brought my vehicle to Valvoline for service, I had my tires rotated. At no point…read moredid the technicians inform me that my tires were severely worn on the inner edges. The wear was so bad that it created a serious safety concern and could have resulted in a tire failure or blowout while I was driving on the freeway. Because of that experience, during my most recent service I specifically asked the technician to check whether my tires were wearing on the inner edges. I was shocked when he told me that he doesn't do that. Afterward, I looked into Valvoline's policy and learned that tire inspections are not part of their service. I understand that now, but I think customers should be made aware of this especially when having their tires rotated. I had assumed that if a technician was removing and rotating my tires and noticed severe or potentially dangerous wear, they would bring it to my attention. If you need anything done involving your tires, I would NOT recommend coming here. Take your vehicle somewhere that actually inspects the condition and wear of your tires. Tires are a critical safety component, and severe inner edge wear can be difficult for the average driver to see. This is a huge safety concern for me. My tires were worn badly enough on the inside that I could have experienced a tire failure on the freeway, yet I left my previous service without anyone warning me. Customers should know that having their tires rotated at Valvoline does not necessarily mean their tires are being inspected for dangerous wear.

What disappointed me most was that I originally thought I would be able to keep my old tire and take it home, because I believed I could patch it myself and keep it as a spare. In the end, that was not how it worked. Their used tire replacement process meant they kept my original tire and gave me another used tire in exchange. So it did not really feel like I was simply buying a used tire for $60. It felt more like I was trading in my old tire, which did not even have a hole that obvious to me, and still paying $60 on top of that. The service was done quickly, but the overall experience left me feeling less satisfied than before. We were looking at buying an Audi Q4 e-tron that had a damage report. A reputable dealership told us it was "minor" and offered to take it to the mechanic for our peace of mind. I was unfortunately late by 30 minutes, so I waited for two people (I think they both had alignments too?). However I was out by 90 minutes from start to finish. I think they spent about 30 minutes or less on my car which is pretty fast from my experience. They didn't scratch the rims (19 inch staggered wheels like rear 255/35R19) They used torque wrenches. Tires are well balanced using hunter road force balancer and I didn't notice any wobbling or roaring. I'll be back and on time for my other cars :)

HI my name is Tino i came to Dannys Auto service mechanic shop on 12-10-11 i got his number from my brother in law who has never been to Dannys auto service before himself but he had heard he was a great and honest mechanic and once.i called Dannys auto service Dannys great professionalism came across on our phone conversation. i needed to get my break pads installed in my 2004 Harley f250 truck and have my rotters resurfaced and they did that at a very reasonable price .i had gotten 5 prior quotes from other mechanics including my families long term mechanic who didn't have time to look @ my Truck until wed of next week. Here at "Danny's repair shop" getting my water pump and thermostat changed out on my 2005 scion XB. Let's just start by saying that they are still working on my car as we speak. Right when I pulled into the plaza at 8:00 am, he was the first person I saw, pointed towards me to pull into a parking spot off to the side. Once I got to the "front desk", Danny the owner quickly asked me what I needed done on my "xBox", which I thought was hilarious. He gave me different options to different parts to try to save me money. In the end, the oem parts in this case was cheaper than the alternative. BTW, he only reccommends OE manufacturers of parts, I.e Aisin or Denso. Danny is a "Genuinely" nice guy. He reminds me of Jay Leno. He sorta looks like him and talks like him. LOL. Customer service seems to be his number one priority. I've been eaves dropping on his conversation with other customers and he is the guy who will fix your car right the first time. He knows his stuff. The parts were fairly priced and I'm very confident the workmanship here at the shop will be stellar. Superior customer service at it's best. I am so confident that I am writing this review as they are working on my car. This will have to be a YELP first. Read my other reviews on which shops not to go to. Highly recommend Danny! I took my Jeep in to get a quote on the differential because my previous mechanic was charging me $1500. After he test drove and did an inspection (which he didn't even charge me for) he was able to pin point the actual problem. Danny really took the time to explain the issue so I could understand what was going on. No bullshit of $1500 in parts/labor etc but straight to the point of what my car actually needs. I was told by my previous mechanic that I needed the WHOLE new part for $1500. After Danny did a thorough inspection, he assured me that I only needed a few bearings to fix the specific issue. Unfortunately, Danny doesn't fix differentials but he still took the time to refer me to a trusted mechanic/friend (next door) that could help me. He even went over there to check his availability and to confirm that he'd be able to fix it. With his referral- my differential issue, oil and back brake pad was fixed for $500!! and now my Jeep doesn't sound like an airplane and drives much smoother! So although Danny wasn't to work on my car, he still helped save me $1000! Danny- thank you for your honesty and taking the time to help me. I needed my breaks done and I was looking for a new mechanic. A good and TRUSTWORTHY mechanic is hard to find. I didnt want to go to my old mechanic because I always felt they took "advantage" of their customers. As some auto places do. Especially being a woman (you ladies know what im talkin bout!). Most try to "scare" you into getting this and that done. I had consulted with other mechanics and got quotes from them but the prices I had gotten where ridic! Then I came across Danny's Auto Service...what a difference from other auto shops! Danny Sr. took the time to show me and explain everything to me in detail in a language I can actually understand lol. Did a great job of keeping me in the loop. I started going to Danny about a year ago. Before that I always went to Big O Tires where they are super over priced and there always seemed to be something wrong with my car. I told my boyfriend I needed to take my car somewhere else because I could not understand how I had all these problems, yet my car was new! He told me about his mechanic (Danny) and how him and his family have been going there for years and they love the service. I started going there and that is the ONLY place I trust and will be continuing my service at. The service is quick and non expensive! I love that it is affordable, since car maintenance is not always cheap. He answers all my questions and goes above and beyond when I have a concern about something to not only tell me, but show me why certain things happen. He hooked me up with a tire pressure tool, since I was clueless on when to fill up my tires up with air. Overall, I am highly satisfied with the service, friendly yet professional place. Great customer service. Danny is a very honest man and he is an expert in his line of work!! I took my car to Hyundai for a diagnostic and they were charging me almost $700 to get my car up and running again. I found Danny's auto service online and brought my car in to get a second opinion. He took a closer look and realized that the reason my car would not start was something simple (a fuse) that only cost $20. I am so angry that Hyundai mechanics were trying to scam me into new parts I did NOT need and they failed to see the real reason my car was not starting up! I had such a bad experience with Hyundai!! Danny saved me so much time and money. I am forever grateful to him. Thank you soooo much for getting me out of this nightmare!!! It is hard to find a good mechanic these days that do not overcharge and are sincerely looking out for you! I felt that my car was in great care at his shop. So it took me a while to getting around to leaving a review but this place is where you want to go if you want the job done right. I got here and the owner Danny helped me out right away. I needed my brakes done and a oil change. He told me they had a deal that you get your oil change and you get a free brake inspection. That way if I only need my front brakes done I wouldn't have to get all 4. In the end I needed all four done. But Danny took the time to explain things. I think it was fair price for everything. Danny is straight forward guy and is good people. Doesn't try to sell you something you don't need. The costumer service was great and while I waited I had free wifi to entertain me. I first moved to Santa Ana 6 weeks ago and needed my brakes done. Danny Jr. was very kind and the job was completed with no issues and his price quote was what I paid. Today, I took my car there because it was wobbling badly. Danny Jr. explained the issue to me, but I was still upset. After crying my eyes out, I remembered that I had a spare that could solve my issue. Being that I only had $14 to my name, I asked if I could pay them $10 to change my tire. Danny Sr. was kind enough to have my tire changed for FREE ! I was so grateful until I cried and was able to use the $10 to put gas in my car to make it to my orientation in Los Angeles. Danny's is the best auto repair shop ever! They are really fair with their pricing and very courteous. When they say that your car will be ready at a certain time, you can count on it! they really care about their customers. They are extremely good at what they do. Danny (senior) is always on site and shows a total commitment to his business. My entire family takes their vehicles to Danny's and will never go anywhere else. I'm from out of town and was in Santa Ana to buy a car but needed it checked out first. The owner was so great and friendly. Being a girl, it's always nerve wrecking going to a mechanic without a male with me as I feel like most places take advantage of our lack of knowledge, but not Danny's! He was honest and made my sister and I feel so comfortable. He also did an oil change on her car while we where there and his prices are great. Danny's is the Best.......there for emergencies, but most importantly the regular maintenance pricing and availability is what you can count on! I was on my way to my friends house when my car started to overheat. I pulled over and noticed there was an auto shop near by. I got out of my car and ran over to ask them for help. The employees quickly helped me to push my car into their shop and began examining it. I was a little afraid because I was all by myself being a young woman. I didn't want them to take advantage and sell me things I didn't need, but not Danny. He knew exactly what was wrong and fixed my car right back up. I've driven from LA County to have Danny and his team work on my cars for over 20 years! They are friendly, honest and fair with pricing, and they do excellent and efficient work. Danny has also answered some questions by phone in an emergency when I was stuck on the road and needed to know what to do! Other than some emergency work that I needed and a few oil changes. He always charged me a fair price which is why I respect him a lot. I've never had a BS service recommended by him. Everything is "hey, look at this" or "this is what is wrong". We reached out to Arnold for a pre-purchase inspection. While six other places quoted us $250-$350 for a "comprehensive" inspection, we paid Arnold $100, which was a STEAL for what he did, even more than what the others promised. He spent at least two hours thoroughly checking the vehicle, test driving it and walking us through every detail so we truly understood its condition. We were looking at buying an Audi Q4 e-tron that had a damage report. A reputable dealership told us it was "minor" and offered to take it to the mechanic for our peace of mind. After browsing Yelp and reading the amazing reviews, we decided to come here instead and I'm so glad we did. I had already done my due diligence and familiarized myself with the vehicle and potential issues. I asked Arnold very specific, technical questions that I already knew the answers to. He answered every single one with clarity and confidence and everything I was expecting to hear. My husband stayed the entire time, and Arnold patiently explained everything while inspecting the car. You can tell he was that kid that made the auto shop his playground growing up. He's passionate, meticulous, and GENUINELY cares. What impressed me most is that Arnold will never pressure you. My 2018 Honda civic's AC hasn't worked since last year and when I took it to Norms Honda, they quoted me $2,176 to fix the evaporator. I took it to another mechanic and they quoted me $400 for an A/C diagnostic and another $2,400 to fix the evaporator. I was so obviously being taken advantage of, and being a single young woman who knows nothing about cars I was almost willing to pay. But LUCKILY I was able to do more digging on yelp, got an online quote, and was able to bring my car in the same day! Junior explained to me that I was obviously being taken advantage of by the Honda dealership and the previous mechanic. He let me know the problem wasn't as severe or expensive to fix as I was previously told. He was able to give me the best price to fix the problem and since I saved a lot of money, I was able to afford adding additional services that I desperately needed to get fixed like my axles, gasket, and spark plugs. Because his prices were so reasonable, I left feeling like I got a new car. To everyone looking for a reliable, honest car shop that you can rely on, I cannot recommend this place enough!!
