I stopped by today to ask a question about my windshield washer not working. I'm not a regular customer but I was in the area and thought to try because of the good Yelp ratings. Danny was about to go to lunch but waited for me. He not only checked my windshield washer pump and system, he diagnosed it with a separate power source and determined that the pump for the front and back washer were still working (!) but they just were not getting power. He said to go to an electrical place where they can follow the wires to get it back online. He was SO helpful even though it was not something he covers (because my car was so old the parts and wire diagram not easy to source). I was so impressed with his detective style in figuring out what the problem was and then not even charging me, I can see why he maintains a 5 star rating! I'm definitely coming back here for regular car service items, he is so helpful, friendly and honest, just a fantastic mechanic! read more

My engine was flagged for 'leaking' 'spillage' and I went to Danny's auto to get it fixed. Supposedly they fixed it, same day, about an hour or more for it to get done. $127.50 in labor to remove and replace "parts" as they say. $49 for the actual part. I paid because of good reviews and I know things take time, I don't argue with that, it's a car. Till this day when I get my oil change it still gets flagged so I don't know what the point was of going to this auto location. I also asked Danny about fixing my a/c because it says in his information they can do it and Nope. He said they don't and referred me out. What a waste. I am very satisfied with the hard, quality work here at this location. Before calling and coming in, I was dealing with a car issue relating to my radiator. I honestly did not know what the issue was, or where it was coming from, except that my car was overheating and had splatters of antifreeze/ coolant under the hood of my car. I was looking into auto shops, and this shop caught my eye, not only for its good reviews, but also, that many woman have come here before and were honest in what they had said. When calling this shop, I spoke with the owner Danny. Mind you, his business has been here since 1995, and to my experience is top tier! I let Danny know what issue I was having with my car. He checked my car the following morning and I really appreciated the knowledge he had and was patient to explain to me what was happening, and how in the future I can prevent the issue. He and his team worked on my car the same day they checked it out, took about two hours and got my car back on the same day I brought it in. I am very satisfied how efficient Danny and his team were, and are very reasonable. I will definitely be coming back for other car related things. I wish I could give this place 10 stars, but 5 is the most. This is THE auto service shop, to date, that I am super content with. Come through, but I prefer you call first before just coming in. After seeing all the fantastic reviews on Yelp, I decided to give Danny a call and schedule an oil change. When I called to see if he had availability, as well as the rate of the oil change and tire rotation - he told me to head in right away. Upon arrival I was greeted by Danny himself! Not only did he take my vehicle in right away, he also helped me out with the cost of the tire rotation. Since I left my car there and got picked up, he called me within an hour and a half to let me know my car was ready. Picked it up and was on my way! A few days later, my car was making an unusual noise so I called him up right away. Not only did he provide great advice over the phone, he asked me to go back so he could check out my oil levels. Turns out I just needed new tires. Beyond that - I had issues with my windows regulator for about 6 months prior to visiting Danny. Well unfortunately the night before I wanted to take my car back for him to check it out... my window just gave out and would no longer go up or down. Fortunately for me ... We have an older Kia Soul. Lately, it's been stalling and sometimes just stops running as you drive it. We took it to our regular mechanic and to the Kia dealer. Amazing and dumbfounding as it seems they said nothing is wrong with the car. I live in San Diego and had to go to Orange County (about a 1.5-hour drive). While I was there, the car stalled and stopped running. I was able to restart it and get to my destination. I did some research on Yelp and found Danny's Auto Service had some great reviews and they were really close. I called and spoke directly to Danny. He said he had other customers with the same problem and he had fixed it for them. He said that it was probably a crankshaft sensor that was faulty and for some reason, it doesn't show up with a routine "code check." He found out by troubleshooting it the old school way. I brought my car to him and he confirmed that this was the problem. He had the car back to me within a couple of hours for a very reasonable price. In today's world, it's really difficult to find an honest, experienced mechanic that doesn't want to rip you off, let alone one that can fix a problem that you've dealt with for months. On top of that, I was from out of town and Danny has no idea if I will be a return customer or not. Yet, he still took care of me as if I had been a loyal customer for years.
