I remember my parents using Dan's Auto when it was in a different location when I was a kid.... it's been their go-to for many years when they had jeeps. While it has changed owners since the 80's, it's still a great auto place. When I moved back to the area from Boston, I asked my dad where I could get my Jeep Wrangler fixed. He told me to go to Dan's Automotive and specifically said "They're not the cheapest, but they do good work." It's really true you get what you pay for - I'd rather a reasonable rate for an honest day's work than get a hack job and have my jeep explode. In the past going to get my car worked on has always been a source of anxiety. I don't know too much about the ins and outs of cars and I really despise being the girl in her 30's that says "hold on, I gotta call my dad" to see if I was being swindled. (yes, I really used to do that). I've been going to Dan's now for 3 years every time my enigma of a jeep makes a weird noise and haven't called my dad once. I always feel like a car hypochondriac, but Suzanne who runs the front desk always assures me I'm normal and not crazy. They break down the charges and work very specifically and get it done in a timely manner. They're honest about the severity -to fix immediately or not a pressing problem that I can take time to save money for. They've fixed up current parts to avoid needing a whole new expensive one, saving me money. I actually don't mind dropping off my car anymore because everyone there is friendly. Was going to Zeller tire before Dans and after my first trip to Dans...i noticed just how much Zellers was ripping me off. These people will show you exactly what is wrong with your car and explain the whole thing to you so even if you know nothing about cars..you will still understand. Cannot recommend enough. I don't usually post reviews on things like this, but these guys are awesome. If you are sick of being ripped off by the dealerships in town, this is a shop you can actually trust. I have been bringing all my cars to them for several years now. On more than one occasion I have brought a car in thinking that I needed work done, and they have never done more work than necessary. Once I thought I needed new brake pads and rotors on my wife's car and would have gladly paid hundreds of dollars for the work. The mechanic called me personally and explained that the squealing of the brakes was because my wife doesn't drive too much, and there was some harmless buildup on the rotors. He talked me into cleaining the rotors for like $50 and told me, "Look, I'd love to take your money but you don't need new brakes." Several times they have told me that my car didn't need as much work done as I thought and they have been right every single time. My cars are getting up there in mileage but Dan's keeps them running beautifully. I trust them completely with my cars. I am suspicious of just about every service provider, but with these guys I practically just drop my car off, have the work done, and pay them no questions asked. Henry the mechanic was very honest in fixing our 94 Jeep Wrangler. We could not get it to pass emissions due to many problems. My husband had worked on it for over a year and our last attempt to get it running properly and pass emissions was to bring it here on the recommendation of a local business. Henry worked on it and originally thought it needed some sensors but finally figured out it was a vacuum leak in a tiny hose that would have been impossible for anyone to find. So instead of replacing part after part he replaced the hose and voila it passed emissions and is running like a champ!!!! He only charged us for his labor!!!! We are very thankful to have finally found a nice honest mechanic who knows his stuff!!!! We will bring our business to him and recommend him to everyone we know!!!!! Thanks Henry!!!! read more

The woman was able to give us discounts and gave us another day for FREE. We were able to move all of our goods effciently and were given unlimited miles in order to get us there. She was kind and patient and would come back if I weren't leaving the state. read more

DO not rent a Penske truck here. I had reserved and confirmed a truck rental. When I went to pick it up, they didn't have a truck for me and couldn't guarantee one be available that day. I had two friends make plans to help. Totally wasted their day off, and messed up my move. I just wanted to post here for anyone needing a truck rental to look elsewhere. I later was able to go to a competitor who had great service, and the price was better. I called Penske customer service and got the O WELL, OOPs answer. I had used this location in the past and was not happy with their response. read more

This was by far the worst experience I have ever had with a mechanic. They were threatening to hold my car over a part that did not need to be replaced at that time. They held it over a weekend with out any authorization and had to go through a ton of trouble to get it out of there the following Monday. I would never give this place any money.
