I echo Sean M's comment on leaving with a military cut. I asked for a #3 around the sides and scissors on top. Instead of getting that, I ended up with pretty much a #2 all around. At no point was I asked if the back should be squared or round. Shown back of head or even an offer to trim eyebrows. Not a big deal, but even the cheap chains do that. I wanted to give this place a shot, but I walked out with one of the shortest cuts ever in my life and not much in terms of service. read more

Like others have said... if you don't want a military cut, then don't go here. They have "low fades" on the list of haircuts, so I asked for that, guy ends up giving me the shortest cut of my life. You are also not cut in front of a mirror, so you can't look at yourself or tell the barber anything. It's a surprise at the end. Would not recommend coming here. read more

The guys always take the time to do a good job. Pleasant conversation is always welcome. The tv is generally tuned to nostalgia type shows which is a welcome change from 24 hour news. If I could write a zero I would. Go in to get a haircut and Beard trim. Told him hit the mustache and little on the sides of the Beard. He ends up hacking my entire beard up. Says he only touched the sides and claimed he barely touched the beard. Claimed most of what he cut was hair off my head. I picked up plenty of beard hair it's a different coarse of hair. I asked Dan if it looked straight and he said he thought it was. This place is a joke don't waste your time nor money. You want a hack job for Halloween go ahead, Edward Scissor Hands does a better job than these idiots read more

I just dropped Dan's name to someone asking about a good barber, so I should probably write a review, huh? First, this shop can be difficult to find. You have to either come up from behind the shop off of the side streets of Westerville, or come down State St. into uptown Westerville, turn off into an alley, pop out and find parking, and then walk over. That said, Dan is a really great, laid back barber who will do a great job of taking care of your hair. My dad has been getting his hair cut by Dan since before he owned his own shop, and happily followed him when he branched out almost 12 years ago. He'll listen to what you want, and he'll do his best to make sure you're happy with what you get. The shop itself has a decent waiting area, good music, and a very clean and bright interior. If you go on a Friday or Saturday, figure on a potential wait - if you want to drop in for a quick cut and get back out quickly, I'd try going on a weekday. When I'm in town and I need the best hair cut I can get, I've always gone to see Dan. read more

Shop may seem hard to get to, but it is not. Take the stop light entrance off Schrock and weave around to the store. If you are coming North on Cleveland you can easily see the store to your East but you must turn East on Schrock and enter. Best haircut I've had in my life. Excellent shave of the neck. Layered perfectly. I would now consider ALL who have cut my hair in the past to be amateurs. Finally found what I'll sick with. read more

Excellent haircut. They charge extra for a Flattop, but that is truly a sign of a barbershop that knows how to do a great flattop. Just went yesterday so I thought I should write a review. Since I went on a weekday it wasn't very busy so I am not sure how it is on the weekend. First thing to note is that they DO NOT take credit card like it says on this page. Now since they are a small shop and were very friendly I was able to get my haircut and then go run and grab some cash and bring it back to pay them. They take cash and check but don't take anything bigger than a $20 bill. They are VERY friendly and love to chat. There are only two chairs so if there is a bunch of people you might be waiting a while. I had a hair cut and a beard trim and both were very good. They don't shave though so if you are looking for that you will have to go somewhere else. All in all a great business that I will most likely visit again. I still plan to try out a few other barbers in the Columbus area before deciding on a regular shop but this is definitely a contender. read more

While Dan was personable, the girl, when trimming my beard did nothing but complain about beards for the entire time she was trimming it. And at the end of the day, she still didn't listen to how I wanted it shaped. While the price was reasonable, and Dan seemed like a nice guy, I won't be going back due to this experience. read more
