This review is for the work Tommy did on my boat top in June/July 2017. I contacted Tommy at Seams…read moreRidiculous to replace an aging convertible top on my boat. He quoted me a very good price. I was quite excited to have him work on it after looking up his work online and seeing his experience. The final product did not live up to the hype that the internet, nor he, put out. He copied the pattern of the top perfectly, according to him. It was a very bad fit with holes at all four corners that I could put my fist through. Some zippers were too long, some too short. The front area of the canvas between the forward bow and the windshield was bowed down so badly that it actually had to come back UP to get to the windshield, and was actually impeding the view at the top of the windshield! . According to him, this was how they all are. Not so. Never seen one like that before, ever. My last top was a perfect fit, just old. When I told him how I was able to get that valley out of the canvas, he reminded me that he was the award winning expert and I was not. He subsequently talked me into spending more money for the side curtains as that "was the only way he could match everything up". I OK'd that. He built the curtains and installed them. Had my wife take pics when I was away and send them. The four corners are reasonably filled in, but the curtains are very sloppy. Lots of slack. He even sewed into the Isinglass! That is a big No-No in tops. It will rip by the end of the year. I called him and he was immediately angry, and actually yelling. I did mistakenly call him around 7:30 at night (I was several time zones away and forgot), but still no excuse. The things that came out of that mans mouth make me wonder how he can stay in business. Not only will he not fix the valley in the canvas, but demanded payment immediately (although he knows I had not seen in person yet) and threatened to tear it all down if final payment not received ASAP. He refused to work on it any longer and address any of his "mistakes". Very unprofessional. I saw the final product in person and payed him. I wanted to be done with his hostility, unprofessional-ism and lack of quality craftsmanship. I told him I was going to have to hire someone else to repair his mistakes, to which I got no reply. No one deserves to be yelled at who is a paying customer and whom only wanted to address the issues, calmy. I never raised my voice, insulted his work or swore at him. He did all of that to me, the paying customer who had issues with his work. I strongly do not recommend him for working on boat tops, or any other work.
