I had just finished treatment for cancer and I can't hear very well and the technician knew this. If ripping off elderly people on a retirement income is their business model then shame on them. It's concerning that Dan's Garage Doors not only failed to fulfill the agreed-upon service but also displayed a dismissive attitude when confronted about their subpar workmanship. Dan came out to assess the damage on our damaged garage door. The door was damaged about a year ago, but we waited until it was falling off the rails to call for assistance. Dan had great reviews on our local neighborhood page so I gave him a call. He made time for me that day and gave us some options on replacing the door. It was a Friday so he offered to fix the current door so it was operable and let us decide over the weekend. I called him Monday and told him our choice on the new door and he had it installed by Thursday. Dan was extremely easy to work with. He was friendly and professional. I have a garage door control that stopped working and I replaced the battery but it still did not work while I have a second one that does. The tech came to my house to "evaluate" the situation and instead of trying to reprogram my opener he tells me I need a complete new motor and to balance the door. WHAT A SCAM!!! I feel I was totally scammed to fix my garage door. I had two rollers off. He originally quoted me $480 if he does not replace the rollers but $320 if he does replace them. I don't get that? Anyways, I get the bill and it's $677! He said the cost of each roller was separate at $35 which he did say originally but when we were talking deal he said the above with no mention of the extra. That much to simply fix a garage door that took him like 1/2 hour! I feel I was scammed by this company. He did lower the price after I threatened to not pay and go to court since he quoted me something different. They gave price differently from 2 times I called. The first time, it was $145 per spring. I scheduled an appointment and no one came. The second time I called, they said price is $125-$245. Then when the technician came, he charged me the highest price possible on the price range. Then they asked to do 2 springs so they will give a discount. If not, they'll charge me $29 for just lied to me to come out and gave highest possible price. Very bad business. DON'T GO WITH THEM read more

He totally missed an easy fix which another company found in 5 minutes because I did not have him do the work.
