I used them to install an overhead door and opener. Did a good job, but when it malfunctioned they would not answer texts, no email, will not answer phone, will not return phone messages. Tried many many times over several days with no response. I had a house emergency where we needed to get in/out of the door many times quickly and have the door closed for security reasons. Had to manually open/close the door which is a 2 man, hard operation. One delivery took material back because they could not open the door. Rick ignored all of my pleas to come fix the door. This was the second time I had issues trying to get in touch with them. Their warranty or service is worthless. read more

I ordered a really nice Clopay brand 16' wide triple layer, insulated garage door from Home Depot that was on sale. I planned to install it myself, since I have done this job before and was so stoked about the low price from Home Depot. When the door was delivered, it came from San Marcos Overheard Door. I asked the man how much to install it. $250 was his price. Deal! That's way less than I'm willing to spend to save me from having to do it. I scheduled the installation for a few days later. I have been trying to contact Clopay Doors, to check the status of my order and I don have any response. I paid in full the price of the door and the installation. when I ordered the door, I stated That I needed in emergency ( I can't open or close my garage door because have a cut in the middle and is pulling drastically the top rail). I purchased my doors through Home Depot and San Marcos Overhead Door was the installer. The installation of two doors took about half a day. I was happy with the installation except that the springs were too tight and lifted the door on their own. Rick said they would relax after a few operations, but that was not the case. I called and left a message and received a call back within an hour or so. He provided me with a quote for two new doors on a metal garage I was having built. He even agreed to install the openers that I purchased for an additional charge. When he came out to install the doors, the building wasn't ready yet, so we agreed to have him return when the building was ready. This happened twice. I wasn't charged for the additional trips. Once he did, the work was done quickly and efficiently, and at a very reasonable price, as quoted. Yes, this is a one man shop, and not a large corporation. Rick had just previously come by the house a week or two ago when the garage door was pulled off its tracks. Once he arrived, he told us he could fix our garage door for $65 instead of selling us a new one which saved us over $1000. Just this Saturday the spring broke and dropped the door onto both our vehicles, essentially trapping us from leaving the house. He was out of town when we text him about what had happened. When he got back in town on Sunday he came right over. Again, instead of manipulating the situation and selling us a new door he replaced a hinge and the spring, readjusted the openers arm, and it was fixed within half an hour and worked better than it ever has. When he told me how little I owed, I gave him more out of appreciation. He even tried to turn that down. This man's honesty and integrity are unquestionable in my book. Use him if you need him. You may have to wait a little bit for him if he's booked up or can't get right back to you. He's a one-man show and has a life outside of garage doors, so you may have to be a little patient and possibly follow up, but he's definitely well worth the wait. read more

Did research on garage doors and was looking in the Canyon Lake area for an installer. Didn't know i was calling a supplier and the nice lady gave me a number to call. Called and the man answered pretty quick and was good enough to give me information and options while driving. Putting up with me was to be commended. Got information to think about and would call again. Every time i called or messaged Rick got back with me quickly. I flip-flopped on door colors and styles and Rick was OK. He scheduled, kept our initial appointment and came out early. Told him I'd let him get with it and he insisted he wouldn't mind the company (while he worked). We talked a lot while he worked and while he was accepting calls. Always cordial and fun even as i know i had to be some distraction. I was being a little (well maybe a lot) picky and Rick was good about it. Throughout, Rick did an outstanding job, finished quickly and I couldn't be happier. Top quality and i love the "high-lift system. Had over the phone "estimates" and another company come out with two guys to bid. Others were considerably higher and i'm not sure I could have even been been happier than what Rick provided. I backed into my garage door last Thursday night leaving both cars stranded inside and no way out. I went to the internet, saw two companies listed and based on the reviews called this guy first thing Friday morning. This one man show answered, listened to my story and said he would be there around 11:00. At 11:05 he pulled up. He took one look and said that probably the best he could do was remove it until after Thanksgiving. Exasperated I said are you sure? He took a deep breath and went to work . Now this is a 45 year old masonite door and with just a little help from me, in less than an hour it was all fixed and working better than ever before. The price was so fair I added 20%. I highly recommend San Marcos Overhead Door. This company has helped me on two occasions. The first instance was when my garage door wouldn't close. I called to schedule for him to come out, and instead he had me check the sensors and walked me through how to readjust them - problem fixed! The second time, our springs broke and dropped the door. We had to wait a few weeks to be scheduled in, but i'm glad we did. I had previously called a few other places and was very disappointed and disgusted over their business practices of trying to haggle with you over the phone. Overhead Door was easy to work with - he gave me a quote range over the phone, called prior to coming over, he was ON TIME, so friendly, and kind in explaining everything he was doing. He let me pester him and ask a ton of questions the whole 25 min it took him to fix the garage door. The door is now working great, he gave me some other tips of things to do to keep our door in good shape, and we are happily using our garage for our car storage again. In Wimberley, I had SM Overhead install 4 garage doors, two of them with motorized openers. 9 years later had a problem, called, they called right back, had me do some lubrication (easy), problem solved.
