Very bad experience with Microblading. I had to give it time to heal of course before I write this since can't tell what you're getting till weeks later. The color of my eyebrows was NOT custom matched and made it extremely dark AGAINST my request. The blading looks very unnatural, uneven, and the brows don't match in length. She used very long strokes, a lot of which run straight which looks really bad. Then when the technician was finished, she said that I can get a touch up in 6 weeks for $200 since I am a Groupon customer. But when I get to the front desk the lady there tells me that it's normally $250 but she'll do $200 if I pre-pay. Shady business practice! Bad customer service, had to call for a month to get refund for prepaid touch up, cause I'm not going back! They made me call back several times and I even left messages on voicemail. They never initiated a call back. I never got an apology for bad product and service. Just a waste of money and time is all this was! read more

My friend and myself had our massages today at Dansk today. Even though we both enjoyed our therapist....Ji and Giovanna, the place is unorganized. The lobby is noisy and chaotic. There was a couple having lunch in the lobby behind a screen...can you say awkward. Not the most romantic couples massage. We were not immediately greeted when we arrived even though 3 staff members were in the lobby. Think i will keep looking for a permanent spot. I may give it one more time and go back for the acupressure massage. read more

Listen, they may give a great massage but we'll never known. I bought my wife a massage for Mother's Day online. I never paid attention to the fine print because I stupidly assumed this business honored gift certificates like literally every other respectable business. My wife called and told her story. She found out she was pregnant and didn't want to use her massage until after the baby ways born. The receptionist didn't really care and said she would ask the owner. The owner offered 20% off if she wanted to come in. Yeah, because inflation is 80% every 6 months. Do us all a favor and stop offering gift certificates unless you want to honor them for at least a year. 6 months is a joke By the way, the Virginia legislature is voting on a state law that would prohibit businesses from setting arbitrary expiration dates on gift certificates. Congratulations on hitting the absolute bare minimum. read more

Went in for a facial, which was alright, but certainly not the most relaxing that I have ever had. The esthetician kept pushing her microblading brow services on me. First off, I came to relax and get a facial - not to be told how crappy my eyebrows look. Secondly, I have a thyroid disorder that makes me not an optimal candidate for that....so, if you had read the thing I filled out, you might have seen that and backed off on pushing microblading. Visited Dansk for the first time yesterday, and I had an hydrafacial. It was a fabulous experience, the ambiance at the spa was serene. There is plenty of free parking in Occoquan (walking distance) and the prices were right! I'll be back for some more facial to help with my adult acne, and will update my review accordingly! I received a Dansk gift certificate from my husband last year (2014) for Mothers Day. I travel quite a bit so the gift certificate got forgotten with everything else going on. My husband this year reminded me that I had this gift certificate from Dansk that to his knowledge, I had never used. I found it but discovered that it had expired. As Dansk is a locally owned small business, and I have been a previous customer on several occasions, I thought I would call and ask them if they would honor the gift certificate. The gift certificate was purchased and money spent, so I didn't want to waste it if it could be redeemed. I called Dansk and explained about the certificate and shortly, the receptionist from Dansk called me back and told me that they would honor it, but I needed to use it before the end of 2014. I made an appointment and received a wonderful deep tissue massage. My bliss was short lived however as upon check-out the receptionist informed me that they would only honor 50% of the gift certificate value, and charged me $57.50 for the remainder of the balance. I mentioned to the receptionist that I didn't remember her saying anything when I made the appointment about only honoring it at 50% only that I needed to redeem it before the end of 2014. She apologized and said she thought she had mentioned it in our conversations. Being in a relaxed state, I didn't want to argue and make a scene, so I paid the additional $57.50. I understand that it was my fault that I did not redeem the certificate before the expiration date. and had Dansk not graciously decided to honor it, my husband would have been out $85 end of story, lesson learned. But at the end of this massage, not only had my husband already paid for it, but I had paid an additional $57.50 bringing the grand total of the massage to $139 and some change. My husband and I work hard for our money and things like massages are a luxury and a treat. Ii am shocked and hurt that such a well respected local business would behave like that. Loyalty is everything to me. I have been getting monthly massages for about a year and recently there was a mix up in scheduling. Both me and a couple were apparently booked during the same time slot or something. They asked me if I'd be ok with a male masseuse (trying to accommodate everyone) and they didn't want a male masseuse either. Both of us said we'd prefer a female which meant someone wasn't getting their massage that day. Unfortunately one of us couldn't get our requested therapist and the receptionist said "You visit monthly right?". After about 5 minutes I was then ushered in to my appt while the couple was rescheduled and offered a complimentary couples massage for the scheduling issue. A free couples massage would probably be worth the inconvenience to me but hey, I'm way more laid back than most so not sure how they felt. Mistakes happen and we move one. Had they asked me to reschedule I would have gladly accepted a complimentary voucher! Spa services are expensive. Customer service is so important and they realize this concept which is why I'm a regular. Nice to see that hasn't changed. read more

The Swedish Massage here is so relaxing and therapeutic... I wish I could get one every week! My experience here has been better than what I've received at another spa in Arlington. I've come to Dansk with my Mom before and we were able to schedule our appointments at the same time in separate rooms, which was really convenient. My massage therapist, Angie, was super sweet and attentive to my upper back and shoulder problems, and the overall massage was AMAZING. Angie even gave me a mini scalp massage in the beginning and it almost put me to sleep. I've also received a Swedish Couple's Massage here with the boyfriend. TIP: Make sure your man isn't ticklish or doesn't mind being touched by strangers before booking a $170 + tip massage for the both of you. SIGH. Thankfully, his massage therapist catered to his preferences and wasn't too afraid of getting kicked in the face. He ended up being fine though and enjoyed himself more than he thought he would. Again, the massage was so wonderfully relaxing (I had Pan as my therapist). I love the soothing music and dim lighting. My only complaint is that I wish our beds were closer together. I understand the therapists need room to walk around us, but I felt like he was so far away! I've gotten a facial here before but didn't care for it too much. I only tried because it was part of a gift certificate I received, and I can't remember for sure which type of facial it was. All I know is my skin didn't feel any better afterwards. And the brush they used to apply the products was too harsh for my liking. The Occoquan area is quiet and quaint. The spa is small but clean and inviting, and the cute wait area has water for clients. Staff is friendly as well and the massage therapists have all been so accommodating. As a little girl, my mom would drag me to Occoquan to go visit antique shops and other "craft" venues that would bore *any* preteen to tears. A decade plus later, w/ her birthday pending, I finally had a reason to drag *her* to her back to Occoquan. Wishing to treat her to a spa day, I meandered through a multitude of mediocre spa ratings on the net. Things were looking bleak. Finally, I came across Dansk. Because it was new yet, there were few reviews. Given the location my mom so loved, I decided to "take my chances". And I was glad I did ;) If you've never been to Occoquan, it's always been a lovely sleepy little town, of quaint homes, shops, old fashioned street lamps, etc. It's grown over the years to include more eclectic businesses, and it now features one of the best little spas I've ever had the pleasure of visiting: Dansk. As you enter the establishment, you're promptly greeted with smiles by the delightful staff, and comforted by the scent of subtle seasonal scented candles filling the office area, while workday woes are whisked away. Before long, you too get "whisked away", as a staff member escorts you outside, around the building, up stairs, and to private quarters posterior to the building. Some might find it unconventional to leave the establishment and journey to the back; but I kind of liked it. It's nice to be removed from the noise of the downstairs business. Once there, an additional waiting area features a very "Zen meets Bohemian" setup, complete with dim lighting, floating candles, and beverages of all types while the esthetician prepares your room. Comparatively speaking (w/ regard to other spas), one feature I enjoyed was how they honored their word to treat my mom and I at the same time.She always asks that we go together so that neither is waiting on the other.. Many spas I've visited will promise such to secure my business, and then fail to do so when we arrive, staggering appointments, and leaving one of us waiting. At Dansk, we were treated simultaneously, and even ended around the same time. Although I absolutely love this place, I'd be doing it an injustice if I didn't give at least a little bit of constructive criticism. While some people get facials with the sole aim of an educational experience on how to perfect their skin care regimen, I am not among them. Prior to my treatment, I clarified that I wanted more of a relaxing session, minimal communication, and a few tips at the end. I like a nice relaxing quiet time where I can just doze. One of the times I visited Dansk, I got a "blow-by-blow" the whole time, and while I tried to be polite, it did really bother me that my desires weren't respected. I don't know many people who can relax/feel good about themselves if their specialist is making them feel insecure about their blemishes. Proper water temperatures and products to use are all very important matters to learn; however these tips might be best to issue *after* the session is over. However, I work in healthcare myself; and realize it's easy to look at people biologically. Sometimes you see a problem instead of a person, and in your aim to educate them on how to rectify the issue, it's easy to forget you're treating a person with feelings. I can empathize. After encountering many therapists at other locations who lack a true knowledge of their field., I see that Dansk, contrarily, has a very educated staff. For some of them, I might simply suggest finding a balance between educating clients while doing so in a diplomatic manner. One goes to a spa hoping to depart feeling good about themselves. And while most of the staff is excellent at achieving this, if you're paying the cost that goes with any beauty treatment, I don't think it's unfair to expect that your experience will parallel your service compensation each and every time. But don't let this rare occurrence deter anyone from visiting Dansk. The experience itself is always thorough and spectacular. The room features mood lighting. You're given a comfortable robe into which you change, prior to slipping into a sheet covered heated treatment table. And they do their research. The products used during the session are catered to your specific skin type, including several types of pastes and cleansers soothing to the touch, and are therapeutic in an aromatic aspect also. Aside from the relaxing, refreshing treatment Dansk provides, if you get a facials, you also leave with a glow, feeling like you've a new super smooth face. You'll be hesitant to put on foundation for days :) Despite the minimal modifications I might like to see, Dansk is an optimal choice if you live in the Northern Virginia region and wish to enjoy a classy, relaxing day complete with a lovely atmosphere of the surrounding riverside town. While I primarily go for their facials, they offer a plethora of other treatments including massage and other best kept beauty secrets into which I myself plan to look soon. read more

My husband gave me a massage and a manicure for my last birthday, and this is where he picked. Overall I really enjoyed it. The therapist was awesome- doing a deep tissue massage that left me loose and a little sleepy. The pricing options were pretty competitive, and the atmosphere was very relaxing and quiet. I went on a Sunday, which is by appointment only, and my husband had booked it several weeks before. The manicure portion I was both impressed and disappointed by. I was impressed because the tech was really cool, very professional, and used great products (the salon carries a toulene free nail polish which stays on for weeks, even with doing dishes). I was disappointed because the chair, while very comfortable was not one of those spa chairs with the spa at the bottom for feet- perhaps it was because I was not having a pedicure, but I saw a tub in the corner of the room for that purpose. Over all though, really awesome. The front desk staff was really nice, and they sell some pretty cool products that I haven't seen before. I would definately recommend this place for a massage, if not a manicure on your way out the door. Oh, and the neighborhood is ADORABLE. read more

I've frequented a few spas (including Red Door) and I must admit that Dansk is the best by far. I frequent Dansk solely for waxing services and I have always been pleased. Candi is awesome and very professional. What I love about Dansk is the personal vibe. I am recognized by name whenever I visit and they are always very polite. Although I am impressed by Dansk, I have to admit their services are a bit on the pricey side. It would be great if they ran specials, especially waxing specials, from time to time. I was provided a spa finder gift card to use at any location and Dansk is what I decided to go to after a month of holding onto the card. My card use couldn't have come at a better time as I truly needed a prenatal massage; 36 weeks pregnant. Other then the lack of parking & 20 minute+ plus of driving in circles trying to find where to park my car; no matter what day or time of the week it is the area seems to be packed, I finally was able to walk a short a distance to the facility. The front desk staff was very nice, and as any spa offered a refreshment. I was seen by Elizabeth who directed me to where I would be getting my massage. She made sure throughout the session that I was comfortable and relaxed. She was not pushy at all, took her time and made sure my comfort level was top priority. I truly enjoyed my first couples massage ever here (and my boyfriend enjoyed his first massage ever, too!). We were offered drinks while we filled out the necessary paperwork, and then ushered into a very nice massage room. We were given the option to choose between a lavendar and eucalyptus massage, and I chose lavendar because I am familiar with and enjoy that scent. I was brought into a very relaxing vibe as my masseuse assisted me with loosening up my muscles and joints. I loved how the pre-massage paperwork asked if we had any restrictions or any special requests. My masseuse listened to and tailored my massage to match what I wanted. I almost fell asleep and could not believe the hour had passed! I was relaxed for the rest of the day and did not want to do anything, which I consider a success. Do NOT, I repeat, DO NOT PATRONIZE THIS SPA. The infrared sauna service gave me FIRST DEGREE BURNS on both arms, thighs, back, & butt. I contacted management - no response. I contacted management again - still zero response. I should have been concerned when they led me up to the second floor and put me in a run-down room that looked to be a storage room with a table. There was a rice paper partition that was torn and stained. But, you could still see the mess behind it. After I got into the sweat clothes provided, the attendant hooked me up, turned on the machine & left. There was no pampering (no head rub, no foot rub, not even a fan). She left the room for me to roast; which is what happened. I called her in to turn down the heat at one point, which she did. But, I indicated that I still felt burning. When the session finished up, I had not sweated much, but was tender to touch. There were no mirrors in the room to see why my skin was stinging. After getting home, I showered and, in drying off, noticed huge red, raised burn welts all across my body. And, they HURT! After giving the Spa ample time to rectify the situation, which they did not... I am leaving this review here to WARN others of this egregious neglect. read more

I have had massages at no-frills Chinesse/Korean spa places and high-end Red Door type places and I think this place is in between the no-frills and high-end. I love this spa - a very nice gem! The receptionists are always friendly and do what they can to get you booked and make sure you are comfortable as you wait for your sessions to start. The owner, Birgit is amazing at Brazilian waxes. I have had many in my life so I can say that she knows what she is doing! She uses high quality hard wax, does pre and post cleansing (which some places skip) and powders before and cream after (which some places skip) and uses a technique that minimizes that pain and redness and the products smell wonderful. I also go to Dansk for Swedish massages which are also amazing! Angie and Naphawen ensure you are relaxed and free of tension when you leave (which makes me not want to ever leave). My husband has even started treating himself to these massages and he is hard to please. I always look forward to going back and book my appointments a few months ahead so I have something to look forward to. read more

I'm so glad I found this place! The spa sends you reminders and phone calls about your appointment time which is extremely helpful, and makes you think, "wow, they really care about me." The moment you walk in you're greeted by a calming scent. The woman at the front desk walks you through everything you need to get done before your service starts. The lounge area is beautifully decorated. The music was SO calming along with the soothing hands of my service provider I fell asleep a couple of times! I've been using Dansk Day Spa for years. However, the business underwent an ownership change late last year. Since that time, things have gone down hill when it comes to customer service. The new owner is more concerned with her individual clients than her other customers. I had a lot of issues at my appointment today and she never could be bothered to talk to me between her personal clients' appointments as they came first. She did not call but sent me an email stating this very point. It is a shame because many of the individual technicians are great, but avoid if you want good front of the business customer service. read more

I was surprised that I was contacted by the owner of the spa about my original review. I am happy to say that my concerns were acknowledged and that the staff would be advised of those concerns. The owner offered for me to come in for a massage. It was excellent. I was seen by Susan of whom is very skillful. I will definitely be requesting her from now on. She did the extra things that make the experience extra ordinary...i.e. wiping down any excess oils, attentive to likes and dislikes without being personally offended...etc. It was refreshing to know that there are still some business owners that appreciate repeat business and care what their clients concerns are! Well, I wanted to like this place after reading all of the positive reviews, but it just didn't happen. The actual facial I got from Dee was nice; however, several negative things kind of ruined the experience. 1. I read that they offered botox, so I asked my husband for a $200 gift cert for this salon for Christmas. When he bought it, he was told that he should pick out a named package (he picked the "exhausted mother"), but that I could transfer it to another service if I wanted. Turns out, botox is excluded from use with gift certificates (along with other services, beware!) and it was not refundable. I called and got the owner, who was very nice, but said that basically I had lost the money I would have used for botox and had to pick out another service (and the botox lady was on indefinite leave, so I couldn't get botox there anyway). That was a huge disappointment. 2. So, I called to get a facial appt 8 different times (during the course of normal business hours on a Friday) and could not get anyone at the desk to pick up. There is an option to leave a voice mail, but I kept trying, hoping to talk to a live person. I finally left a message and no one called back by the close of business. A couple of hours after they opened the next day (still no returned call), I called again and finally got someone. They need a front desk lady that actually answers the phones! 3. Arrived about 5 minutes late for my appt (didn't realize what horrible commuter traffic there is through Occoquan... everyone cuts through to try to get around Old Bridge!). I was in the waiting room, filling out paperwork (I was the only person in the salon), when Dee comes out and loudly asks the front desk girls "is that CHICK going to show up or what?" One of the girls answered "she's already here." I thought that seemed really unprofessional and got our appt off to a bad start (I was totally offended and tense for the first half - if I hadn't had a g.c. that I needed to use, I would have probably left). To be fair, Dee did a good job for the rest of the appointment and the facial was nice. 4. After the facial, Dee told me about a product that I should buy. I was going to buy it, but they were out of stock. She recommended a different product that didn't seem as good, but I purchased anyway. I got home and realized that I probably shouldn't have bought a $70 bottle of lotion that wasn't the one I wanted. The next morning, I returned to return it (unopened) and put my name on a list to be called when the other line of products arrived. The front desk lady told me that she wished that she could return it, but their computers were old and had no feature for returns (?), so I couldn't return it. I asked her why my receipt didn't say all sales are final (or any signs in the store). She showed me the bottom of a copy of a receipt that the customer DOES NOT get that says "all sales are final" and remarked that "yes, it would be better if the customer saw that copy so they would know." She was an older lady (didn't catch her name) with a kind of bad "know-it-all" attitude, but was training a young girl who actually seemed nice. She said that the owner wasn't in, so there was nothing she could do. I told her that I'd sit and wait, because that wasn't right to do to their customers. About 2 seconds later, she comically says "oh wait, NOW I found the button for returns. Huh, I never knew that our computers had this." Riiiiiight. Even the young girl that she was training looked awkward about the bad cover up. Just like that, she returned my money. 5. I asked to be put on the list to come in and buy the original product that I wanted. A month later, still no word. Now, I'm annoyed enough that I'll just find a new salon and buy from there. All in all, the salon is beautiful, the owner seemed nice when I finally talked to her, and Dee's facial was nice, but I experienced quite a few unprofessional moments from the staff that really turned me off from this salon and their "fine print" on returns and gift certificates seem REALLY shady. I booked a deluxe pedicure at the spa to get a small taste of what the service and experience at this small, quaint spa would encompass. To give you a bit of background, I had visited the spa one Sunday prior to booking to tour the facility to see if it I would possibly be satisfied with the amenities, etc. I wasn't impressed with the "relaxation room" as it's not a true relaxation room being that it is a very small open space with only a divider separating it from the waiting area and reception area. There can be constant traffic from the service rooms as well...so I think you can imagine how this area would be if you are actually trying to relax and not be disturbed. Anywho..on to my actual service..I arrived on time and was greeted by the receptionist and she took me to the waiting area where I was offered water or tea. I declined and sat down to wait for my nail service. After waiting about 10 mins over my appointment time, I was finally taken back to the nail room with Donna. The room was small and seemed fairly clean but it wasn't "spa like" in my opinion. Nail polish was aligned on the wall and the nail table to do nails was very plain, basic and not even as nice as one you would find at a nail salon. The foot pan and chair for pedicures looked clean although the foot pan was very shallow and once I put my feet in to be soaked the water barely passed my ankles. Now here are the things that really made me feel the service was not worth paying $77(deluxe pedicure plus French pedicure add-on). First, no sea salts or anything were added to the water, which I am accustomed to, but I do understand spa pedicure services are different from regular nail salons. This was also not my first spa pedicure either as I have visited Red Door as well. The second thing I noticed was attention was only paid to my feet not much to my legs.. The scrub neither the mask was applied to my legs, only my feet. Warm towels were used and plastic was wrapped around my feet after the mask was applied. Third, the foot cream was applied and that was massaged onto my feet and legs..finally my legs received some attention...lol! I mentioned the lack of service on my legs and was informed that pedicures their have been done that way for years. *Your feet need to be wiped off thoroughly afterwards otherwise they will be slippery in flip flops and it will be hard to walk without sliding everywhere. Finally, the spa experience was also not great because several times while in the room my service was interrupted by another nail tech and a client entering the room to select nail polish and to retrieve tools. The nail tech came back at least two more times after this initial time. Really? I could have been disturbed at a nail salon and have paid $45 or less for better service. Overall, the pedicure was good but I've had better service at regular nail salons and definitely didn't feel the service was spectacular or worth paying $60 plus $17 extra just for French tips ( I was also told this add on would be $15 but that's another issue). I expressed my disappointment with the receptionist with the price of the add on for what I considered was not worth $17 and I was told the spa sets its prices to serve "high end clients"...ha! It would be nice to receive "high end service" as well. As of today, my nails are chipping and today would make 2 wks which for toes is not very long to have polish begin to chip. I may try some of the other services there besides nail service in the near future but for me I will stick with Red Door or another spa for true relaxation and better service and quality. Massage service and facials may be really good here but I would caution you with the nail service...it was lackluster IMO. read more

I was given a gift certificate for a spa manicure when we moved to the area. It was a super thoughtful gift from a great friend! Unfortunately, it truly was the thought that counted, because what I just had was literally the worst manicure of my life. It was completely a waste of her money. Their GC's have a 6 month expiration and I had been holding on to it and forgetting to use it- well, several times I tried to call them and got their voicemail. Eventually, I got through and made my appointment. When I called, I was explained the difference between a Spa manicure and a Deluxe manicure and decided to pay the difference to upgrade to a Deluxe manicure for it to be a longer procedure including my choice of parafin dip or a masque. According to the pamphlet I had, it would've been an extra $10, although at checkout $15 was mentioned. My appointment was for 11am, and I was asked to get there a few minutes early to fill out paperwork. I wound up hitting every red light and walked in at 11am on the dot. I was offered a glass of water or tea and asked to sit and fill out the papers. They took a while and at probably 11:10 or 11:12, I was taken back into the nail room by the technician, Donna. Its a small, basic room with one manicure table and one pedicure table. The spa music was playing pretty loud, but it wasn't the most relaxing room, partially because it was so white and partially because the music's volume. I explained how I like my nails (short, squared and natural colors) and she went and got the nail bath to soak in. She came back and cut my nails and had me soak at around 11:15 or so. Then she quickly filed them and put a softener on my cuticles. She pushed them back and that was that. Donna then put some lotion on my hands, I wouldn't even say she rubbed it in, she just put it on, almost like how you'd put soap on your hands when you're about to wash them. I believe she left the room then, for a minute, to get supplies. She came back a minute or two later and explained that we'd do the parafin dip now. We went over to the wax and I dipped each had 3 times in the wax. She had me sit back down and she left the room again. I sat for somewhere between 7-10 minutes alone. She came back in at 11:35 and took the wax off my hands. Then she rubbed alcohol or nail polish remover on my nails and polished them. Even after damaging one of my nail's polish, she was done polishing at 11:44am. I wasn't sitting near a fan to help them dry or under a light. Donna then left the room again, and at 11:55, I walked out on my own without her instruction. I was shocked. Seriously shocked. That was a deluxe Spa pedicure? Seriously? I got no scrubs, no rubs and no massages. It was quite honestly the worst manicure I had ever had in my life. I walked out and told the receptionist how unhappy I was and she was very receptive to it all. Then my manicurist walked over, so I told her how unhappy I was- and she said she was sorry. That was all, just that she was sorry. I was so angry, i could hardly look at her. She almost seemed surprised that I didn't think it was good! I handed the gift certificate to the receptionist and sadly told her that I was expected to pay extra for the "upgrade" to a supposed deluxe manicure. Not that I was happy about it, but I am honest. The receptionist didn't think I should have to pay extra after hearing my story, but she had to call the owner to confirm. I waited probably another 10 minutes while they spoke and eventually the owner asked to speak to me. She apologized and told me that they wouldn't be charging me the extra money (heeellllo!?!!!?!? thank you!!!! duh!!!!!) but wanted to confirm what I was upset about. Apparently, while I waited, she spoke to the tech who said that my nails were perfect, and didn't need much cuticle work. Um, I'm sorry, what?? I'm a picker. I pick my cuticles raw and to the point of bleeding, so for someone to tell me that they were in good condition is hysterical! If they were great, I would've just taken the regular manicure and not agreed to upgrade since I needed extra work. So, I disputed that perfect cuticle remark, and told her that I was more upset that I got absolutely no massaging or anything like that! I told the owner that I've had manicures 100 x's better at a regular strip mall nail salon that cost me less than $20 WITH tip!! This place was expecting me to pay $45 not including tip (and the pamphlet I was given with the gift certificate said $40). The owner kept saying she wanted me to be happy and wanted me to be a return customer. I told her I may try another service but I would never ever return for a nail service. They took my GC but not the extra money. They gave me 2 10% off coupons. I won't use them. Also, my nails were not dry over an hour later! She must've used the wrong top coat. Had a wonderful experience. A friend got my wife and I the couples retreat with lunch. When we arrived, there were a bunch of snacks laid out, which included cheese, hummus and even mimosas. We started with a massage which was phenomenal. Yes you do have to walk outside to get upstairs but we enjoyed how we had a more intimate experience. Once our massages were over, we had a cute little lunch upstairs by ourselves. Afterwards we were walked downstairs for our facials. They were amazing as well. Been to a lot of different spas around the area and so glad that this one is in my backyard! Normally I travel to Alexandria/Arlington for my facials and waxes since I lived in that area for a number of years but being in Woodbridge now it takes time and gas to get up there. I passed Dansk on a few occasions while visiting the Occoquan eating lunch or just passing through and decided to give this quaint spa a try. What was I thinking travelling nearly 60 miles round trip when this place was right here!?!?! I got a Brazilian Wax and Facial both from Dee and she is amazing!! Her waxing technique made the whole process a breeze (no pun intended!) This was my third wax and being 37 weeks pregnant you would think there'd be some extra sensitivity in that area, but I swear she had me at ease the whole time! To top it off the facial I received from her was the icing on the cake! Like I said, I wish I discovered this place sooner since it may be awhile before I'm able to return but I know come Mother's Day this place will be at the top of my wishlist! read more

Heaven in Occoquan! This was, by far, the best massage I have ever had. Birgit was amazing!! I was taken to the room immediately and after a short wait Birgit came in and allowed me to pick my oil scent. With a few short questions the massage began. It was perfect! I felt comfortable the whole time. When the massage was over she used hot towels to remove some of the oils that were used during the massage. I am praying that the massages are always this great and that it wasn't just because it was my first time there. I will DEFINITELY be going back soon. I just love this spa. I've been there a few times and they have quickly become my regular spa for massages and facials. On a recent visit I had a hot stone massage from Susan - which was amazing. I mentioned that I always had sinus issues and she suggesting the Scandanavian Facial Massage which uses cold and hot stones on your face. I scheduled one with her a few weeks later and it was if I were breathing for the first time afterwards. Staff is great. Parking is easy. Services are fairly prices (far less than what I used to pay in the city and the services are better I think). Highly recommended. read more

Went there for a Brazilian wax with Dee. She was so gentle and friendly. Also knowledgeable and at what she does. I don't like the restrictions in the procedure and price which is a problem for me.
