Christopher chopped my hair so terribly - avoid him at all costs. My hair is too short to fix - only time and hair growth can fix I wanted to love this place. I'm now just waiting for the months and my hair to be better. Stylist did exact opposite of what I requested and made my hair so short and horrid layers like 90's style. I cannot correct for months have to wait for it to grow out :( I asked for layers to be under no visible layers he instead butchered my hair made it thinner overall and no volume - rather than giving me the volume with what I described & pictures & he cut it at least 4" shorter than what I showed him so I cannot correct it. I hate my hair now. Will never go back. My hair was pretty long when I went there and I'm more upset everytime I look in mirror I'm wearing a child size style ponytail to avoid seeing how terrible my hair looks down. While I always try to push and frequent local establishments I don't like leaving negative reviews for anyone trying to maintain a local business. Bottom line is you are a business. So when I got there, I had no appointment. I called Dante lucci in the car and they fit me in the same day for a color and cut...amazing right. So, slightly worried about what I was going to get on such short notice...i was greeted and taken the time to discuss my needs with patience, no rush. I was in the venue the Saturday after Thanksgiving. I found the experience distressful, and the lack of professionalism and experience of the salon. As I mentioned my experience to several people, many had said the salon has gone down hill. Later on that evening I went out with a good friend to a local club. While there a man who looked somewhat familiar was rudely tapping my friend on the shoulder. I was walking behind my friend so I kindly asked him if there was something he wanted from my friend. However, all he could say was rude things to me pertaining to my experience to the salon. So not only does the lack of professionalism live within the walls of the tacky blue walled salon, but also when the employees are off duty. At least one thing is consistent. Finding a decent salon with stylists you can trust can be difficult. Shortly after moving to the area in 2007 I was lucky enough to get a recommendation for Dante Lucci - and I've been a loyal customer ever since. The great thing about this salon is that the stylists work together, so if your usual stylist is booked you can go to another with no hard feelings. I typically visit Jenny who is a Silver Level stylist. My main reason for going to her in the first place was that she was one of the least expensive, but I have to tell you she's beyond incredible. Sheri is great if you're looking to do something with your color and need a good consult. Annie is the other stylist I visit regularly and she is a perfectionist so you can guarantee you'll walk out of there happy! She's not afraid to do drastic change, either. So when I want to go from bleach blonde to brunette she doesn't hesitate to help me get the results I want. Gina, the owner, is incredible too. She definitely makes her clients feel at home there. If you want a great salon experience, Dante Lucci is it! Even after moving across town to Painesville I still make the drive out to Rocky River - they're THAT good! read more

Since I relocated to Cleveland in June 2006, this was my best find so far! My experience at the salon has been extraordinary, the service amazing, and the results outstanding. I was referred here by a friend of a colleague of mine after inquiring if she had "any blonde friends and where they got their highlights done" :) and I couldn't be more satisfied with the professionalism or the quality of the services I have recieved. I have gotten countless compliments on my color and cut since I started going 2 years ago. The salon is on the pricier side, but no more expensive than any other salons I used to go to. I also make my appointments at least 3 weeks in advance, since I can only go after 5pm. I would highly reccomend them to anyone looking for a great salon in the Cleveland area. read more

I love everything about this place! The atmosphere, the hospitality, and the products. They always have hot coffee and cookies, and a lovely lounge area. It almost makes me hope I have to wait a little bit before my appointment! My stylist is phenomenal-ask for Yvette! I took my fiancé to Dante's for a pedicure as a birthday gift. I did get a pedicure for myself, and I did enjoy it. Maggie and Meram did a great! The place is big and spacious and the chairs for the pedicure was comfy! The reason for only 4 stars was the receptionist weren't the most friendly and the price was a little high. I had a promo code that they tried to tell me I wasn't able to use after the haircut was done but they knew about it when I made the appointment. I came here three times for hair cut and color and each time i was not seen until 30 plus minutes after my schedule appointment time. There were multiple highlight bleeds through out my hair. This place needs to make sure their hair stylist are trained. For the amount of money you pay $$$$, one would think you are receiving great service. Checking out was a disaster as well. Really wanted to love this place because it looks fresh and stylish and cute and I've heard good things! Went in for the first time for a shellac manicure and pedicure today. Unfortunately the customer service was just lacking. I was rushed the entire time, even though I arrived early and they didn't start me until 15 minutes after my scheduled time. She complained that I had shellac polish on that needed removal, though I had told the receptionist that by phone when making the Appt. There was a lot of sighing and frantic pace to the entire experience and I mentioned two times that I was a first time guest. Didn't feel welcomed like my business would be wanted back. When I asked a question about how to use the pedicure chair, the stylist said "I have no idea - I've never sat in it." Lastly, she asked me to leave the chair to find my own place to sit in the salon to dry my toes as she was late to her next Appt. Called to schedule a haircut on a Saturday and was able to squeeze in, as luck would have it, for a last minute slot the same day. I haven't had my hair cut for almost a year and was definitely overdue. I finally had a day to pamper myself (nails/haircut) and felt terrible about being 20 minutes late as my nails took longer than expected (not at Dante Lucci). As I raced to Avon, I summoned 'Siri,' to let them know I would be late... the only listing was the number for the Rocky River location. I called and spoke with Katie who was nice enough to call Avon for me to let them know I would be late. I was friendly greeted at the door and offered a cup of coffee by Jenna. Tarra, my stylist was extremely accommodating and I never once felt any bit of side eye or attitude for the tardiness. She was pleasant, upbeat, listened and took her time with my appointment. The end result was more than I had imagined and the first time I have ever truly felt happy with my hair. Tarra has a true talent for hair and I greatly appreciated my experience, she was even kind enough to go over the top and send me home with a few samples of shampoo/conditioner. Went here recently for a haircut because my regular stylist was booked. Pretty salon with nice staff. The stylist who cut my hair did a good job. She was friendly and efficient. The products they use are specific to their salon I believe. I appreciated that there was not a big push to purchase products. I do prefer Aveda products or Aquage, but these products were nice enough too. Apparently they are dog friendly too for those pet lovers out there. There wasn't anything extra about this place (such as the mini facial and scalp massage you get an Aveda salon), but my stylist did a good job so it may become my back up salon. read more

I went here on a deal through Groupon. I was really impressed! The décor is clean, fresh, modern and fun! I was warmly greeted and offered a beverage, as I waited for Mo (I was early for my appointment). Mo was great. I showed him a picture of what I was hoping for, and he gave me exactly what I wanted! He made me feel comfortable the entire time I was in his chair and I was overly pleased with his work. I didn't know what to expect coming to this salon. Based on a recommendation from a few friends, I've been going to Dante Lucci on and off for a little over two years. The service is ALWAYS the best which is amazing given how busy the salon is every time I'm there (evening and Saturday appts). In the past the stylist I previously went to was super-sweet, listened and really tried to give me a great cut/highlight. I just never loved it though and went back to my former stylist (in Columbus), whenever I could fit it into one of my trips. Because that was so difficult to coordinate, I decided to try DLS again (the stylist who previously cut my hair at DLS no longer works there). A few of my friends recommended Natalie and they were right - she was SO great!! She totally listened to what I was looking for but was also really honest about how to improve color and cut to be sure it was right for me. I rarely say this when I leave the hair salon, but I LOVE my hair....major improvement!! I TOTALLY recommend both the salon and Natalie as a stylist!! Such a great experience! read more

I got lectured immediately by the stylist Melissa in Rocky River on how she had no time for a consolation and little time for this and that and that she was a platinum stylist- she asked if I could afford that. Horribly rude, awful experience with her. She made no effort for conversation and complained to coworkers the whole time. I had a lot done and paid a lot of money and she treated me like dirt. I really wanted to like this salon, as I just moved to area and saw Dante Lucci stylists previously at a bridal show where the hair looked awesome. I took a chance and was booked with a Silver level male stylist. At first, he was great - consulted with me, gave me a tour of the salon. But he got progressively worse - would not make small talk with me despite my attempts, would only chat with the other stylist behind him. I was left sitting to process for much longer than expected because the stylist he delegated me to for a rinse, forgot about me. My original stylist came back and gave me the most aggressive hairwashing I've ever experienced - water all over my face and down my back. It was awful. I did like the color, but he never completed what I asked him to do to the layers around my face. He seemed so busy and put-off that I didn't bother to correct him. He spoke poorly of this coworkers and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. When I got to my car, I noticed all of the lingering hair dye on my skin around my forehead and ears. So embarassing. I would like to come back, but definitely to someone else - I wouldn't take a gamble and book with the first person available, thats for sure. For the price, it was an extremely disappointing experience. read more
