What a great place to enjoy the views. I loved my Rum Runner. It had a really nice kick to it. The…read moreflavor of the rum was so good. It is called Shipwrecked and it is made in St. Kitts. Our server was so friendly. I also got a pina colds. That was a bit too sweet but still had a nice, strong alcohol taste, which I like. There were some guys walking around with the little monkeys. They are cute but I have a fear it would bite me so no pictures with one. I enjoyed the atmosphere and everything else here. If I wasn't so full, I would have ordered some fresh fish.

We stopped to eat with maybe an hour and a quarter before the shuttle was to arrive. It was island time... the food arrived unevenly between 10-15 before the shuttle. We didn't have time to finish and had to take most of the meal to go. It was advertised as fresh mahi but either it was overcooked in a rush or wasn't fresh. But that's not to say it was bad, just average. The waitress seemed annoyed with us overall. The music was really loud, even when we were sitting behind them. And since we were visiting on a Sunday, there are no split checks. So unless you're paying cash, someone picks it up the whole bill. For what it's worth, We did like the vibe of the place. And the views were pretty terrific.

Absolutely amazing!!…read more Unassuming and not pretentious while still being clean, friendly, accommodating, and delicious. This was one of our favorites dinners while we visited Saint Maarten. The husband and wife owners are absolutely incredible. My son ordered the spaghetti. I ordered the lobster and my husband ordered the whole snapper. Spaghetti- the chef came over and grated fresh Parmesan over the spaghetti...delicious Lobster- couldn't decide if I wanted it prepared creole style or Thermidor. The wife made a decision for me and had each half prepared differently. I was soooo grateful and tipped accordingly because that was a lot of work. My husband and I planned to share the lobster and he doesn't like tomatoes so they left the fresh tomatoes out of the creole side and added okra (I love okra but my husband hates them). My husband tried it nonetheless and loved it. The lobster was delicious! Curried Whole snapper - AMAZING! The food and all the sides were served piping hot and my husband REALLY appreciated that. He also appreciated the size of the snapper (maybe about 2.5lbs). He ordered whole snapper at every restaurant we visited and this location had the largest whole fish. The view from the restaurant is amazing. They play music in the square that you enter to access the restaurant. The music is loud enough to hear while dining. Not sure if it's an every night thing or not. Music was fine. Overall, we were really happy to spend our money here!

Can't come to a Caribbean island and not do a rum (rhum) tasting tour. We arrived and were greeted…read morewith a welcome cup of rhum punch. I'm not a fruity drink person, so it was a bit too sweet for my taste--I could really taste the fruit juice. That said, this experience was much more than I expected. I thought it would just be a few rhum tastings and that's it, but it turned into a full experience: a history lesson, cooking and food tasting demonstration, and even a chance to participate in the rhum bottling process. Christina, our "rhumologist," kicked things off with tastings of the signature rhums, followed by a cooking demonstration featuring chicken cooked with tropical rhum, plus samples of rhum cake and gelato. We wrapped up with tastings of the specialty rhums. My favorite was the jalapeño lime rhum--so good that my husband and I ended up buying a bottle. The tour lasted about 1.5 hours and flew by. Overall, a really cool and memorable experience in St. Maarten.

I visited Toppers during my visit to Sint Maarten in late July. We purchased the tour and wanted to…read morealso try the restaurant. When we arrived we had to ask a few people where to go to check-in. Once that was completed we had a few minutes so we sat and waited. While waiting I noticed that the space was large, bustling and every corner was occupied which something related to Rum. We were given a portion of Rhum punch which was our welcome drink. The tour started at 1:30, the description said we would get to try 20 flavors. I quickly realized that these were tiny tastings ... just enough for a taste (not an even close to a shot). Our guide gave an explanation in conjunction with her own jokes and introduced just about everything in the gift shop which was super annoying, people will buy things if they want them but honestly this felt like heckling. The "tasting" was a bite of Caribbean chicken and a tiny spoonful of their rhum ice cream. The tour was cool but overall underwhelming. We then went and had lunch in the restaurant and it was slow. We took a seat with a bay view. We opted for an appetizer and shared entree. The shrimps was really good, a large portion with good flavor. The chicken with teriyaki left many things to be desired. The chicken was bland. The teriyaki was nothing special. The sides (mashed potatoes and broccoli) needed salt and pepper. The service was also slow and inattentive .. there were only 3 parties present. Overall lunch was just ok.
