Do. Not. Come. Here. It saddens me to write this review, truly. We had a terrible experience at Dr. Favroth's office. For starters, the tech and/or MA team...I'm not even sure how to go about our experience with them. Without disclosing personal information about my family member, they were not treated with the dignity and respect that you deserve when visiting a doctor's office. The MA that called us in (I can only guess they were an MA) didn't quite know what they were doing. Simple tasks like taking vitals were not done properly and the MA didn't even speak proper English. They didn't know how to work the blood pressure cuff which was such a huge red flag. They have multiple people in the registration room without introducing themselves, asking redudant personal questions, it was just a mess. No one explains why there is more than one staff member in the room with the patient. In fact, communication within the staff was unprofessional with arguing and giggles. Just ridiculous. Now comes the exam room with Dr. Favroth. When I asked if this was some sort of teaching clinic (again, due to the extra staff members in the room with us), I was met with an attitude from the doctor that went into who she was, her credentials, what universities she taught at, etc., instead of actually answering my question about WHY THERE WERE SO MANY PEOPLE IN THE ROOM DURING AN EXAM. It was like I annoyed her instantly. Fine, let's get on with the exam and meds that are needed. We asked to have labs taken to confirm that a previous infection was cleared. We were charged $73 for the labs. Okay, cool I paid it. An entire week passed without hearing the results. When we FINALLY got someone on the phone after numerous follow up phone calls and messages, we were told by the front desk that they had ACCIDENTALLY DISCARDED the sample my family member provided during our visit. They literally threw it away. I'm honestly appalled just writing this. When I demanded we get our money back, I was met with resistance. I had to arrive in person to get a handwritten check back from their team instead of just refunding my card on the phone. So upsetting. Overall, I highly discourage anyone bringing their loved ones here. They are not equipped to take care of people and they create incredible obstacles when you need to contact them. I've the displeasure of meeting with Dr. Favroth twice now. The most recent time I went I was absolutely appalled with the quality of service I received. Don't get me wrong, when it comes to supporting a Black owned business, be sure I'm gonna try to. However she was just horrible. She gives off the aura of an older family member always taking down to you and making you feel like an idiot just because you're younger than them. I told her I used Eucerin on my hands when they were dry (I have severe eczema) and also told her Vaseline makes my hands itchy. She goes on to look at me like i'm an idiot and tells me that they are the same thing. In layman's terms, she sucks. At another visit, I told her I was having stomach problems and she prescribed me medicine for chemotherapy patients to help with nausea???? Don't even get me started on the office, they don't answer the phones and if you leave a message they're gonna call you back bright and early at 8am. And you miss that call, good luck because the cycle will just repeat. I fortunately haven't had a bad experience with the anyone at the front desk, they all look depressed and ready to put in their two weeks but honestly I don't blame them. Overall, skip this office. They were the only ones in the area to take my insurance and I thought I'd feel more at home with a doctor that actually looked like me but unfortunately I'd rather get weight shamed somewhere else than get talked down to and listen to a 30 minute tangent about something not even medical/health related. read more

If i could leave 0 stars i would. this is the worst dr ever. my family has been going to them for years and yet they treat me like absolute crap. she runs a clinic filled with idiots. her dermatologist gave me birth control that made me depressed and gain weight like crazy and continued to give me it after i expressed that i was unhappy and was gaining weight like crazy. i decided to get off of it on my own last year and i haven't been able to lose weight since. I expressed to doctor Daphne my situation and my mom did as well. She told me she'd refer me to a dietitian and within a month if the diet doesn't work to go back to her and she'll possibly write me a prescription to help. i had an appointment with her nurse practitioner possibly 2 weeks ago and she was about to prescribe me the medication then she called me 2 hours later claiming dr. daphne is claiming she never said she'd write me that medication and she basically called me a liar even though my mom was in room with me while she said she would. she's a hypocrite and unbelievable. I can't believe they ruined my body and the way i look and still won't help me lose the weight they caused. unbelievable. don't go there if you are wanting real medical help. My parents are planning on suing if they don't do anything. what kind of doctor doesn't help and claims their patients are liars. the clinic is ran by complete idiots and they know exactly who I am so i hope they see this. definitely never going back there. read more

Yikes! Get your office together! I would have made this zero stars if I could! Hardly ever get through to anyone when you call to make an appointment. Terrible management on the admin side of things. You don't even get a hello from the front desk girl when you walk in. I had an insurance issue prior to one of my appointments, was very rudely spoken to by one of their managers (Anita I think?). She had this ugly "you're wrong, I'm right" attitude toward me. While I was sitting in there basically being chided and told I don't pay my insurance premiums (which IDK what's going on anyway, I was under my dad's insurance at the time) Then she had the gall and told me to call my dad to tell him, "dad you need to pay your bills." She had me call my insurance provider to verify benefits. Additionally while I was sitting in her office she took several personal phone calls and at the end of it all, didn't even acknowledge me and moved on to personal business. No goodbye, no sorry about the confusion, no let's reschedule, nothing. She just flat out ignored me. I walked out of the office, absolutely stunned. Despite Dr. Favroth being my PCP under Molina insurance, I only managed to be seen TWICE in the whole damn year--for an annual, and for an insomnia issue (to which the MD responded by doubling wellbutrin 150mg to 300mg overnight). The MD is liberal with her rx pad, though friendly. I couldn't even get in to build a relationship with my PCP, so I can't really comment too much on her. Back to their office--just about every encounter I've had with anyone, is ugly or dismissive. I've had issues with appointments CONSTANTLY. I made one appointment, was sent several text messages, emails and phone calls to confirm. I confirmed FOUR times, (2x by text, 1x online, and 1x by phone) then a few days later received a phone call that my appointment was canceled with no reason whatsoever. I tried to call back several times, with no answer half the time, and getting a rude man that didn't know what was going on. At one point a girl even told me it was because I didn't confirm my appointment. Finally someone simply told me that the doctor was not in. As for the clinical staff, nurses, nurse assistants and PAs I've encountered, many seemed to be recent grads or learning still. A little slow, but overall professional and courteous. This office is the worst I have ever seen in my entire life. It is such a massive frustration to deal with the staff to do something as simple as MAKING AN APPOINTMENT. I've been to physician offices with no appointment system--walk-ins only--where you had a shorter wait time. I've been to physicians that still used a paper appointment book, no electronic medical records system, no text appointment reminders etc that were far more effective in getting patients in and out quickly. If I had to come here as a patient with no other choice, I would choose to not even try to come in, rather than deal with the frustration of trying to be seen, and end up never being seen at all. If I could have left a comment with no stars I would have done so but in order to post an important comment- I had to give something. Normally, I would not bash my fellow black woman in business doing her thing.........! However, since she did go to school for a many of years to take care of other peoples lives and health, I am unsure as to why this lady shows up to work anymore or even why she practices medicine. She clearly gave me wrong information as if I was some dumb b_tch that never goggled before. However, I happen to be a claim examiner and Workers Compensation Adjuster for over 18 years. She has never seen my past medical records and I have only had a partial- hysterectomy. I'm pretty sure if I have in tact ovaries and cervix, I am supposed to get tested for cancer via GYN. I took a comprehensive blood test that I picked up but have yet to get a call or reading. Great, because she would lie in my face and tell me nothing to worry about. My cholesterol is extremely high, she was unapologetically late two hours for my appointment and 30 minutes late for my daughters. Lumped both in the same room and never laid 1 finger on my daughter or myself. No reflexes, spinal check, skin, eyes, nose, throat- nothing. She came in the room with her training staff and yelled out- o=O.K So well start with the daughter and end with the mom. No explanations. No examinations. My blood test came back my daughters didn't and she is on serious medication that requires urine tests to make sure it is not damaging her liver !!!!! This doctor sucks. She looks like all of her spare time is used eating everything around her and she is rude, ghetto, incompetent,- lazy, and a willful disrespectful disregard for peoples lives. A few thing that can be improved on: Call people back with their test results sooner, Check patients feet that have diabetes, let patients know if there are side effect when you prescribe meds to them so they have the option to refuse them. Thank you Dr. Favroth for getting us in (and out) quickly. My daughter stepped on a dirty nail and I was worried we would have to go to urgent care for a tetanus shot. Dr. Favroth got us in within an hour of the incident and we were in the clinic less than 40 minutes. Very efficient, helpful and met all of our needs. read more

We are/were looking for a new Dr for our toddler. First they sent in a P.A. Trainee who wanted to see if my child really needed to be seen by the Dr. Seriously? Who did I come to see? One of the nurses came into our room with her Yeets hanging out, and the Dr herself came into the exam room wearing an old beat up t-shirt that looked 20 yrs old. I made my appt online with ZocDoc and lucky me, the lady who pulls these off the internet wasnt there and we had to wait an additional 45 minutes till they could work us in.Never again.... read more

I expressed to her i am gaining sever wait and it's making me unhappy and she continued to give it me. a year later after suffering from depression and severe weight gain i then got off of it myself and saw daphne's letting her know i've gained crazy weight and she referred me to a dietitian and told me within a month if it doesn't work out then she'll prescribe me a medication. I just had an appointment today and the other was going to prescribe me something to lose weight and she now claims the dietition and daphne are both claiming i'm a lair. The office was clean and easy to find. I'm not sure why anyone should have any issues finding it. The staff were pretty great as well. The only thing was it was very hard to get anyone to pick up the phone to schedule an appointment. It may be better to just walk in to schedule an appointment. That's enough about the office. Once I made an appointment I only wanted about 20 minutes after showing up to be seen (Office: 4/5) Dr. Favroth, on the other hand, was absolutely STELLAR! She was very attentive to any issues I was having. She is very knowledgeable in a variety of issues. She's a mix of fun and professional. I would recommend her to anyone! Through the years I've had my fair share of doctors. I've lost my best to retirement others due to moving and have left several because of being horrible at taking care of my medical needs. Dr. Favroth is up there eith the best. I was in pretty bad shape when I 1st started seeing her but she dug in and straighten me out. I love her bedside manner and how she takes her time to discuss your medical issues. I'm cash pay and each visit is worth every penny. I even brought my son to her which she has worked wonders with him and even helped me with his medical problems. My son has Autism Spectrum Disorder and he thinks the world of her. read more

I went to her once a few years ago, and then she randomly closed her doors for an indeterminate amount of time. Not sure what happened, just no one answered her phones and her office was closed for months. Anyway, I'm here because her office randomly started sending me various emails about flue season, flu shots, etc. I never signed up to receive these emails and the unsubscribe button doesn't link to anything. I tried to reply (like the message told me to do if I had questions) and I got an undelivered message back. This has got to be the worst doctor in the entire DFW area. My mother was sent here after starting dental treatment with the dentist next door due to having high blood pressure. The doctor did not examine my mother and just prescribed her a pretty high dose of a blood pressure medication. For two years this doctor prescribed this medication without EVER doing any follow ups or doing blood work. Nothing. Another time she sent my mom to do an ultra sound due to some indigestion problems and her office never followed up with my mom. My mom had enough of never hearing from them, so a month and a half later she had to show up to her office and ask for the results and was met with hesitation from the staff because they had no idea what the results were. Back to the blood pressure meds. Earlier this last year my mom got a letter from her insurance stating that the blood pressure medication she was on was being recalled for potential carcinogens and the letter stated that my mom should get blood work done to make sure everything was ok and that the potassium in her blood was normal. Well my mom set up and appointment and the "doctor" REFUSED to order blood work, she told my mom "we will do it next time". Well guess what?! A few weeks later my mom has a massive heart attack and almost died and was hospitalized, in a medically induced coma, for three months. Could this have been prevented if the doctor actually did what she was supposed to do? Maybe. Will my mom be going back to this place? Nope. Will we be reporting this awful doctor to the Texas Medical Board? ABSOLUTELY. RUN DO NOT WALK AWAY FROM THIS TERRIBLE DOCTOR I left this review close to a year ago and it looks like it was deleted! I came back to repost because today the doctors office had the nerve to call my mother and ask her to set up an appointment because she hasn't gone in for a while. Plan on waiting 1.5 to 2 hours for appt. Plan on having only a percentage of your rx called in. Plan on having to call to get any lab results. And plan on them randomly saying ypu owe money 24 hours before your upcoming appt. Then, expect them to find a mistake and changevthat request to ' you owe your insurance company from 3 years ago, so we cant see you. Total scam office. Warthog of a billing woman sits there and looks half drugged while telling me, sick as i am with flu, that she believes I owe a completely different insurance carrier from 2015! Even IF I did (and I dont, I called them) i damn sure would pay carrier to avoid bad credit instead of scamming doctor. Think about people, too many other local docs. Oh yea, plan on seeing 9 people sign up on sign in board for same appt time. Lol 2nd review- 12-1. Location is good, but they moved from old address. New office is poorly marked. Dr Favroth is good, but her staff leaves something to be desired. Response to phone calls is marginal, and they have messed up with requests for refills. She is supposedly an Internist, but she is not good with adults. This is a real doctor's office, but it operates more like a "Doc-In-a-Box". She is much better with children.She uses primarily student nurses, which is good, but it makes the process SLOW. Expect to be there at least a couple hours. read more

I've been a patient of Dr Favroth for over 3 years. When I first visited her, the office staff was a mess. I had just retired as a back office nurse as well as office manager and was well aware of the issues . I had a long conversation with the then insurance coordinator and expressed my concern for the future of the practice if things were not addressed. She was well aware of the mess and told me they were in the process of changing EVERYTHING. Well, they did.. new front office staff.. few new MA's .. nurse practitioners were added as well as an on-site full service draw station and lab. I must say the turn around is impressive. Dr Favroth is a kind sweet woman... she may not be the "specialist" you're looking for but as a PCP and especially a children's doc... she is very competent . To the 1 woman who wrote the review on Dr. Favroth. The only reason I subscribed to this app was to speak on my experience with Dr Favroth. I understand being a mother with a young sick child is devastating. There are probably several pediatricians that will never forget my ranting and raving about their lackadaisical attitudes when it came to treating my daughter especially if she was lethargic with a high temp and I had an 8 am appointment and it's 10 am and she hasn't been seen. Oh yes I can relate. But if you noticed, I wrote pediatrician not family practice MD. When my daughter was sick, I room her to a MD that SPECIALIZES in children. I live in Oak Cliff. Dr. Favroth is in Richardson. If she was located in Carmel California, I would still find a way to get an appointment. The MD I had before was an internist. She was so emotionally distant that it was a year before she realized she was no longer my primary physician. My appointments were only 30 minutes from the time I checked in til I checked out. Dr. Favroth took an hour to come to the exam room. First she sent a student PA. I love students because they go that extra mile. They're eager and interested because their experiences have not become mundane and they're burned out. The PA was kind and attentive. Then Dr. Favroth walked in. No she didn't look like I expected. But with her concern and intelligence, she could have been wearing a thrift store wrinkled cotton dress with a pair of snow boots and I wouldn't care. She was on her game. She knew what to do. She ordered my medications while I was sitting in the exam room. She gave me information about my health. I've had some raised areas on my face that my last MD didn't pay attention to. Dr. Favroth sent me to a dermatologist. I was diagnosed with sarcodosis. I've had these areas on my face for about 2 years and what I thought were depressive episodes were actually flare ups from my sarcodosis. I have talked to her at 5 am because I had a concern. I have called about symptoms that she knew exactly what to do, call in the rx and I had it the same day. When my mom died she talked to me about my grief. Like I said before, I understand when you have a sick child and you want everything done for your child yesterday! But my advice, GO TO A PEDIATRICIAN OR CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL! Talking about a person's appearance only speaks volumes about you,not the person you're criticizing. It takes me almost 2 hours by train and bus to see Dr. Favroth but I'm not going to change because she's the best MD I've had in a while. The last good one I had no longer took my insurance. The only complaint I have are her medical assistants. She is clueless! I wouldn't let her draw my blood because she barely has people skills. I would look like a pin cushion because I doubt her abilities. Yes Dr. Favroth, you really need a better medical assistant that's why you only get 4 stars. But I love Dr Favroth. I'm 60 years old and as I get older, I become very cynical of MDs. Like I said before, I live in Oak Cliff but I don't want to change because it's rare for me to find a MD with Dr Favroth qualities. I don't care if she's wearing a U OF TEXAS tee shirt or a Vera Wang tailor made suit with Jimmy Choo pumps. It's about her abilities, confidence, knowledge and being a great patient advocate. You know if my child had an elevated temp and the MD couldn't see me, I would had called. 911 because it's about my child not wasting time writing a bad review because you think you're privileged. I am a long time patient of Dr. Favroth. My children and I have seen her for over 5 years. Brilliant doctor... Extremely thorough Great understanding of ones medical needs Honest She cares about her patients and will take the time to get to know you. This is very important because her patients vary in culture and cultural difference may determine how one responds to diagnosis and what methods of treatment they are open to. If you are impatient this may not be the place for you. But if you want a true diagnosis and quality care then don't hesitate. Every office including my own can improve, but negativity is not how one brings about change. read more

I always set my appointments at 9am (when they open) and every time I, along with others in the waiting room, are waiting at least 15 minutes to be tended to. And the walls are thin so I always hear the staff having a meeting or something in the back. In any place of business that I've worked at, you hold meetings OUTSIDE of business hours, not while you're open. I think that's a very poor choice since we always have to wait on THEM to be serviced. It defeats the purpose of me setting an appointment at 9am if none of the staff interacts with me until 10am. It's ridiculous. Also, the staff is very uninterested. Not friendly or caring or helpful. The doctor likes to talk a lot and spends very little time just getting to the point. It's not like she's spending all this time talking to me about my diagnosis or anything, she just wastes a lot of time just chatting about things that aren't relevant. That's irritating when you combine that with the fact that each time I visit I have to wait at least an hour to be seen in the first place. I don't want to spend MORE time listening to the doctor just chit chat. It's very inconsiderate and everyone in the building is seemingly unaware of how much time they waste. And maybe this is just a negative experience that I've had, but MAKE SURE that the doctor knows WHY she is prescribing meds to you. I came to her stating VERY CLEARLY what my concerns were and she prescribed something (that didn't work) and on my next visit I told her it didn't work. And she said, "It didn't help with your depression?" I was QUITE confused since my visit with her previously was NOT to address depression of any sort. I never spoke of having depression. Yet she THOUGHT that I did. It seems kind of silly and EXTREMELY unsafe when the staff AND doctor ask all these questions and write down everything you say just for them to MAKE UP something in the end. What if she had prescribed me a depression med that made me sick?? She didn't even know why the heck she had prescribed it to me! So just make sure that SHE KNOWS what your ailment is and MAKE SURE that you're on the same page. Also, there was some very shady stuff going on with her procedures and I believe that she at one point tried to skip some steps or take the easy way around things. I work in a pharmacy and she tried to reassure me by saying "You work in a pharmacy. You know how these things work." True. Which is why I had a bad feeling and was confused with the way she was operating. I think these people are very unprofessional and do the bare minimum to get by. Unfortunately, due to my insurance plan, I have to keep seeing her until the end of the year until I change insurance. I've invested too much time to this place so changing doctors now would be a pain but it would still probably be worth it. Don't come here unless you have PLENTY of time to be wasted and are okay with being treated like trash instead of like a decent human being that is paying this stupid place money. read more

This office is horrible if you are a walk in at 3pm you will be there till 5:45 pm appointments come first .I do understand but when you make appointment for 4:30 and they still make you wait till 5:45 and the only thing you need is a refill which took 5 minutes and out the door at 5:55 .That is unacceptable read more

my 1 star is not for the Doctor herself, but for her staff. I find it very difficult to get anyone on the phone at the office, and if I leave a message, I never get a call back. When I finally do get someone to pick up the phone it is a very RUDE boy. He likes to argue with the patients, and tell them that he doesn't have time for this... This is not the office to go to if you are looking for a patient friendly environment.
