Blue cheese chips - wow - surprisingly delightful!

Lovely little restaurant ample with charm and great service and food. Call ahead for the wheelchair accessible ramp to be placed for side door entry. Menu includes great apps and seafood and meats and good beer & wine selection. We tried three apps - the onion rings were crispy and hot, the blue cheese chips were a surprising (must try) delicious bite, and the mushrooms (good but not fantastic). Meals included the shrimp and grits (yum! creamy creamy grits!), the shrimp and scallops (blackened and sweet and delicious), and crispy fried fish and twice baked potatoes (another yum). The salad was fresh with a variety of veggies and dressing options (served family style). The hush puppies were crispy and good but a little dense. The service was friendly and prompt and accurate - even with our large group about 25 folks. All in all, a beautiful and welcoming space for a meal with family or friends (we were there for the annual Americus Rotary Club holiday dinner). Highly recommend.

Definitely out of the way, but worth the trip. I did enjoy some great service and wonderful food. Please take some time and enjoy this spot.

The Daphne Lodge was amazing! I'm a huge fan. I went with a group of girlfriends for a bachelorette weekend. We were able to make reservations in advance and every part of the experience was GREAT! Food (5/5): I ordered the shrimp and grits and replaced my coleslaw with a side salad. The side salad came out with 4 dressing options that they put on the table. The shrimp was SO good. Cooked to perfection and full of flavor. I loved the tomatoes that were on the dish. It was a great combination. Drinks: The restaurant serves a selection of beer and wine. There are many options for an $8 glass. I ordered the cabernet and really enjoyed it. They give you a nice big pour! Service (5/5): A lovely man greeted us and showed us to our table. He was friendly, welcomed us, and gave us our menus. Our server was a sweet lady, very friendly and quick to get us anything we needed. I would 10/10 recommend this restaurant to anyone in the area! Such a lovely local spot.

If you are willing to sit, relax and be patient while your food is cooked... then this is the place for you. This will be one of our regular stops when we camp at Veterans State Park. We had the onion rings for appetizer and asked for a side of ranch to dip them in. OMG they were so good. My hubby had the catfish I had the parm crusted grouper and my son had the chicken finger plate. Our meals included salads which came with 4 different homemade dressings (vinaigrette, thousand island, blue cheese and ranch). We were really pleased with the quality of the food and the service was great. BTW the hush puppies and cheese grits were awesome. TIP: call ahead and make reservations. That may be the only way you get in they are only open a few days of the week for a few hours each day.

This place us a South Georgia institution. Opened as a restaurant in 1952, it has been a go-to place for casual dining for 64 years.

Order the appetizers if you want to be over stuffed. It was amazing. Today I wanted something different and I was in Cordele by myself. I had forgotten this place was here. It is easy to overlook, it is on a side street that goes up beside the interstate, not a frontage road. It is behind the Crystal and is the only thing behind the Crystal. Just look for the big missile on the side of the interstate and it's there. I was seated quickly. There was a good steady crowd coming in and out. This was Sunday lunch. I ordered a Diet Coke, and some tempura vegetables. The tempura vegetables were amazing, especially the carrots and the broccoli. I believe there was also a squash and lots of onions. All of them done tempura style and they came out hot and crispy. Almost too hot to eat. This was amazing Then immediately my miso soup and my small salad came out. These come with the hibachi dinners. I would've told them to keep the soup and the salad, but they brought them, so I had a bite of each. The salad was a basic Japanese steakhouse salad nothing bad nothing good just a salad. The miso was a good soup. It had some onions and some mushrooms in it and a little bit of chopped up onion greens. It was a good miso. Then came the main event. I had ordered a filet mignon and scallops and shrimp as I would at any Japanese steakhouse. This was some of the best filet mignon that I've had in this type of steakhouse, expertly prepared And very tender. I ordered mine medium rare, and it was medium rare, the shrimp were well cooked as were the scallops nothing to fear there they were fully cooked. The rest of the dish had a big bowl of steamed white rice, which I ordered instead of fried rice. And you get noodles, I would rather have noodles than rice any day and these were very good noodles. There also was a healthy portion of vegetables. This is much better than your usual hibachi place. They have so much good stuff and they have three of the tables that they use for the performance. They don't do that at lunch. I sat over by the sushi bar, and ordered one rainbow roll. It was very good eight pieces large really filling once again. I ordered way too much food, and even if they had been small portions, it would've been too much food. But I want to try everything. The sushi was really really good. Service was fast, I mean really fast, so eat a hurry. Or just order the hibachi, and everything will come out just fine. If you have a larger party, I would tell you to share your appetizers. Everything comes out very very fast. If you've got slow eaters, maybe you can tell them to paste themselves. Either way this was a great experience. The restaurant is exceptionally clean. The staff is very friendly. The building is new. There's nothing that tracks from this at all. In fact I was so pleasantly surprised that I told my wife we would go over there and eat even though it's a 30 mile trip from our town just to get there. It's better than most of the hibachi places in Columbus Mike and Albany. A lot of this has to do with its proximity to I 75, and I understand that that keeps things moving, and you have a different audience. But the young man that runs this restaurant and owns it has taken the time to hire quality chefs, and he is the hibachi chef. He also makes the sushi. He's doing a great job. This guy is running a top-notch Japanese steakhouse in a little town like Cordele.

We went with my brother and his wife and daughter to eat at Pat's place, a beloved Americus tradition. I cannot remember a time in my life when Pat's place was not open. It actually is about the same age as I am. It got it started as a biker bar years and years and years ago, and then it transformed into a college hangout. Only most of the patrons are people who never went to Georgia Southwestern or they graduated so long ago that they're now retired from their jobs. So it kinda is a college bar just for people who graduated from college in 1980. My wife ordered a garden salad and we got some nachos and I got a Reuben with chips and an order of chicken wings. It was $75. And I've got to tell you none of it was anything special. You could get a better Reuben out of a sandwich machine. And if you don't order extra meat, what you end up with is a sauerkraut sandwich. The chicken wings they were Tysons chicken wings from a bag and they tasted like the dinosaur shaped chicken nuggets that my nieces eat. My nieces are under 10 years old. The nachos were mini Tostitos with a couple of three different cups of things served with them. The chili was OK. The guacamole was OK. The cheese sauce was nacho cheese sauce. Think about this as concession stand nachos or school lunchroom nachos. My wife's salad was delicious looking it was very good. She enjoyed it and it was a great deal. The rest of the meal was total garbage. And for $75 I expected better. Not a drop of beer was consumed. $75 included two cokes. And you have to bus your own table when you're finished. The service is always very good, they bring your food to your table after you order it at the bar. And it's not a proper bar either. It's just beer, I guess you could have a glass of wine but it's mostly beer and soft drinks. They're not putting on any airs at Pat. They're just charging too much.
