When I call him, he then explains that they weren't dry therefore I couldn't pick them up (no heads up or anything). He then says he will text me Friday morning and let me know what time to pick them up Friday once they're ready. Friday morning, I hear nothing. Finally, I get ahold of him and he tells me 2PM. I show up at 2PM, he isn't here and neither are the boots. The lady at the store calls him and asks when he will be there, he then says 3 o'clock. I told him that wasn't going to work and he said okay, he would leave right then and head that way. He shows up at 2:45, with the boots still wet, wasting my time once again. I understand things come up and deadlines don't get met, but communication with a customer is at the very minimum a requirement. I will not use this service again or recommend them to anyone else.

The heel was crumbling and deteriorating and the tread under the toes was peeling off. I figured I had nothing to lose because I hadn't been able to wear them in years because of the repair that was needed even though I like them a great deal. I figured the worst thing that could happen is that the repair would not be good and they would still be as unbearable as they were before but at least I tried. My boots were finished within a week, the soles and heels look great, and best of all he conditioned and cleaned them so they look brand new, except for the littlest bit of crinkling from where which I think just adds to the character. The owner is very nice and tells you the price upfront. He charged me $75 but brought a pair of $250 boots from 20 years ago back to life. I'd say that's a pretty good investment.

I brought them in just to see what could be done, and three days later walked out with my Loakes looking as good as new, including a complete resole. Absolutely incredible. There is very little in Baytown worth mentioning but if you really need a quality shoe repair job it's worth driving in from Katy or the Woodlands. I've never been to a better cobbler in my life.
