The way it was handled made it seem like this wasn't unusual. After I canceled my appointment, I got a quick, half-hearted "sorry about that." Honestly, if there had been more sincerity in the apology or any sense that the mistake was being owned, I probably wouldn't have written this. But with 15 minutes left before my new appointment at my usual shop, I figured I'd take a minute to share the experience. I strongly believe that everyone should take their mandatory lunch break per state law, and I'm not a fan of it when it's not enforced. As a lead in my job, I make sure everyone I work with takes their lunch break on time because I get cranky if I don't eat, so I totally get it.
