I selected "any barber" because I wanted the fastest available slot. I arrived at 2:25 because I didn't want to be late and needed to be out of there as soon as possible. Right at 2:30 one of the barbers asked if I had an appointment. I said yes. He pointed to a female barber in the corner and said I'd be with her. I had just watched someone sit down in her chair, so I mentioned it. He then went over and asked her how long she'd be, which confirmed I was looking at at least another 30-minute wait. The way it was handled made it seem like this wasn't unusual. After I canceled my appointment, I got a quick, half-hearted "sorry about that." Honestly, if there had been more sincerity in the apology or any sense that the mistake was being owned, I probably wouldn't have written this. But with 15 minutes left before my new appointment at my usual shop, I figured I'd take a minute to share the experience. What's the point of making an appointment if you're going to wait as long as a walk-in? Not sure if this will help anyone, but it was frustrating enough that I felt it was worth sharing. I know quite a few people who go here, and I've always wanted to like the place, but it just doesn't quite hit the mark for me.

I told him I didn't want much length taken off the top because my hair is thinning. He seemed very confident and said he dealt with clients like me all the time, that he would be able to give me a great cut, and that I had basically been getting the wrong haircut all this time. He talked about how my hair needed to learn to "work together" and said he would hook it up. I told him to do his thing, just do what I asked for, and I was excited to see him back up the game he was talking. I appreciate that he tried, but this ended up being the worst cut I have had in may years. He took off inches of hair on the front of my head, months of growth, and the thinning hair on top looks even thinner now. One area came out so short and thin that it looks like a random bald patch on the top of my head. This is not what I asked for, and it looks terrible to me, I am embarrassed to go out in public without a hat, and going into work in an office setting is going to feel humiliating because there is nothing I can do except wait weeks or months for it to grow back. All of this would have been avoided if Will had just followed my instructions instead of trying to do what he thought was best. Respect your clients wishes. I walked out feeling like I should have been paid for this cut, not the other way around. I will not be going back.
