Someone recommended I stop in here to check out the local country store. It is smaller than I expected, but the staff is extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I wasn't able to get any ham because of the holidays, but will go back next month. As with most country stores, they sell a bit of everything. From peanuts to ham, chicken salad and pimento cheese, to pre-packaged ham biscuits. I tried a bit of everything! Stop in if you are in the area. read more

Love this little country store. The sell homemade Chicken pot pie, Brunswick stew and my favorite Mac and cheese. Also if you haven't tried the Nightingale ice cream sandwiches they are sold here and I recommend. Mmmmmm Always a must stop when I'm in this little town. read more

We live in north Suffolk and drove about 25 minutes to this place to go to their pumpkin patch. Well, they don't have a pumpkin patch and basically were out of pumpkins! It had rained the week prior so everything was very muddy and had a lot of standing water. Like, cover your shoes deep! There was no staff outside directing anyone anywhere so it just felt very "thrown together" but that's okay! My son still had a great time. It was very quaint and was a a lot put in a small package! I had to keep reminding myself that this is a FREE place to get into and to not expect much which helped me enjoy it more. They have many different things to take photos on or with. Over all good experience. They also have a "corn maze" but I say that loosly! read more

Out of the way on a country road on the far outskirts of Smithfield VA. If you are looking for a country ham, this is the place to go.

This place was absolutely fabulous. The ladies behind the counter were more than helpful showed us the pictures in the process that the ham goes through. Gave us a sample of the country ham in the cheese wonderful. We bought sausage chicken salad ham salad how Mento cheese hoop cheese and of course a big O fat country ham. When people who all over town tell you this is where they get their ham I can see why. This is a very small corner store specializing in making ham with love. Even some of the bigger corporate folk wish they could recreate what they have here. I would go back to visit again but remember to bring CASH they do not take credit cards. read more
